| Good morning! Paul called last night and things are status quo in Florida. But he did get rear-ended while at a stop light. Jim is unconscious with a tube down his throat to keep his airway open. Paul bought a CD player and is playing some of Jim's favorite music. Oh, today is our Anniversary! Twenty-nine wonderful years.!! Mary Kay, I had a foot operation years ago. It hurt when I would walk or stand to much and I remember it had something to do with muscles (??). I wonder if your operation sorta messed up (or at least confused) some of the neighboring muscles, so they are pulling toes in a different direction. My second toe climbs over my big toe. I just tape it and forget about it. I don't wear sandals any more, though! It sounds like you have a fantastic vacation coming up! Take lots of walking breaks -- or can you set up your back seat so you raise your foot? Judy, LOL about dreaming of Peg! It is just so weird how some people just pop into one's dreams. Shelley -- I do hope you are feeling better today. Perhaps DH is feeling better so he can pamper you? ![]() Barb, how exciting to be asked to join that book discussion. I would be a nervous wreck thinking of my words being read by millions of people. But then, you are used to it! Do keep us posted on the date, OK? Donna, how did the overnight with Nolyn go? Is your house still in one piece? Survivor -- I had closed captioning on and I still feel like I missed half the conversation on that show. Why on earth did Johnny Fairplay want to be voted off? He knew what he was getting into. Peg, LOL. Now you pop up in people's dreams! Quote:
Speaking of the swelling in your feet -- my legs and ankles swelled up quite a bit after my hip operation, too. And it started once I got up and walked around more. My doctor said it would go away and it did, after about a month. For a while there, I thought I was going to have old lady ankles. Brenda, ooh. That yoga/yarn shop trip sounds just the thing! And she makes her own yarns? You will surely find something to buy! There is a woman here in KC who does the same thing, or at least she did years ago. Llamas instead of sheep. At a wedding shower, she gave the bride-to-be an afghan from llama wool she gathered, spun and wove herself. Absolutely beautiful! (Barb -- the bride was Lauri, Beth Ingram's daughter-in-law). Susie, any better today? ![]() While going through my e-mail, I accidentally hit the spam key instead of the delete key for an e-mail from LCE about a new post on this thread. OMG. That affects the site ... sort of a black mark against Dixie. I am hoping I can maybe send an e-mail to AOL and say it was a goof??? Have a wonderful day! XXOO

| I'm flying right now, but will be back. Alida: I'm so impressed that you would post your weight. You too, Judy! I am so ashamed of what I weigh that I simply can't even get on the scale, must less post it. I can't even stand to know!! Sheesh! Judy: In Jungian dream analysis, all parts of the dream are parts of yourself. So, what part of yourself do I represent. Must be the beautiful, articulate, holy, suave, chic, wonderful part ![]() |

| Hi guys, I'm a total whiner today...my head and hair hurt, my back hurts, my sides hurt from coughing so much, my throat is raw also from the cough, and I nearly have no voice...blessing in disguise there probably, for DH. LOL. He is really not much better. Of the 2 of us, he is more functional than I am. About all I can do is lay on the sofa and moan! har! This stuff is totally kickin' my behind! And of course the scale is up due to drinking OJ/PA juice and eating saltines. Nothing else really sounds very good. sigh. Just shoot me now! OK...told ya'll this would be whinney...LOL. Please, please, please, if you are out in public and hear someone coughing, snotting and sneezing, RUN IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!! I kid you not, this stuff is wicked. I could see how it could easily kill elderly folks and folks with compromised immunne systems. (((hugs))) from the sickie....s

| 'Scuse me while I go take another dose of Airborne and wash my hands. This forum is contaminated. However, I commiserate with you all. Whining is allowed--it's part of the therapy. ![]() |

| Just popped in -- Peg -- actually, since I posted that re-do weight I think I gained back the 5 or so I lost. I went on an ice cream kick. Thankfully, that is over. Back to square one. But I do hear you. Been there, believe me. Oh -- I never answered your question. Yes, Bob's ex-wife (mother of Jim in Florida hospital) is still alive. We are still paying her alimony. Makes a nice tax deduction at least. Shelley, OMG. What you have sounds absolutely awful. You are taking big drugs, right? Duh. Of course you are. Good advice on avoiding coughing people. Probably a good idea just to avoid any crowd period. FYI, apropos to absolutely nothing we have been talking about: I got a coupon in the mail for a free pair of Soma panties. The back is supposed to stay put with no panty lines. Well, the back does stay put. And there are no panty lines. However, it feels like I am wearing a cloud instead of the usual "girdle." No control whatsoever. I am not used to that.

| I got 2 ![]() s today. A tiny new 7.2 mg pixal camera (in pink, no less) that will easily fit in my purse , and something pratical... a number pad for the lap top. I am thrilled with both. Heck, I would have just been thrilled to get the number pad. DH earned his good dinner tonight (which is out cooking on the grill). Yes, girls we have had two days of absolutely beautiful weather so it definitely called for something grilled.I now return you to your snow and drippy noses. Don't hate me for good weather and a nice gift. (definitely ducking --- for which there is no smiley) |

| Night gang, it's been a long weekend. The family and I have been spending the day going to church, running errands and just hanging out. We also worked on homework. I like helping the kids with their projects. ![]() |

| I'm thinkin' "Only five more Mondays, and Monday won't matter anymore!!" Sorry to gloat, working gals, but you know I've earned this. Heather, good to see you popping in. I don't know how you manage your busy life so well, and I hope everyone appreciates your devotion. Alida, still paying alimony after 29 years??? Wow. That bites. Still, congrats on your anniversary, and good health to you both for many more. About that book discussion, from what I've read before, I assume that they record the conversation, and then edit for the article. It isn't like composing a review--it's just talk. It doesn't matter if you say something dumb--it's just a bunch of people and their opinions. But I will show up with some "pre-edited" opinions, just in case. I am working hard to keep my eye on the ball these days. There are bits of business I really need to get done, and it won't do to be a scatterbrain right now. If it were full spring already, I'd be in a hopeless mess. Does that happen to anyone else?? Take care of you today. |

Good morning! I don't have a lot of time. I just remembered I have an appointment today (Barb - American Century). Years ago, I did some "etchlike" on doors there and now they want some more. I really don't like doing this stuff any more, especially in a busy commercial environment. So, seeing as how I have to meet some Big Boys, I will at least put on some make up. Wow, Judy, You got your Valentine presents early! A number pad? What's that? Mary Kay, oh, we will celebrate our anniversary ... just on Wednesday, when Bob and I are both off! Barb, let's have Donna figure out how many sleeps you have until R-DAY! Have a good one. XXOO
