| Barb - It seems some days that I run so hard but get no where.... What a great weekend with my family. I love it when we tease each other and enjoy each others company. Jay had a great birthday party! Today all the kids will be gone for a few hours so I'm working on my housework now so I can relax later. Great day! I have my headphones on now so I can get in some good steps dancing while I clean. Must burn off extra calories.dance2 *picture of Charlie |

| Hi guys, As expected, this stuff has now turned into a raging case of tonsillitis and OM(otitis media) for me. I was awakened about 0200 with severe pain in my ears and throat, could hardly swallow. I am now on antibiotics, so I'm hoping in about 48 hours I'll see some improvement. I want to cry; it hurts that bad. D@mn tonsils! Everyone take care! (((hugs))) s

| Oh Shelley! I hope that relief comes quickly. I've never had tonsilitis before. Is it like strep? My DH had to get a shot in the behind once for strep so hope you were treated better at the doc. |

| Good morning...I'm still alive after my weekend with Nolyn. It was absolutely wonderful! He was an angel.Judy you were so right...get him away from the other kids and he's a totally different little guy. We decorated a bird house, made a wall hanging with red wooden hearts, made and decorated cookies, read books and on and on. Had a great time. I could keep that little guy so easily. Yesterday when it was time to take him home he said "no, he wasn't going home". When Poppa asked him why he said everyone yells at him so he wants to stay here cause Gramma doesn't yell at him. Just about broke my heart. He finally agreed to go when I told him Mommy and Daddy would miss him. The only part I'm not sure that I would get used to is being peed on during the night. lol Pull up must have slipped. Can't wait until I can grab him and bring him home with me again. Barb: Barb, let's have Donna figure out how many sleeps you have until R-DAY! lol Alida, you're so funny. I'm don't remember your last day of work Barb, but as close as I can figure you have about 37 sleeps? Alida: Happy belated anniversary. Are you going to do anything special when your days off are the same? As for Jonny Fairplay...he was whining cause his girfriend is 7 months pregnant. He was worried that he wasn't being a good father by not being with her. I really thought it was another of his tricks but if it was it backfired on him for sure. Peg: Loved the smilie for your dd. Just not fair that you are getting such gorgeous weather. But, the one good thing about our cold is that all the bugs have been killed off and I'm not worried about getting the crud that Shelley has. Judy: Dd is doing wonderful. 2 months and 18 days now. She loves her apartment and her job. I just have to watch that she doesn't get herself housebound this time of year. I took her with me on Saturday to pick up Nolyn and on the way home she treated us for lunch. (first time ever that one of my kids has bought me a meal!!) Mary Kay: Wish it was me going to Orlando with you. I'd even carry your luggage! Shelley: I feel so sorry for you right now. Tonsilitis is not fun. I had my tonsils out when I was 13 but I can remember having it just about every month for almost a year before they were taken out. Get well soon! I have no idea what's going on with my weight but I'm loving it! I'm down 4 lbs. since last Monday. I think it might be cause I cut back on cheese. Give me a 2 lb. block of cheese and I can make a huge dent in it in one night. So, I just about cut it out and then upped my exercise...seems to be working. Okay...back to work. I'll pop in later to see what's happening.

| Following along with each of you. We are in the middle of a winter storm. Complete with all the lovely trimmings like snow and ice. All the schools closed early today and have closed for tomorrow. The winter storm warning continues through noon tomorrow. I went back to work today and I'm exhausted. Very intense day learning the new surgery software. Two more training days and then we're on our own, THAT should be fun. I promise one day soon my life will be back to normal. Shell, I'm sorry you're so sick, bless your heart. I know how miserable you must feel. I'm in day 14 with this. I'm better, but my ears are still stopped up and I cough as much as ever when I lie down. Ozzie and I are heading to bed in just a few minutes. Goodnight girls. |

| Hi Gang! Late afternoon here. We saw 80 degrees today. Beautiful sunny day. Yup, that's why I moved to SoCa. The weekend was okay. I did get a nice email from my dd. She invited me to go with her to my dgd's cheerleading competition at the end of the month. That felt good. I'm going! We went to Coronado Beach over Fri and Sat. Gorgeous place. I wanted to have my first honeymoon there, but I was seventeen and he was eighteen, so we had our honeymoon at Disneyland. Shel: I'm so sorry that this terrible URI is overtaking you. Damn, it sounds just wicked! Whine away, darlin' You deserve it! Judy: Good to hear from you too. I forgot to add beautiful to my attributes. I'm sure that is the one that you have chosen, because you ARE so beautiful. (that should be a song). Okay, darlins' ![]() to you all. We have a dessert tonight at the ofh. Should be fun. The rest of the week is really busy. Love to you all, ![]() Peg |

| Hi gang, rolling by before it's time to roll out a bowl of chili for dh. Shelley, dang. Bummer that you are now so sick, too. I remember that you get the darned tonsillitis with almost every bug you catch. Darn it. You just tuck in and take care. Donna so happy to hear your overnight with dgs was such a big success. I know you both loved it......lol about the pee, though. Kids and dogs, you never know quite what to expect Heather, speaking of kids, what a cute picture of Charlie. So innocent looking, at least when asleep, right? Judy, big woohoo on the presents The pink purse-sized camera sound like something Peg would adore, too. I also got a chuckle out of your surreptitious use of hand sanitizer. Alida, a belated Happy Anniversary!!! I hope dinner was luscious and magical. But goodness, I thought the owners were supposed to be doing the etchlike work now....or are you doing it to make up for some of the days you aren't working in the office? Peg, the yoga/knitting day was magical. I thought of you and what fun we'd have had. The teacher is our age, teaches "gentle yoga" and was a lovely person and great conversationalist. Lunch at a cute little bistro/wine bar. And the yarn shop in the farmlands? The largest and most amazing collection of yarns I've ever seen. Visual overload. SHHHHHH! Do not tell dh but two skeins of Blue Moom Twisted hand dyed merino came home with me wanting to become a long shawl collar vest. Check out this colorway Mary Kay, I'd be looking forward to Orlando, too. This winter in Chicago has been as rotten as yours. Bet you and your foot will feel much better in the sun shine. DH's mom said it's 95 degrees in her little town in Florida today. ![]() Barb, I do remember Spring giddiness, but I think it has more to do with inner temperature than outer temperature Five more Mondays? Now that's the best countdown I could imagine.Susie, I know you have to work this week. Hope you are feeling better! Bert, hope you are getting super weather by now, but hey, no more sunburns! That's not fair! I'm starting to send some resumes out this week. It seems a very strange thing to do after all these years! Maybe I'll luck out and no one will be interested and other assorted puzzlements. Have a good evening gang. I'm about to curl up with a good sock.

| Had a lot of energy so decided to spend it on the treadmill this evening. I took my time recovering from being sick last week and easing back into my exercise. Hate to over do it and being sick longer. Tonight I got in my bible readings, e-mails caught up and some threads here visited. Since my laptop is on my treadmill I try not to get on it for fun unless I'm ready to do some work as well. - Donna - peed on! lol There is never a dull moment around little ones is there. Glad to hear you had a great time with your Nolyn. / Great job on 4 pounds gone, finding the food (cheese) that was keeping your weight stalled AND upping your exercise. Woo hoo! - Susie - Take care on those wintry roads. - Peg - Glad to hear that you got an e-mail from your dd. That cheerleading competition sounds fun! - Brenda - Yes, innocent only when they sleep - lol! / How many years passed are you aloud to put previous jobs on a resume? I was thinking the other day that if I have it mine and DH way and not get a job until after the kids leave then 20 years might be pushing it to put a job on my resume. |

| It must be springtime after all--there's a lot of energy in here today, even with residual "sickies." So sorry, Shelley and Susie. Do your best. This too shall pass. I still have my tonsils, and pretty much all the parts I started out with. My younger sister just found out she's a hip replacement candidate--sooner than later. I guess that's a hereditary condition I didn't get either. Counting my lucky stars. Heather, Charlie is adorable. What a cute picture. Brenda, how do they put that color in the yarn? It's amazingly pretty in the skein, and I can only imagine what beautiful surprises happen when you knit with it. "Curl up with a good sock"-- My official retirement day is March 14--that's 21 weekdays from now. Yeehaw! Last night I attended a meeting concerning a forthcoming Capital Campaign at church. I can see the handwriting on the wall. There are some things I just can't say NO to, with all that "free time" I'm going to have. But I will definitely not over-commit. I've earned a little space in my life, at least for a while, and I'm going to take it. Actually, the thought of retirement is surreal at the moment. I have been at work full-time (including school and jobs) since I was sixteen years old. Then again, since I don't have kids, I really don't know the meaning of a "full-time" job! Time to get going. I really do try to put in a day's work. |

| Good morning! This is just a quick check-in. I got up late. I did have an off day yesterday but will get credit for 1.5 hours because I had to go on an appointment. It was for Etchlike, but thankfully not a job I could do. -- No, the new owners do not want to learn how to do Etchlike. Sigh. Quickie to Brenda -- on my resume I included "Relevant Volunteer Experience." That took care of all those empty years. I was pres. of Opera Guild, organized opera trips, and chairman one year of my sorority's fund raiser. All stuff that showed how "organized" I am. HA. I am off tomorrow. I will catch up then. XXOO

| Morning ladies. I'm a little later getting in here this morning..just dragging my butt I guess.' We woke up this morning to what sounded like a snowplow...jumped out of bed and it was the grader scraping the ice away from the curbs. I guess it didn't freeze last night (finally) so they decided it was a good time for cleanup before the storm drains are flooded. It would have been nicer if they didn't start at 6:30 in the morning. Felt sorry for anyone trying to sleep in. The thaw is definitely here. I even saw a little patch of grass under my blue spruce! If it happens fast...there is going to be a lot of flooding. One of our main highways is still closed due to avalanches and it won't be open until probably next week. That's good for us cause all the traffic is rerouted through our little town...we can use all the business we can get this time of year. One of my drivers came in this morning with a new dog It's a little jack russell cross and the cutest thing. He rescued it from an abusive owner. You can see the sadness in it's poor little eyes. I'm hoping it won't take long before he realizes that Bob won't be hurting her. She's only 3 but there isn't a whole lot of life in her right now. Just wants to be held and cuddled. Sun is shining...life is good...scale didn't budge but that's okay too, I know it will. Have a good day ladies.

| Good morning, everybody. We're hoping for a warm-up in KC today, but that won't make a difference to me, because I'm going to Colorado until Saturday. Taking my ice skates. I'll say hey from there if I find an internet connection. Donna, I hope that little dog recovers. Will it be a ride-along dog? Jack Russells are notoriously energetic. I just noticed yesterday in the newspaper that the Westminster Dog Show is on tv now--probably concluded last night. I always get a kick out of that show, even though I don't own a dog. The dogs are such great performers--they know they are the rock stars of dogdom. I haven't mentioned weight management lately, and I'm happy to say I'm doing fine. Maintaining at about 134. My eating habits are pretty routine, and I haven't been splurging. Drinking way too much wine, but otherwise, being a good little low-carber. And a good little exerciser, too. I'm up to 30 "big boy" push-ups (on my toes). Okay--those last three or four are really, really hard. I need to restore a more well-rounded (so to speak) weight-lifting routine. But push-ups are efficient for the entire upper body. I can hardly wait for warm weather and light and TIME for more outdoor activity. to everybody. |

| Good morning! Not too many posts yesterday. Or maybe I am missing a whole page? Nahh. Barb's morning post is right above me. Barb, have fun! And don't worry about that Internet connection. Just do "what comes naturally." ![]() "Man" push ups? Wow. Now I am really impressed. Quite simply, you rock. Donna, that is one lucky dog! Jack Russell's are very intelligent. He will probably figure out he's got a good deal in no time. Bob and I were talking about how this Spring just may have a lot of flooding. My cousin in Utah has about 6 FEET of snow around his house ... plus all the snow he shoveled off his roof. Once this melts, where's it going to go? And all the snow on the mountains? Even here in KC there seems to be a cycle. Some snow that hangs around, melts, then more snow. By the time Springs rolls around the ground will be saturated. Better check my sump pump. Shelley and Susie: I hope both of you are feeling better!I am off today and tonight Bob and I are going out to celebrate our anniversary. D*mn the carbs, full speed ahead. I may even have some wine. And since we have a $150 gift certificate, this is going to be quite a dinner. (Barb - The Raphael on the Plaza). I will not post tomorrow as I have to be at the office by 7 a.m. Ashley is taking her husband to the airport and may not return home before her daughter leaves for school at 7. Her 6-year-old would be home alone and that's a definite no-no. At least I will be able to leave earlier. Latest report on son Jim in Florida. Still on medicines (induced "coma.") Bob's ex (Jim's natural mother) has decreed that NO PRIEST (it's a Catholic hospital) shall enter his room -- even if he has to wake up alone. I told you she is crazy. Is she rushing to his side? Um, no. Of course, this breaks Mark's heart (minister). Son Paul is gathering up all stuff and putting it in storage. He will drive Jim's Miata home. Paul is 6'4". Barb -- will he fit in a Miata?? Have a great day. Barb -- safe travels. XXOO

| Hi Gang! Wierd things going on with the site this morning. I tried to log in and then cleared my "cookies" then went to another site for something else and came back here and wasn't signed in, so went to my "history" (I use Firefox) and clicked on it and got in as "logged in." But, I do have to say that I am so impressed with all that Dixie has done to the site to improve it! Wow! Lots to play with. I went to my women's group yesterday. It was really good. We made some commitments to each other, and some shared the importance of friendship and what it is for us. One of the things that we decided was that we will meet once a week on Tuesday. This is so wonderful/strange; that is to have free time to consider this. This is the group that I was "invited" to join. The other one, the one that I started, doesn't seem very serious about being together. We'll see. I'm settling in here at the ofh, I guess. Shel and Mary Kay: Worried about you two. Didn't see a post yesterday ![]() Barb: Have a great time in Colorado, and I echo Alida's advice. Do what comes naturally. ![]() ![]() Donna: I've known one Jack Russell and it was a terror. I hope that your driver has fun with it Alida: Good to see you. Seems as if your work is cutting way back. And, it seems as if you are enjoying it. ![]() To the rest of you: This is me: ![]() See ya later! Peg |

| Good morning. It's very cold in here today even though I'm wearing a long sleeved shirt and a quilted vest. I don't think there will be much melting going on outside today ![]() The scale dropped back down this morning to 163.5 so I'm claiming it. I've worked hard to lose the little that I've lost so I'm not letting anyone take it from me. In fact, I think I just might change my signature weight. lol Peg: My dmil used to have a Jack Russell so I know how active they can be and what they can get into. If you saw this little one you just wouldn't believe it. The old owner used to back it into a corner and then repeatedly kick it. You'd swear it was 10 years old. Just so sad looking and only wants to be held and cuddled. I can't wait to see the change in her once she realizes she's not going to be hurt anymore. Barb: Have a great time girl! Alida: Hope your dinner is great! I've never spent that amount on a dinner but I bet I could if I tried. lol Shelley: Are you feeling any better sweetie? Sure hope so. You've had a time of it lately. Not much else going on around here. I'm tired today. I'd love to lock the door and have a nap....like that's going to happen. Have a good day girls.
