| Ok, I'm about to have to get in gear and make a change. DD went to the doctor last week and was told she needs to lose 60 pounds before her checkup next year. The doc recommended South Beach and walking 45 minutes per day. I need to get after it with her for both our sakes. I've put on a solid 20 (and moving toward 25) in the last two and a half years. Damn maintenance is hard!! |

That's always been my problem once I lost the weight. Now, thanks to... ummmm, a *more mature* metabolism(darned if I'm gonna say OLD!), actively loosing the weight has been a slow boat to China! | OK... for some reason, I've had a bad week, eating wise. blech! I think I've got myself under control...LOL...well, as much control as a chocoholic can have....ahemmm...we won't go there. ![]() today's numbers: 1454 calories 98g fat 90g pro 47g carb 15g fiber 32g net carb walked 78 min/4.33 miles/246 cal burn/avgsp 3.26/>10,000 steps. wish I had worn my pedometer while I was shopping today; prolly shopped for 2 hours. That should be good for another 2500 steps, at the least.

| today's take is even uglier than yesterday, but I'm tweaking things a little, and the carbs I had were fruits and whole grains. I sucked it up and bought some Soy Slender vanilla; it's not bad. I prefer almond milk, but it's getting hard to get at the HFS(they are always "out of it"), plus they charge a freakin' arm and a leg for it! Grr! So, good ole Walmart N-hood Market carries the Soy Slender and for a buck.76, I thought I 'd give it a try. anyhoo...
walked 72 min/4.03 miles/226 cal burn/avgsp 3.29mph. As I mentioned in another thread, I calculated my cal burn in several places, and it's amazing at the different #s for the same activity! The above cal burn is from fitday; my pedometer said 378, and another site, gave me 350! As much as I sweated, I'm inclined to think maybe the burn was more than 226, but I totally doubt 378. AARRGGHH! Guess I'll stick with the lowest number, just to be safe, eh? over and out.

| was down 1# this morning by being watchful of calories yesterday. I'll sure take it. Today's #s:
OK...I think this was a very good day. I will have a small snack, probably some cheese, around 8P, then nothing after that. I am re-reading Protein Power, so I'm leaning towards that for a few weeks, just to get the carb cravings under control, plus I like the fact of a 30g carb allowance per day, vs the Atkins 20g on induction. It's amazing, for me at least, that 10g extra carb makes a BIG difference veggie wise. Anyway, will keep reading and do my calculations tomorrow of fat body and lean body mass to get my protein requirements. re-focused on the BIG picture...just like GA's! har!!! Headin' to the goal line, bay-bee!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

| didn't get much sit down, reading time today, but kinda followed PP today, except I'm over 30 carbs(low GI fruits/cottage cheese are the culprits). anyhoo....today's #'s: 1200 cal 67g fat 94g pro 69g carb 20g fiber 49g net carb walked 60 min/3.28 miles/190 cal burn/3.28mph avg sp STBO!!! 87 degrees with a heat index of 91! I think we've jumped into summer and skipped the spring part(except for the tornadoes!)

I will most likely close this thread at the end of May, unless anyone wants to keep it open. We can always start a new OWL thread, but for me, since I'm going back to PP for a while, I thought I'd start a PP thread in case there is anyone else out there that would like to track and check in daily with their counts. anyhoo, today's #s:

| I'm gonna have to start planning the whole day's meals, I think, to get my carb levels down. I think I'm doing OK, then when I enter dinner items in(after we eat, of course!), I find I didn't make my target! Grrrrr! Happened again today! D*mn! today's scoop:
walked 63 min/3.59 miles/214 cal burn washed and detailed out my car...90 mins I sweated like a horse! LOL...but I got a good cal burn...241 cal. ![]() Made it for the most part on the NEAS challenge last night. Had to take some meds, so had a bite of a legal snack so I wouldn't hurl taking the med on an empty tummy...ack! eyes on the prize, and getting my focus back(I think) for the most part. Onward!
