Morning gang! Up early this morning to journal, study, clean out a closet, work on laundry, dishes and now getting ready to run some errands. It's snowing and suppose to snow for the next few days. Icky!

I'm here you guys. Just working hard, making bed, showering dh, washing clothes, drying them, folding them. Dear dh is doing so well. I can't believe how well he is doing. We went to the Dr. today to check his blood levels. They seem to be doing pretty well. I can't believbe all that dh has been doing for me all these years. I knew it, believe me, I knew it. It's just that I do a little more than he does (like vacumming) and other things. I haven't had time to check my email!

Thinking of you all. Where is Donna? Anyone checking with her?

Love to you all, Peg

Donna, I left you a message in your journal. Hope all is well kiddo.

Peg, great news about your DH. That is fantastic!

Berta, hope your trip home is an easy one.

Shell, I know you'll have a great time with your BFF this weekend. I'm so envious of your sparkling clean house. Hey, I'll buy your plane ticket if you will....

Bren, I meant to tell you that Ozzie got short changed on his Easter dinner. We decided to have dinner out, Uncle D. went with us. Poor Oz, no ham just doggie treats. How was your knitting venture with your volunteer friend? We got all of your snow last night...in the form of rain.

Barb, I still haven't given our taxes to our accountant. Heck, I haven't even started putting them together. I'm in no hurry to pay the IRS.

Judy, it's FRIDAY! Spring break started here today for our school systems. Our niece teaches at one of the high schools. She and her family left promptly for Florida last evening.

Alida, have fun at the home show. Your BB/cottage cheese pancakes sound interesting.

Heather, are you still getting snow? I hope we're finished with snow until next winter.

Mary Kay, hope all is well.

I'm off until Tuesday, back to my PT schedule. Yesterday was DH's birthday and of course, it fell on one of my work days. We met for lunch, his choice. I really am going to work on taxes this weekend, if I don't my accountant may disown me. Every year I dread it, then when I finish I tell myself it wasn't THAT bad and I vow to do better the next year...it never happens. Shelley and Rob have been cleaning for several weeks and have inspired me. Hope everybody has a great weekend.

just a quick note...
I got an email from Donna yesterday. She didn't mention being ill or anything, so I'm guessing all is well and she is just super busy?

I'll really, really try and get back later this afternoon. Today's agenda will be the floors and bathrooms. Chalk it up to my OCD but I like the bathrooms to be velly, velly clean and fresh looking and smelling clean; in fact I put the clean and fluffed bath mats and rugs down right before my guests arrive...don't want any *footprints...aka pussy-paw-prints* on them. har!

happy Friday to all!

Hey gang, I finished training Wednesday afternoon, but between a headache and near calamity haven't been to the pc very much. If you ever smell that electrical smell near your computer...... yup, video board fan was literally melted and I think we were a few minutes away from a fire. Now that's pretty exciting, but I'm so glad I was home staying out of the snow!

Shelley, I know you'll be having a great week with your bf. Enjoy shopping and all things girlie!

Susie, glad you didn't get our snow, but you guys don't need any more rain, either. Ozzie missed out on Easter goodies? Thank goodness the furry ones don't check their calendars too often. Token had her 8th birthday on the 24th, which I completely forgot. We'll "celebrate" with a nice healthy treat sometime soon.

Peg, I'm so very glad Bob is recovering so well! Take care and check in when you can.

Bert, prayers for you and dh. And thank goodness for your son.

Judy, Alida, Donna, MK, TGIF and ABD, eh? Heather, weekdays and weekends are probably equally hectic for a Mom?

And Barb, a journal is a lovely idea. Of course, you might be too busy to track what you're doing with your time

I need to run some errand but am having trouble getting motivated at the moment. See you all later, gators.

Peg – I’m glad the DH ordeal is getting better, and definitely glad he is.
Barb – sounds like you are enjoying your retirement. Just don’t overdo it and try to do it all in the first month.

Shoutouts to everyone else – I’ve been reading your posts and love living vicariously through you all. My life just seems so boring these days. Can’t believe it was only a couple weeks ago we were on vacation. Seems like forever.

Everyone here sounds so busy. I don’t even want to think about cleaning. Nope. Can’t make me. But I really, really have to have someone in to clean the carpets as soon as the weather is nicer.

I’ve just been doing work, and dealing with CA time so I’m usually busy in the evenings and just laying about during the morning hours. Well, not really, we have a conf call every morning to start things off.

I’m still around, just nothing much going on. Toe still bugging me, but I’m pretty much used to it by now, and quit taking the pills for it a couple weeks ago.
Taxes done, I sent them to the acct this year, but did Tax Cut myself just to see how it came out. So, they saved me about $200 – and I have to pay them about $600 (or more).
Think I’ll just do Tax Cut again next year.
I get a lot back this year because I put more into my SEP (retirement plan) – but I don’t have to wait for a refund. Since I pay quarterly – I’m just taking it off my first payment.

Has anyone here read Valerie Bertnelli’s book Losing It? I’m just starting on it. I’ve always like her and she just looks great.

Hubby finally decided to get Lasik done (I had one eye done several years ago – nicest present to myself). Next week. No problems expected.

haven't been posting, just not much to say.

Oops! Somehow this whole day got away from me, and I wasn't here!
How did I ever find time to go to the office??? That's what everyone says, isn't it!

Good news, Peg, that your dh is motoring along.

We finally got some sunshine today, but it's still chilly. I drove out to check on my dad, who had some minor procedure done on his eye to retard the advance of macular degeneration. We had lunch in the dining room at his residence. Seeing the people there makes 61 seem youthful. Of course, other things help that feeling, too.

Hello to everyone. It's almost the weekend.

Peg, Glad your dh is doing so well!!!!

Shelley.... you are in over kill in cleaning

Barb... so busy you forget to check in... Good For YOU, I'm glad you are having a great/busy time

They got the blood culture back on dh... he has MRSA... staph that is resistant to most antibiotics.. so they are starting him on new antibiotic... this is the knee that he had replaced in May.. Surgeon mentioned it probably needs replaced again, then he saw my white face with the deer in the headlight look and said it might be ok considering his age etc......

Next Saturday (4/5) fly out and be o;n the way home

Bert...add my (((hugs))) along with Bren's. Yanno...I suspected it could be MRSA but was hoping like heck it wasn't. I've seen it go both ways on the joint replacements as well; hoping his can be saved and the new abx will do the trick. Good thoughts definitely coming your way, kiddo!

I'm so tired I could cry, but......it's all done! I didn't think it would take so long to do the hardwood floor, but I wanted to make sure I didn't get any streaks using the Bona, so I followed the directions to a tee(yeah...first time for everything!) hehe! Then I mopped the kitchen, the entry, and all the bathrooms. Got 3 loads of laundry washed, dryed and folded, and the linens changed on our bed as well. Got Kassie's food station all washed and spiffed up, and she'll get a good brushing afterwhile.
The good thing about all this cleaning jazz, is you actually get a pretty good calorie burn when you do it 3 and 4 hours non stop! LOL!

We hit 85 yesterday and I had to turn on the AC; last night it dropped into the mid 40s and only got to 55-ish with a north wind....brrrr! Chicken one day...feathers the next with our weather!

Barb...I think you are more than adjusted to the retired life! hehe! good for you!

Bren...you've been pretty busy yourself. How are you holding up? Knowing you, you've still got that 1000 watt smile going strong!

SistaSue...glad to hear you are back on your normal PT work schedule.
A Happy belated to your sweety! Go ahead and set an extra place for dinner...I'll be right over...and heck yeah...I'll take you up on that plane ticket!

MK...good to see you popped in for a visit. Darn that your toe is still wonky! Maybe it will be one of those things that you wake up some morning it will be totally normal. One can hope!

Peg...sounds like Bob is being a pretty darn good patient and I think he has a pretty darn good nurse too! Hang in there, darlin'!

Judy...did ya make it through the day, kiddo??? I surely hope you can stay home and rest this weekend, yes? Hope your DD is doing better each day. You get a *hang in there darlin'* also!

Heather...you got snow yesterday and I turned on the AC! That's just wrong! It's *officially* spring, so you need to tell the snow to knock it off already! Hope you all defrost fast and that will be the end of it!

Alida...what's going on in your part of the world??? How did the lead job go for you? Hope your hip did OK. Sorry if I missed it, but what are you going to paint???...and what color have you picked??? Inquiring minds want to know, yanno!

Donna...come out, come out where ever you are! Don't make me come up there and get you! hehe...boy, I would love to come to BC, though! But, do check in to let us know whatzzzzup, 'K???

OK...I got maybe 3 hours of sleep last night...ack! Brain going 90mph about stuff to do, and such. Also, I learned yesterday that my favorite aunt on my dad's side of the family had passed away Easter morning, and the funeral had also already happened (on Tues.) I'm a little hurt no one called me; I would've definitely gone to the services. I emailed my cousin and she emailed me back an apology, but still...well, yanno. I plan to drive down to see my uncle hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

BFF arrives tomorrow afternoon. Sooooo excited...and I most likely won't cook at all, and just may order dessert at least once! LOL!!!

Everyone have a super weekend...rest, relax as you can; have fun and play if you want to, and most of all...be well and be happy!

(((hugs all around)))

Good morning!

Peg, I was so happy to see a post from you. And I am so glad DH is doing so well. In our house, it has always been Bob taking care of me after operations. When he had the stents put in his heart, all I did was make a few dinners! At some point, roles may reverse. In your case and mine, we all need each other.

Berta, oh nuts. But at least they know what it is now and can treat it with the rights meds. Prayers going your way that the new meds "do their thing." (((HUGS)))

Donna, you are missed! How is everything at your house? No Survivor last week because of basketball. I hate March Madness.

Barb, I laughed at your comment about how on earth you ever found the time to go to work! Lovely, isn't it?

Shelley, you must be exhausted! Your friend is in town this weekend, right? Have a blast!

Brenda, oh no! Thank goodness you did not have a fire. Always something. The training was for ??? Help me out here, I am having severe CRS. Hospice?

Susie, yes, I am looking forward to The Home Show this weekend. Not sure what day I am going. So Rob is on a cleaning binge, too? Well, I will admit I spent an hour after work last night cleaning the office. Hadn't vacuumed since Christmas. Terrible, isn't it?!

Judy, ah. You get to stay home this weekend, don't you?

Heather, don't forget to wear your boots!

Mary Kay, wow. Your accountant is expensive. I think our bill for the taxes was $250. And we got all our money back! I was happy to hear your toe is behaving itself. These things always seem to take so long to get better.

Those Cottage Cheese pancakes I make are not low carb. But I will post the recipe tomorrow in case anyone wants to try them. And my etch job yesterday went great and the lead job went well, too. I will post pics tomorrow. It's late and I want to free up the phone line. YES, I will get high speed internet in a few months!

My sister is doing great. And all the stuff her old neighbor was keeping for her got delivered last night. Hooray! I can finally close that chapter of my life.

Off to say Good Morning to Bob! Have a great day. XXOO

How did it get to be afternoon already?? I've been to the Garden Center to get stuff to repot my houseplants. Let's hope they survive the "loving care."

If I start now, I have time for a run before a church event this afternoon. It's still dang cold out there, and I'm tired of it. Supposed to rain for the next three days, too.

Shelley, I'll never get with spring cleaning with your ferocity. Good job!

I paid my accountant a fortune, but you know what? It's worth it when the IRS comes calling, which they have in the past.

Best wishes to all the convalescents and caregivers.

Gotta run. Life is so busy now!

Hope eveybody is having a wonderful weekend.

I'm worried about little Ozzie. His personality has changed a lot in the last week-10 days. He yelps out when we pick him up. I'm calling his vet first thing Monday morning. He's definitely not my little spunky Oz.

I posted a really cute picture of Ozzie tonight in my journal.

Aw, poor little Ozzie. Man, I just hate it when 2- or 4-legged babies are hurting. Sus, is Ozzie running a temp?

Alida, I'm so pleased that both your sister is settled and the last of the belongings are with you now. Big sigh of relief from KC.

Shelley, yup have a great week of girlfriend time

Waves to one and all....

Taxes? Somebody mention taxes??? Oh yeah, well, hmmm, ok. Yes, I really did start them.....now I best finish. I'm a TurboTax girl.
