| Judy, Peg....((((hugs)))) to both of you. You are both going through rough times. Wish I could be there to help. I'm hoping the terrible hospital stories aren't catchy...my ddil will be operated on today to have scars on her breast released. I'm waiting to hear news from ds as I type this. It's going to be a long day for sure. Last time she was operated on they had a hard time bringing her out of the anaesthesia. Barb: Enjoy that walk. It's a gorgeous sunny day here today too...but I'm not out walking. Work first..then play. Last night I watched Biggest Loser...that show gives me such inspiration. After that I did my aerobics and then the treadmill. Changed that a little by carrying weights during the treadmill workout. Then, even though it was dark I took the furkids for a walk. Something must have tweaked cause the scale dropped 2.5 this morning. I fought the snack monster very hard last night....and it was a hard fight, but I won. Dh is so excited today. One of the ballteam members won tickets for 10 people to have dinner with him and the local hockey team. Can't imagine all those guys together in an all you can eat rib restaurant, but I know they will have a great time. For me...it means I don't have to cook dinner! Yippee!! Hope he has a great time. The boss' brother was up yesterday with his 14 year old son. This boy was born with his bladder on the outside of his body and has had so many surgeries I wouldn't try to count how many. He still has to wear a type of diaper and probably will all his life. He just has a hole where the urine comes out. Dr. wanted to put a colostomy bag on him but his parents refused...don't know why. Anyway, this hasn't stopped him. He plays all kinds of sports and is just the nicest boy. (not like his dad). Just goes to show you that if you don't let things get you down you can do anything. Today I plan on visiting my bank and closing the accounts I started for my grandkids and moving them to another bank. They really annoyed me by taking out money from Mickey's account when there was no reason for it. I got the money back, but I'm not taking the chance it will happen again. I'm sure they will try to talk me out of it. Okay...off to work. Have a good day...only one more work day this week.

| Morning all, with special thoughts to Peg, Judy, and Bert for recovery for your loved ones and rest for yourselves! I'll be back later, too, but not for so worthy a cause as spring cleaning! I'm about keeping even around here and that's it. Hugs to all

| Okay, it's 8:00 pm and I came home early so that I could get a good night's sleep. Dh is better today, though still nauseous. But, even that is a little bit better. The Dr changed his pain med and hopes that that is what was making him sick. Tomorrow he moves to Vicodin orally. He's taken that before and it doesn't make him sick. Also, the hemotologist increased his Factor 8 so that he is finally clotting (sorry to be so blunt). He has a drain in the incision. I saw the stitches today. What a good job the dr did!! I suspect that after a while you won't even see his scar. I continued today to be his nurse, but tomorrow may opt out of that little task (thank you Shel)! I'm off now to put up my feet and have a glass of wine (or two) and watch TV and contemplate going to bed early and getting up after 6:00. I am going to go in a little later tomorrow, then serve communion for the health center here at 3:30 and then back to the hospital for the evening. I think I will take communion to dh and say something worshipful for him. It's Maundy Thursday. Anywhoo, see ya later. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! Love, Peg |

| Peg, so glad you could take a break, come home, relax knowing that dh is a bit better. Hope you get a good nite's sleep, too. Take care! Judy, I hope your Dad's better so he can go back to the nursing home. You'll need some rest, too.

| Good morning to everyone here in the hospital waiting room. Hope you've all had some coffee. I'm off to the VA Hospital this morning with my dad, for his annual check-up. I'm taking a book. I have to say my experiences with the VA here have been pretty good, and Ddad has no complaints. I went to the office yesterday for a retirement reception, and it felt highly unnatural, as I had predicted. People asked me, "What have you been doing?" And frankly, I couldn't remember. I'll have to check this thread. I know I've been quite active--but what?? Counting today, at least two half-days will have been spent looking after my father. Already I wonder, who did this before I got out? Hmmm. I guess I did--but only on weekends. So, this is basically an improvement. (I must add, my sister has been doing weekday duty for all this time, and I'm happy to be more flexible now.) I just spotted my usual bus zip past my usual bus stop down there on the boulevard. Bye-bye bus! However, I have to get the wheels in motion myself. I wish all of you a safe day, and good recoveries all around. |

| Good morning! I got up a little earlier (with the dreaded alarm) because I have to be out the door earlier. I am applying the film for the lead job (small bathroom window) before I do the lead on Monday. She chose a film that comes in smaller pieces, so the film install is more complicated. Peg! I am so glad DH is doing better ... and you got some rest along with the requisite wine last night. Judy, are you home? I am hoping your Dad is much better .... And Berta, how is your patient? Barb, what a difference a few days makes, huh? It's amazing how your "home away from home" will already feel strange. Shelley, you will have so much fun with BFF! Is her visit the reason the cleaning monster is taking over? Brenda, what's happening on the job front? Donna, changing banks .... did the bank remove the money or was it your son? Curious. And bless that little boy's heart! Children can be such an inspiration. Time to hit the shower. XXOO

| Got to hurry by so that I can work on some Easter projects with the kids. Just some foam kits. M's Grandma has tomorrow off so we'll work on these this morning before the boys go to school. That way M can take them home with her as gifts for her Grandparents. I think they'll like that. DH said he'd watch the kids again so I could go to the gym after I drop Jay off at school. Then it's back to get M for a nap, shower up and then off to a ice cream party at Charlie's school. Tonight we'll have the neighbor kid over for Jay and then tomorrow the kids are on Spring break. Hope to sleep in a bit tomorrow, had to be up at 5am for Miss M today. - Judy - glad to hear about your DDad and a successful surgery. - Peg - Glad that your DH is doing better. - Barb - Hope you had a nice time at the reception. - Donna - That was a sweet story about how that 14 year old boy of your boss' brother turned out so well despite some medical problems. Glad to hear he can enjoy being a boy! |

| Morning gals, Judy, glad to hear your Dad's back at the ltc and you might actually go home for the remainder of your woohoo break--ack! Barb, it's sometimes been disconcerting to me when asked what do I do all day because my time is spent doing a hundred little things and there doesn't seem to be an easy ten-words-or-less answer that doesn't sound flip or defensive. You've earned your retirement, though, and I'm sure you'll have a great comeback. Alida, nothing on the job front. Follett doesn't plan to make a decision until the end of March, not that I expect a job offer from them. There are other resumes floating out there, but nothing exciting. If nothing comes up I'll take some classes this summer/fall maybe. We're supposed to get 6-7 inches of SNOW tomorrow, can you believe it? Today is lovely, though, so I'm getting out shortly so I don't have to tomorrow. Later, kids.

We're in for a winter snow warning today and tomorrow. Mom told me that it's the first day of Spring! Looks like the weather should be 40's with sun next week. Hope wind is minimum because I would love to take the kids bike riding if we can. I was also thinking since the gym is I'm guessing 3-5 miles away I could bike there, ride the elliptical/stepper plus weight training and then bike back. That would be one killer workout! Could nap the rest of the day if I had that option - lol. |

| Hi guys, Sticking my head in the door before I go finish folding laundry...does it ever end??!!...apparently NOT!!! LOL! Alida...just hitting the spring cleaning mostly while I'm in the mood to do it, but yes, since bff is coming, that certainly spurs me on! hehe! Peg, Judy, Bert...hope all is better and much improved for all your *patients*. Good thoughts continue, though. Really, not much going on here at the moment. I made the dreaded Wally-world run today...ack! Scored some more space bags for hanging garments this time; hope that will tidy up the coat closet. Almost forgot about my haircut and brow wax...remembered it when I was out on my walk, and had to *high-tail* it home so I could shower and get there on time! duh! Sometimes I wonder about me!!...this CRS stuff could get a person in trouble...LOL! Hugs and waves to everyone else! Hopefully I can get a sit down by the pool visit in soon. later chickadees, (((hugs))) s

| Home at 11:00 tonight. Big day. Looked like things were going really well until dh threw up a weeks worth of water and meds (at least that's what the poor guy looked like). Soon after I helped to clean him up and waited for his dinner to come, it looked as though things were going to be all right. Nurse hung a anti-nausea med and I left to come home. Been home a half hour when the hospital called to say that they were moving dh back to SICU which is a step down from surgery. That's where I went only to learn that he was in the cardiac cath lab. No one could tell me what happened and I paniced. Went there and learned that he had atrial fibrillation and they cardoverted him. When I left about half hour ago they had moved him to CCU and he'll be there for the night. He's monitored up the ying yang. His nurse seemd to believe that she knew more about him than I do, so rather than tell her where to go, I decided to come home. Wiped out. Love Peg |
