| Well, Barb, perky or not, it's nice to see your face! So sorry it hurt, Heather. I got a shot in my bEhind yesterday. It didn't hurt. I suspect it is because my bEhind is so big that there are absolutely no nerves anywhere close. Sort of a depressing day for me today. Not sure why. I had a very difficult Committee on Ministry meeting on Monday night and it has shaken me to the core about my faith. Mind you, I don't say that lightly. You know me. I am upbeat about that. It's just that I am beginning to suspect that the denomination is a lot more liberal here than I am. That takes a lot! Also, I am the Chaplain at the Health Center this week. It is a physically demanding job. I love meeting the people. It is an incredible ministry that I enjoy SO much. And, dh's surgery has still not been scheduled. I don't know whether to take over and tell the stupid receptionists what I think of their service, or continue to let him do the phoning. He is in such pain. I admit to some ambivalence. I am very stressed about the surgery. (That's what the shot was yesterday. Cortisone. I'm so stressed that my Fibro has come back with attendant pains.) I know my dh. He simply doesn't accept help from anyone for anything. That's the second thing. The first thing REALLY is I'm afraid that he will die. (Hmmmmm. I wonder if that is causing the stress! )And, other than that, I'm doing all right. Oh, Bren. Let us know about the interview. Is your dh still home every day all day? My dgd the is coming for the weekend tomorrow. Love ya all, Peg |

| Sorry for popping in so late. Way to much to do to get ready for invoice tomorrow. Plus I had to roll all the coins from the coinboxes before the boss' brother shows up...he has sticky fingers. Somehow I have to manage to carry almost $2000 in coin into the bank without dropping it. My eye is very sore today. Now I have black things floating across my eye everytime I blink or turn my head. Enough is enough. I have a dr. appointment for tomorrow morning at 10:20. No point worrying needlessly. At the same time I'll get the funny rash behind my knee checked out. Peg: So sorry you're so stressed. I can imagine what you are going through worrying about your dh. If you were in Canada you would probably wait years for the surgery. Maybe it's time for you to start calling like you said. I usually get results cause I get mad when it's someone I love. Barb: You aren't allowed to get sick! You're the one that starts us off every day and keeps all of us upbeat! Heather: Ouch for the arm. Guess it is time to switch arms for sure. Take care of you tonight. Brenda: Waiting to hear about the interview. Sorry I have to cut this short...time to get to the bank before they close. This could be interesting.

| ELA testing is done........ Although I had a room full of "potential issues", everyone acted appropriately and we had no problems. My testing partner was very pleasant to work with, so considering all the hoops you have to jump through, everything turned out well. This afternoon I went to a restorative yoga class...... that should be mandatory for all teachers. The only stressful thing about it is that it starts at 4:15 (which is about 45 minutes before I normally leave school). I have decided that come h311 or high water I am going to make myself leave early that one day a week so that I can do something just for me. Of course that means I do still have to type a quiz tonight. Oh well. Barb, I'm still jealous of your lack of stress. I think you are right... over the past nine months you have hatched a new you. Alida, I definitely understand the hassles of dealing with people on behalf of someone else. You could use that yoga class, too. Peg, Heck, while I'm passing out invitations to restorative yoga, sounds like you are a prime candidate. Quote:
Brenda , I always knew you were some kind of angel. You are one of the best kind for volunteering in a Hospice. That certainly says a lot about you! (BTW, I hope the part time gig works out, too.)Shelley, Yep, I know all about that tornado stuff. When you grow up in Lubbock, it a constant. We have them here, too, just not quite as bad. Alida, I was living in Lubbock when the BIG tornado came in 1970. It actually started it's touchdown across the street from where I was living. It is amazing to see the strange damage and sometimes total devastation that they do. It's getting to "the season " for both of us, isn't it? Donna, You want to come join the yoga class, too? Sounds like this was one of those days for you, too. It's been a couple of weeks since we've had an update on your daughter. I hope that is because she is leading such a sane life that it is becoming her norm. Congratulations to her for her current number of days. Heather, Sorry your arm hurt. I hope it is better soon. Mary Kay, Susie (and anyone else I left out) |

| Yep, Judy. You're right. Later to sleep, earlier to leave. But I'm at the office now--I have an appt. today with the "retirement paperwork guy." I'm also going to call the quack and see if there's something to help this icky sore throat. Quote:
Peg, I know how stressful that worry about your spouse can be. It's even worse than worrying about yourself, 'cause you can't really DO anything helpful How about some restorative yoga?? Donna, I'm worried about those black thingies in your eye. Get thee to a doc quick. Alida, as soon as I'm on the loose during the day, I'm making a date with you for lunch or something. Brenda, the Hospice people were so helpful to my aunt during my uncle's final journey. The KC Hospice House, where Larry was (briefly) is a beautiful place, too. I don't know what families ever did without Hospice, and I so admire people who can do that helpful work. Well, let's see...what can I cram in a cardboard box today? Take care of you, Girlfriends. |

| Judy, you are SO RIGHT. I am indeed throwing out plenty. Who has space to display a dozen commemorative coffee mugs??? Well, those I might keep. They are at least useful. A lot of crap is going straight to the bin. As a writer with prospects for future writing and speaking opportunities, I do have quite a few resources to conserve: letters, workshop materials, books. I am ditching hundreds of card samples, and giving away a considerable library of poetry books and periodicals. This is painful, but necessary. Anything I haven't looked at in two years or so...out!! |

| The interview went well yesterday and the office manager wants me to come in Friday for testing. Tests???? Sure hope there's no math involved unless they give me a calculator. But I get the picture that the tests are of the personality/intelligence/honesty variety which seems to be overkill if you ask me. Anyway, Alida you'd asked what type of position.....the physical therapy group is expanding their services and hours and job is the "evening" office person from 4pm to 8pm. Reception, billing, assisting the therapists and whatever else. I have a feeling they won't offer much, there won't be benefits, but the staff is great, it's three blocks from home, and basically, it would be a start. I told dh that I'd still have my days free and wouldn't be home to fix supper, so there's no down side as far as I'm concerned ![]() Judy, good to see you more frequently and I'm so glad the yoga is helping with what sounds like a really hectic and stressful time. To answer your question, yes dh is still home every day, all day and doesn't seem inclined to change that. If I let myself think too much about it I get pretty scared. Peg, thinking of you. I hope that in spite of any circumstances or combination of circumstances that may have caused you to question your faith that you will find your way. Much love to you. Alida, it must seem at times that getting your sister placed, along with all the reminders of the heartaches over your family home will never end. Thinking of you, too. Barb, you're a ray of happiness here. May the paperwork go smoothly and the scratchy throat vanished. Everyone else, sorry to miss you for now, but I'm including every one of us a a big ole group hug. I've promised myself a day off from EVERYTHING today, so maybe I'll check back later to see what's up with everyone.

| Flying by.................waited too long to do this post. Been reading for half and hour! So good to see you all. Today Bob's "friend" comes for two days. Brenda, this is the one with whom we were staying when you came to pick me up in Chicago. He follows us around wherever we are in the States. I don't enjoy him, and truthfully dh doesn't either. But the friendship is a long standing one and it would be rude to deny him. Also, I go to pick up dgd this afternoon. Can't wait to get my hands on her. Don't have anything big planned. Just rest for her. She is about as type "A" as they get. See y'all later. Peace, Peg |

| Morning ladies. The invoices are downloading as I type. Not sure how much I will get done this morning though. Barb: My dr. appointment is at 10:20 this morning. When I get to the point where I'm starting to get scared then I know it's time to get my considerable butt to the dr. I'll let you all know what happens. Judy: You're probably right...yoga would help me. I've never tried it but I have visions of someone wanting me to put my body into shapes that just aren't possible? I'm still exercising every night and find that really is helping with the cramping in my shoulders. Thanks for asking about dd. She's now 3 months and 11 days sober (not that I'm counting lol). I'm still taking it one day at a time and do still have panicky moments. She understands this and makes sure she calls me regularly so I can hear her voice...funny how I've always been able to pick up if she's been drinking just by her voice. The dr. I'm seeing today is the one that was always there when she was taken to hospital...it will be interesting to see if he says anything. Brenda: That sounds like the perfect job to get you back into the swing of things. Even if the weather is the pitts you could walk to work and not worry about driving home. (that's my idea of a perfect job). And only working 4 hours is great too. Hope you get it! Peg: Enjoy dgd. I think it's just about time that I picked up mine for the weekend too. Her mom is going in for surgery on one of her scars on the 19th of this month so maybe I can get the grandkids then. Shelley: Watch that throat! Geez, you just got over some crud...you don't need it again. Woops...the invoices are finished downloading so I've got to run. Hi to anyone I missed.

| Hey gang, told you I'd check in later but I didn't think it would be from somewhere besides home. The fence installer cut our cable so we're without internet and tv until whenever. Nevertheless here at the library, books and internet abound and I'm a happy camper. Tonight it'll be good reading or good knitting. See you whenever we're reconnected.

| oh, sheeeesh, Bren! well, crum! I've spent a good portion of my day doing some online studies and courses that we are required to do for continuing ed. I probably have another day's worth to do; if the education dept director would email me the courses, then I wouldn't have to *guess* at which ones are required for our facility. argh!!! Always something. waves and hugs to all! Hope to get back for a *real* visit in a day or 2. (((hugs))) s

| Tomorrow we have another appointment on building our own home. We're excited because they called today letting us know we have a good credit score to be put on the list! Woo hoo! I tried to get a Target charge card to help build our credit the other day but was denied. The letter came in the mail that said that they were unable to verify our address/phone #. Hoping DH gets better results when he applies for a credit card. We have no worries that we're going to go wild and buy everything we see. We're actually planning on using it for gas. We've heard of gas cards so when we fill up next we'll ask about that too. Anyway, it's all very excited and hope that this process goes swift and not to painful. - Peg - I'm glad that your dgd is coming over to keep your mind off of things. Take care the best you can of yourself okay? Quote:
Donna - I'm so glad that you made a doctor appointment and am anxious to hear how it went. - Judy - Do a lot manage to come to the yoga? The couple of times I've done it following along on FitTV I loved it. - Shelley - Hope that it's allergies because Spring is arriving. - Barb - I can imagine how unreal it must seem to be retiring. You just don't seem the type to just lay around in bed all day. I'm looking forward to hear what you do during the day. You are already in a band. Look out world, here comes Barb! - Brenda - testing to keep away the crazies? Are you worried - lol. Just kidding of course. |
