Well, what a day I've had. I went to the doctor and within two hours I was in town with my eye frozen and pupil dialated. Boy, does that ever feel awful! My doctor thoght I had torn my retina and wasn't taking any chances with it so he phoned an opthamoligist who would take me right away. The shadows that I'm seeing are from floaters that could eventually tear the retina. I have to go back on April 3rd and if by then it's not torn he doubts it will. If it does tear I'll have to go to Vancouver for surgery asap.

After leaving the doctors office we decided to head to WalMart. After I found some sunglasses...boy is that sun bright when your pupils are huge!! It was a treat to run into a couple from the ballteam and have a coffee with them and catch up. There wasn't any point in heading back to work cause I couldn't see properly anyway.

So, I'm settled in waiting for Survivor to start. I doubt I'll be able to post tomorrow. I'm a day behind on invoices now seeing as I lost the whole day. If I don't get them done tomorrow I'll have to work this weekend and I sure don't want that.

Donna, your news isn't good, but at least you have some idea what's going on. I didn't know that "floaters" were objects that could do damage. Please don't do anything strenuous that would put stress on your eyeballs. As if! You use your eyes intensively every day. Please get as much rest as you can.

Heather, good luck with the house project. Most of us take credit for granted and forget how difficult it is to obtain. Properly used, it's one of life's great conveniences. I can't imagine why Target couldn't find you in the phone book or the city directory.

I got a prescription for Zithromax yesterday, and I feel better already.
Two of my cousins who are in town for their dad's memorial service (tomorrow) came for supper last night. (I threw together a big salad from what I had in the fridge.) We told family stories and caught up on a lot of life.

Today is "Brand Friday." Everybody is supposed to show up at work in Hallmark Plum--the official color. I'll probably do that one last time.
I met with the retirement paperwork guy yesterday. Among other things, I have 32.6 days of unused PTO (paid time off) that I'll get a check for. So...all my "not sick days" are paying out now.

Gotta go clean up. to everybody.

Hi Gang!

I've just gotten up, and since we have houseful, I'm dressed to go to the Health Center in a few minutes to do my Chaplain job. I really love those people. It's such a privilege to meet with them.

Dh's friend, who is a little weird lost his temper with me last night and called me a b****. Dh was just livid, and I was surprised, but not especially mad. Just after he did this, he said, "Well it's my bedtime, so I am going to bed." And, he left. (He is staying in a dorm on campus) When I got up this morning, he apologized but qualified it with how I made him angry. Oh well. Dgd was here too. I was sorry she had to see and hear that

We watched "Quincenara", the movie last night. It was a very sweet movie. I recommend it.

Dgd and I are going to do some errands this afternoon, including a trip to Borders where they are holding two books for me. I promised her I would buy her one of the Classics. She needs to read it for English. She is a straight "A" student; has been since she started school. She is number 3 in her school for grades. She is in high school, Freshman. I'm not proud of her or anything.

Wow, Judy. I'm so proud of YOU for moving your bod to do yoga. That is just terrific. One of these days I am going to do that too. We have yoga here for free. Twice a week.

Dh's surgery is going to be next Friday. I'm working like a beaver to get health advocates to be with him 24/7. We've been told not to leave our loved one for even an hour unattended. There are people here who will do it. I just have to figure out who they are.

See ya'll later.

Love, Peg

Hey, Guess what we got this morning............ and a bunch of it. Yep, the s*** stuff that you guys always talk about. However, since it was 50 degrees for the past several days, none of it stuck. This is the first time it has snowed here in quite a while.

Judy, the "S" word???? Good grief. At least it's a novelty and goes as quick as it comes.

Peg, weird guy, your dh's friend, but then you knew that. And proud, hey I'd be proud, too (edit: of dgd, not the friend:laugh)

Scary to think we can't leave love ones unattended in the hospital there, but I honestly thing it wouldn't hurt any of us to consider it no matter where we live.

The "tests" this morning? A personality test and two IQ tests!! I have very little ability to visualize those questions which involve spacial relationships and I don't do math without a calculator, so the verbal portion will have to carry the day. Really, all that for a receptionist? Heather, yeah a "crazy" test would have been appropriate, LOL>

We have intermittent internet, so I'm going to hurry----I have another interview this afternoon This is at a neighboring town's library. Alida, it's Barrington, the hoity toity village up here in the nw burbs. It's a part time job with benes, no less.

Gotta jet before I lose this one. Later guys.

Hi guys,
Following along; feel I have nothing of intelligence or interest to add.
We're still in the deep freeze; north winds at 20+MPH, and forecasted for a low of 18 degrees tonight...brrrr.

Peg...well darn on that guy! Glad you and your dgd are having Nana time!
Judy....Hope Miss O's surgery went well. They should see a most remarkable improvement regarding the ear infections.
Barb...hope you are feeling better. The Z-pak is a good thing!
Heather...I'm so happy for you and your family on the house prospects.
yay!!!
Bren...wow...you are a whirlwind of energy! Now, are you thinking of taking more than one job? or just the evening part-time one? Hope you get the one you want and definitely hope it's everything you need it to be!
Any company that hires you, will have definitely stuck GOLD!!!

Susie...did the boys make it home today??? How much snow did you get?

Donna...I left you a little note in your journal. Take care of you!

Alida, Bert, MK...hope you are all good!

Like I said...not much shaking here in my corner of the world. I guess the winter doldrums have hit me...yanno...just blech and blah! LOL!

Good thing is, I'm down 3 lbs for the week. So, onward, to go downward!

later, chickadees,
(((hugs)))

Peg - How awful! I'm surprised your DH didn't kick his behind.

Hey gang! I'm flying by myself. Ran errands all day working on gathering things for the Habitat for Humanity project that we've signed up for. Looking good! We signed papers and we'll know in April if we can be apart of the group of 10 other families to start building June 15th!! The lady said that for us we should get 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a garage! They come with energy efficient appliances as well. This just seems like a dream come true. We let our landlord know since they are going to fax her questions on us as tenants. She said that she is going to hate to lose us but will be more then happy to put in a good reference for us. Fabulous! Pray for me that this works out. We looked at the location and it's perfect and safe. The kids could have a yard to play in.

I think I mentioned Donna that I'm happy that you went in for your eye. That is awful on your retina. Do you think you did it while you were sleeping?

Here it is, Saturday morning almost 10:00 (central) and I'm still the first to stop by. This is getting weird. I am definitely not the early bird by choice. As of right now, we do not have to go anywhere this weekend. With that in mind, I need to get up and clean house, would love to get some patterns and fabric so that I can sew over spring break, go to the movie..... and yes, I need to do some "homework" for school. Looks like if I am going to accomplish any of those tasks, I better get moving. Have a nice weekend everyone.

Judy, you and me this morning? Now that's scary SO glad you've got a weekend at home, no matter what you end up doing

Donna
, I'm wondering how your eye is feeling today. SO glad you went to the dr. promptly.

Heather, how exciting to think of a lovely new home. It will be a lot of work, but so worth it. I can't think of any family more deserving and can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be selected.

Shell, we took a cold turn here, too, but the forecast looks warmer for next week. Hope yours does, too. I may have to join you in tracking on the Injunction thread. As much as I don't want to right now, there's enough going on here that I'm not being careful, ya know?

Barb, sleeping in, tee hee???
Alida, missing you, hope everything's going ok.
Peg, enjoying your dgd, I bet!

Oh the library interview yesterday! You guys know my reading addiction so well I think you'll get a kick out of the first thing the interviewing librarian said as she flipped my resume and application back and forth......"well, there's nothing here that screams library to ME" Ya think she wasn't impressed? Shell it looks like I may have a hard enough time finding one job, much less two. I really had a "loss of confidence" moment last night. But to everyone, thanks for the encouragement.

The cable guy has come and gone, as well as the telephone guy. I hope the fence company is prepared to pay for the service calls, sine they're not getting their final payment until we reach an agreement. Donna, you should see what a horrid mess they made out of my yard, too.

Nevertheless the sun's shining, it's warm inside and all's well.

One week left of LAWL. I'm going on induction levels to make sure that I'm at goal range this week. We all know how finicky our bodies can be and I don't want to risk carb bloat or anything. I'll be drinking a lot of hot lemon water to make sure I don't retain any water as well. I'm excited to not be tied to the scale. I know it can fluctuate a few pounds. It was up a bit even this week but when DH measured my middle, which we've been doing weekly to help with motivation, I was down an inch. Course I didn't go in until mid day which can be water weight or even food in the belly too.
-
Judy - have a nice weekend too!
-
Brenda - thank you!! We are really hoping and praying that everything will work out to get is in a brand new home. I look forward to the hard work it will take to help build it. / That library lady sounds awful to me. Maybe she is worried you'll be good enough for her job!
