What a great day! The kids were so excited to get up and find their eggs. Church was fun with all the kids dressed so cute and then had an enjoyable dinner and ANOTHER egg hunt at the in-laws.

Happy Easter!

Peg,
That is wonderful news, that Bob is coming along so well with his recovery, and is HOME!!!
I bet you both will rest much better in your *own nest*, yanno?
Thanks so much for updating us...you know what a bunch of worriers we are!
Take care of you, to!

Bert...glad you were able to check in today also. Hoping your hubby is doing better. Sometimes things move along painfully slow though, huh?
Take care of you, to!

Judy...sounds like things are better for your DD. Bless his heart, he has certainly had a time of it.

To all...
(((hugs))) &
nighty-nite...I'm frizzled...helped DH clean out the garage today...Oye!

Peg, what a great way to start the day -- reading that your DH is home.

For me............. back to the grind.

Peg's Bob is home, Judy's Dad is getting stronger and Berta had a lovely Easter with friends.

It's Monday (again). Funny how it always arrives at the beginning of the week. I have to do the leading on a job today. It should take me about 2 hours. I really do hope this is the last one I ever have to do!

Easter was nice and low key. I hid some candy and small gifts for Paige and the Blueberry Cottage Cheese pancakes were to die for. I have made them before, but for some reason they turned out exceptionally well this time around.

Off to work. Sigh. Thinking of you, Barb, and how you are not! XXOO

Good morning, my friends.

Nope. No work for me this morning--although I did lie awake in the middle of the night thinking of "stuff I have to do." Not over that yet!

Peg, great news about Bob's homecoming. You were working pretty hard in the hospital--so it's a change for the better. Yes, he must be a very resilient guy.

Sounds like a good Easter for many. I missed seeing the kids do the egg hunt thing. It's still TOO COLD in KC. Early Easter is deceptive. It should be more spring. Things are starting to bloom though.

Take care of you.

Hoping for bloom here, one of these days. Maybe there's some new growth, but it's under the snow, eh?

Quick one as I pass by. I have hospice training (or retraining in my case) today and tomorrow. This afternoon I fly from training to meet friend Diane about an hour (rush hour) south. We're on a mission to pick out her new glasses frames and then have a little coffee/supper break. But now I've got to get beautimous (LOVE that word), fly by the dr's office part one of four TB test and off to class

Judy, sorry you don't get another chance at spring break!

Alida, amen to this being your last lead job. The pancakes sound delicious. If they're somewhat lc, could you share the menu when you have a chance?

Barb, have a good, busy day.

Bert, Hope your Easter dinner was just as pleasant as it sounded.

Shell, don't tell me there's more to clean today. Not possible!

Peg, take care of yourself while taking care of dh, sweetie.

Donna, tell us about your weekend

Heather, how'd the boys enjoy their Easter?

Susie, wonder if you are working today and how you're feeling. Did Ozzie Easter dinner? The poo girls had a few bites of ham.

MK, where are ye?

To everyone, waves!!

Quick fly by before I shower, dress, and run to the grocery store. Then home to help dh with his shower, dressing, and do all the sundry things one does to clean up the house; make the bed, empty the urinal he uses during the night, clean his wound (15 inches!), and get him settled in bed for a rest. Right now he is swearing over the laptop in the living room. I just put sweats on him and he is sitting in his favorite glider rocker. He has a HUGE back brace that is stiff plastic with velcro to close, and a pad in all around to go on his skin. It is so big that he has to wear it outside his clothing. He has to use a walker and learn to stand straight. It is hard since his body has been crooked for so many months. But, when he remembers, he stands up straight. He's not taking any pain meds, which I really can't believe. He is a wonder.

See ya'll later. Hugs and kisses to all going back to work today, and to you Barb as you figure out what your "work" is, and to you Bren, as you go to that training that you could teach, and you Heather as you care for your brood, and you Bert, as you do what I do.

Love to all,
Peg

About ready to take a power nap. I feel tuckered out and think I'll take a quick snooze. Kids will just have to get a book and enjoy some quiet time. I don't usually nap more then an hour.

We put all the kids candy in ziplock bags. I'm so glad we didn't buy them very much since the Grandparents did. I have a hard time keeping it around because it calls to me. Kids had such a good time yesterday!! I enjoy the holidays so much with my little ones.

Jay wanted to ride is new skateboard he got for Easter but it's cold and the wind is gusting around 50mph. We ran some errands and the dirt really stung our faces.

Peg - no pain medicine! Your DH is really amazing. Wow, I pray that he recovers fast so he doesn't have to bare this for long.

Tuesday morning, and I'm up as usual for my Bible study group at church. After that, I plan to spend some time studying and writing in the church library. Then....???

Judy, it probably felt good to get that cleaning done, even though it was a big chore. At least with cleaning, you can stand back and say, "Done!" Much else in life is an endless uphill chug. Can spring be far behind??

I got my tax docs to the accountant yesterday, and he seemed to think I had everything in order. Is that a miracle or what? I want financial dealings to be simple, but it will be a while before I have all the ducks lined up the way I want.

I always look forward to hearing about your lives--the ups and downs, and most of all, the loving connections you all have made.
All good thoughts!

P. S. I stepped on the scales this morning. Still the same. I'm not taking that for granted, and trying to mind my good LC habits.

Morning Barb and other early birds

I'm off to hospice training, part deux. Speaking of lovely connections, one of the other volunteer trainees is a knitter and we're going for a yarn adventure after class today And....the director of human resources grabbed me before I could sit down yesterday to ask if I'd mind volunteering in her office She's serious, too

I'm a bit pooped today, though so hope the caffeine works its magic soon.

See all you loves later.

The $3 bag sale at Salvation Army is up to $5. Still amazing and I got a huge brown bag full of goodies including a shirt for my sister. I love corduroy pants and found one in brown that will match many shirts and my favorite brown necklace. Now all I need is some earrings to match. / Today is going to be a great day! Up at 5:30 and got in my Morning Pages. I've been reading the Writing Diet by Julia Cameron and 1st chapter has you getting up early to write all your feelings out so that you can work them out and not eat over them. It also helps you to get all your thoughts in order so you can be more productive during the day. Next I'm to journal whenever I feel like eating when I'm not hungry. We'll see if I'm stuck journaling all day - lol. / No school today so no running around. Love that! DH can take the car to work and I won't need to drive anyone to school or work and then pick them up. This just saves time for me to get more productive things done then sitting in the car.
-
Barb - Sounds like you have the perfect morning planned. When I dig into the bible it always gives me such a nice peaceful feeling.
-
Brenda - Have fun at the yarn store!! Shopping for me is better then caffeine any day.

Ya know, this might just be a wonderful inbetween job that could lead to something else that you would love that could be paying. What a great opportunity to learn what might have changed since you were in human resources.

More of the same today for me. Serving my dh. Since he is stuck with the walker, he can't get things for himself. I really don't mind, but I am super tired.

Off to get in gear.
Peg

Peg, I'm really happy that your DH is doing so well. Remember to take care of yourself, as well.

Bren, what an awesome connection. I truly think it will lead to bigger things for you.

Heather, going to GW is like a treasure hunt.

Working today and home for lunch. Nothing really exciting happening in my world at the moment, but I'm thankful for these quiet days.
