A little late, but, Good Day!

Peg, you must be exhausted. But you are doing good works! Walkers are a real PITA. Does he need the walker just to walk, or does he also need it just to stand? What is the recovery time frame?

Barb, Finally got the info to the tax man, huh? Bob and I were early this year. We already received our refunds ... state and federal. BTW, I got a little note about those checks we are all going to get ... and reading the fine print, it is based on the taxes you pay and not just income. Since Bob and I got all our taxes refunded due to deductions, it appears that we will just get $600. But, I'll take it!

Heather, sounds like you got a real great deal at SA!

Brenda, while everyone seems to think volunteering in Human Services would be good to bring you up to speed with current trends, I am not so sure ... especially if you need something that pays a salary. Maybe you can just tell her it's a fill-in until a job turns up???

Time to get dinner and plop down in front of the TV and watch ...? Since the writers strike, I have gotten away from a lot of the shows. Survivor still rivets me to the set, but I have lost track of Desperate housewives and GA. Anyone know if they are back with new shows?

Have a great evening! XXOO

per my entry in the OWL thread:
Quote:
30MPH winds today, so I passed on walking. However...I detailed out my kitchen...washed and wiped down all the appliances, countertops, back splash and washed and shined the toaster, blender, canister set, yatta, yatta, yatta.
Cleaned the French door windows inside and out. Then moved to the master bath and am in the process of detailing it out. I've already taken the light fixtures down, cleaned them, and put them back up. Now I guess I'm ready to do the vanities, clean the jacuzzi, and the shower.

The carpet cleaning folks come tomorrow; so I plan to get up early to vacuum and dust and move out the smaller furniture from the living room and guest room that I can do by myself. Then, I'll just have the floors to do on Thursday. I got some Bona cleaner for the hardwood floor in the dinning room, so I'm anxious to see how it does. It seems some certain little someone, (with 4 paws) dips her paws in her water, then makes pussy-paw prints on the floor!!! She also loves to go into the shower when it's wet, and she jumps on the vanity and tries to play in the water when we wash our hands. She is definitely the most water loving cat we've ever had!!

Well...I've sit still long enough! Gotta go finish my list of chores for the day.
Just wanted to stick my head in the door for a second to say hey!
Been busy most of the day. Went grocery shopping, then came home and got right to the chores.
LOL...Bren...yep...there is still more to clean! I kinda got side tracked with all those papers and files I had to shred a few days ago, so that put me a day behind on some other things. Oh well...if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done, eh?

I will most likely be scarce the rest of the week and into next week. I have a Dr appt on Thursday and need to do last minute errands on Friday, then BFF arrives on Saturday! I'm soooo excited! I see a few shopping trips looming on the horizon!

OK...this time I'm serious...
over and out

(((hugs to all))) and still sending prayers for the hubbys and the dad!

I'm going to have to start keeping a journal. Otherwise, days and days will go by, and I'll say, "What did I DO???" Not that it's important to know...but still...

I've always loved morning, and now, I love evening, too. The light in my windows is lovely at this time of day, and very peaceful.

I pray for all of you the peace and healing of spring.

Just a word to update you of our household. DH is back in the hospital... the swelling got worse in his knee..and so very, very painful when he put weight on it. Orthopedic is doing a scope tomorrow, drawing out fluid for a culture and washing it out (that's the medical term ) dh has to stay in hospital till culture comes back. Decided if all goes well, I'll fly him ho;m;e and drive back by myself. He can fly in and stay with either dd or dsister till I get there.

Peg, Hope yours continues to improve..

Blessings to all...

Berta, I am so sorry about your DH's knee. Good plan for getting him home and to familiar doctors in hospitals where you are closer to your permanent nest.

Peg, When DH very seriously broke his leg 8 years ago he had to use a walker or crutches for about 2 months. I certainly couldn't stay home that long to be his constant caretaker. We outfitted an old backpack to the walker and he was able to carry things from one place to another.

Shelley, PLEASE come do my house next! A fraction of what you are doing was a big part of Plan A for spring break. That didn't happen.

Hugs to the rest of you..... Barb, Alida, Brenda, Susie and Heather --- I'll try to hit you guys tomorrow. For now I've got to get back in the habit of a regular bed time and get up time. For some reason the former seems to be too late, and the latter seems to be too early.

Berta, hang in there. I'm so sorry for your dh and his loving caregiver. Let's hope the cure is coming.

It's late in the morning. As soon as my OMM settles, I'm into my running shoes and out the door. I hoped for a WARM day, but not to be. After that...more decisions about the meaning of retirement.
Shelley, I'm thinking it won't be spring cleaning--at least not this year. But I surely do admire your energy.

Where's Donna?? Did I miss something?

everyone.

Berta - sweetie, I'm thinking of you and your DH. Hope they get to the bottom of this ASAP!

Flying by before walking Charlie back from the bus stop. Jay still has the week off from Spring break. Have nursery duty tonight at church which I'm looking forward too. I would take a few home if the moms said so.

It sounds like you gave him love Berta which I believe is what a rebellious kid needs. I was the rebellious one of us kids too.

Decided to stay home tonight after all. DH is being sweet and taking Jay to Awana. Charlie will stay home with me. I now have a migraine which happens when the weather is about to change sometimes. Or could be because I didn't seem to get a lot of sleep last night. Night!

Bert,
Hope everything works out well on the travel plans. Glad the scope had benign findings; yay! Take care of you, m'dear!

Another full day of cleaning; carpets look pretty good. I'm just counting down til new flooring goes in; hopefully by the end of summer and I'm not so darn sure it will be carpet again! sigh.

Anyhoo...everyone take care; be well and be happy!

((())) to all!

Berta, what a helpful deed your DDS is doing for both of you. Glad to hear the lab report is good thus far. Keep us posted.

Shell, I vote for no more carpet! When we bought this home we lived with carpeting until the boys were well past the toddler falling down stage. We took up all the carpet in the LR, hall and BRs. We have beautiful oak floors, had them refinished. Wouldn't go back to carpeting. Just my 2 cents.

Barb, sounds like you're loving your new schedule.

I need to put some laundry away that I just folded, tidy things up a bit and head to bed. Work tomorrow.

everybody.

Good morning!

Hmm, Barb, I agree. Where is Donna? I hope everything is OK. Ditto about Peg & Brenda!

Berta, how relieved you must be that you will be able to fly home with DH. What a wonderful offer by your DDS. I am so sorry DH's knee is not cooperating. Do they know if it has anything to do with the operation ... or is something else going on ... or, they don't know ....

Shelley, OMG. I marvel at your energy. But having a clean house is so satisfying! Once BFF arrives, you can relax and have a fantastic time!

Thursday already. If I have to work, at least I am thankful the days go quickly! I am going to the big Home Show this weekend with my DDIL. Lots of things to look at!

Have a good day everyone. XXOO

Hang in there, Judy. Two more days.

This morning, I have a late breakfast with my galpals. The rest of the day, I'll work on clearing some boxes (full and empty) from various stashing places in my house and storage room. My "handyman" is eager to help me get some wire shelves and other simple storage solutions in place.

I've got a piece of brisket soaking in liquid smoke, and I'll cook that all day. I've made Fauxtato Casserole to go with it. Dang if I'm not turning into a happy housewife after all!

Heather, hope your headache is better today. Yes, changing seasons can do that to people. Sometimes it's tummy upsets.

Bert, wishing you a comfortable journey home. As for parenting, you never know. Kids have a way of making their own decisions. And they can always surprise you, one way or another. Sounds like you got a son with a good heart.

Well, off to rummage in my closets. Blessings to everyone for the day.
