| Good morning, my friends. We have a glorious sunny day here, and more on the way. It looks like we're not going to get that rain from OK until Sunday. But what do those weather people know?? My plan for the morning is...nothing. Or whatever comes to hand. Visit with my dad this afternoon. I love being able to do that on days other than weekends. Before, either Saturday or Sunday was almost always a "dad day." Heather, is there a website where we can view some house plans, too? I promise not to say anything until you pick out the one you want! Donna, I wouldn't sit in a cold ballpark for anybody. Hope the weather is warming up for you. As for the walking program, I've always thought it was fun to have some sort of "plan" in order to track goals and achievements. ![]() Peg, how are you doing today? You are a woman-on-the-move. Last night at band practice, my teacher asked if I'd be willing to play one of the pieces I know, with accompaniment, at the end-of-year concert. As an encouragement to beginners. I said I would--as if it would be a positive thing! She also gave me a piece of music the "regular" band is playing, so I can practice this week, and maybe, just a little, sit in with the band. She said I already play better than some of them. That's scary! to everybody. See you later! |

| Good morning. I just about froze my butt off last night at the ballgame. So, I've already decided and told dh that I'm not going Thursday night....besides, Grey's Anatomy comes back tomorrow night. (and I'm coughing and sneezing this morning) Weird thing happened to me yesterday. Talk about a stressful day. I was online looking for a store to buy a communion bracelet for my dgd's 1st communion. As I was looking a big sign flashed up that I had a bad virus...scared the heJJ out of me! It told me that XP Antivirus would get rid of the virus. I'm running Windows XP so I didn't think anything of it and followed the steps it gave me to get rid of the virus. Then it flashed up that I had 649 viruses. Now, I'm stressed. I got to the end of the download and then they wanted my credit card. Hold on now! Something not right here. So, I backed out and deleted the download. Didn't happen. The program hid itself somewhere I couldn't find and kept flashing that I had all these viruses. I finally had to get our computer repair guy in and he finally found where the program was hidden. So, if you have that happen to you....just ignore it. Turns out it was a virus itself and that Microsoft does not have any antivirus detectors. I ran a scan of my virus detector....and I don't have any. Talk about a stressful day!! No exercise last night (other than shivering), but I'll be back at it tonight. Barb: You should be proud of yourself for the accomplishments you've made with your music. We're proud of you!! Heather: I'm sure you'll be able to pick out a design in 4 days. What an exciting time! Shelley: Pool boy? Oh, right...he's the one with all the goose bumps on him! Actually, our weather is supposed to start to warm up again and be up to 20C by the weekend. I just noticed in our local paper today that the nursery is opening up this weekend. Now that's just cruel! All those gorgeous plants and I'm just not sure it's warm enough to go and buy any. I think I'll have to wait a little bit. Darn!! Okay...off to work.

Don't even try to read my mind........ this is the last six weeks of school and typically, I am working much much harder than the kids.Donna, DH has worked on several computers that have had that or similar viruses. Sometimes you get lucky and can get it off. More times than not though, he has had to reformat the hard drive. The longer it is there the harder it is to remove. You are really lucky that the tech was able to find and remove the virus. There is some really bad stuff (malware) out there right now. Most of the new bad ones do exactly as you said---- pop up and say that your computer is infected and then want you to pay for a fix. Under no circumstances should you pay them money.

| Bren: Oh yes, the pool boy has been asking about that spectacular looking woman with the dark hair that frames her face and the great figure. I'm sure he is talking about you. The pool is a little cold to go in today, but the jacuzzi is working and I plan on going in in a little while. Our temp is only 62 right now, but it is supposed to get up into the 80's a little later in the week. So, I have retired the fireplace and am preparing the "lanai" for all of us. Don't be shy, come right over. Judy: The Mojito's are being prepared by the most delicious bartender; tall, dark and handsome. Now, don't get me wrong, girls, all I do it LOOK. I can still appreciate a man, even though I don't want one (other than the one I've got)! ![]() Other than that, today is a day that is completely free for me to write! I do have a nails appt in a couple of hours, but I signed out of the dining room and have the entire day ahead. Dh has driven himself into LA for the day at the church. I got called last night to substitute at a church nearby a Sunday in May. That's nice! Unexpected. They are going to need an intentional interim, and I just happen to know one.........(me). ![]() Gotta jet. Peg |

| Judy, I don't think there's any one of us looking forward to summer more than you are. Bert, if you can catch those cute boys, maybe you can drag them home to help with dh. Other than that, I'm having trouble imagining what use cute guys are ![]() Peg, ready for the lanai, I am. Well, no actually I need a pedi before I present my tootsies in public for the summer... Looking forward to hearing about how your writing group goes tomorrow Donna, computer stuff = scary. It's getting harder to tell what's legit, isn't it. Sounds like you were lucky your pc guy got it early. Barb, you're ready for the band! That's great. Looking forward to streaming video of your concert premiere, too. Sus, waves! Glad to see you peek in this am. Shelley, new furnace/ac sounds impressive. At least it will well meet your needs for years--and you guys in OK really do need both ends of the ac/furnace spectrum. Alida, Heather, waves to you guys, too. Now today was a boring one! Paying bills, more yard cleanup, yada, yada--you know, "stuff." I'm trying on line bill paying, but it seems to take longer than just writing out the darn checks.

| Tomorrow is the day!! I barely slept, maybe 3 hours last night thinking about how wonderful it will be to know what our future home will look like! After donating blood plasma I took a long look at the houses that are currently being built. They are looking good! Did some exercising since I have so much energy today and will head to church in awhile in thankfulness to God. Tomorrow we'll drop the boys off and then have to be at the meeting at 6pm with all the other families whom we have not met before. Hope it's no one I knew from school since I was an awful kid. I would like people to know the hard working me now. But who cares what they think anyway because we're getting a new home!! lol - Barb - I've searched EVERYWHERE for house plans online - lol. I will send you all plans we will choose from via e-mail and then let you know the one we choose. It's 1516 sq feet which doesn't include the garage. It doesn't sound like a lot of room but we live in 1/2 that now. - Donna - I bet you are so excited to play in your yard this year. You'll have to share what you are doing so I can get ideas okay? It sounds like you and I have similar weather so you'll be a big help. |

| Good morning. Tomorrow's Friday. Isn't that wonderful? And today is Bob's day off so I have a buddy to come home to! Everyone ... thanks for the vine input. I think it was the trumpet vine that was the bad one. Donna, thank you for your vine suggestions. I am having a real bad case of CRS, Donna. What were the seeds you sent to me? Too late to plant now? Sun? Partial shade? Donna, it is so sad how careful we have to be on the computer/internet these days. Thank goodness that virus was caught and deleted. Barb, LOL. Was it Tuesday's post where you mentioned we won't have rain until this weekend? I think the weather people got it wrong! As Brenda mentioned, we are all waiting for the video of your recital! That was a very nice compliment -- the best "new" student. Gee. Maybe you can do weddings .... Brenda, thanks for the bamboo blinds suggestion. I don't think the rails supporting the ceiling tiles would be strong enough. I am thinking real cheap here ... like stapling old sheets to the rafters! Well, OK, maybe new sheets. It sounds like you have been busy socializing lately. That's great! Shelley, don't forget to tell me what brand furnace/AC you are getting. Carrier? Trane? Other? I think you are getting this darn rain, too. And I saw a bit of a map that included OK where they were talking about tornado possibilities for today. Sigh. I hope you got some sleep last night .... Berta, rough going? If I lived there I would lend a hand! Is DH improving at all? Heather, that will be fun to see some floor plans! Peg, another interim job? For how long? I do hope you get it ... if you want it! Everyone ... have a great day. XXOO

| Good morning, my friends. We had pretty good thunderboomers last night, and it looks like they'll continue through today. Nice rain--but we did like the little patch of warmth and sunshine over the weekend. Heather, have a happy, happy day! Peg, you keep plenty busy. I'm guessing you're still happy with your choice of residence, even though the "roommate" occasionally gives you a hard time. I'm sure it's satisfying to use your professional skills from time to time.Judy, hang in there. Really...it comes to an end. How long until retirement for you?? Donna, you had a narrow escape. I am SO suspicious of anything that pops up on my computer screen--or arrives in the e-mail. You made the right decision in the end, and warned us all. Oh...and permission granted to skip the ballgame. Loyalty does not extend as far as pneumonia. The friend I had lunch with on Tuesday now works in public relations for a large engineering/architectural firm. She asked me if I'd consider accepting some writing assignments for the publications she's responsible for--and I jumped on that right away. I wouldn't mind at all working for money, even if I don't "need" it. I bought two more books by A. S. Byatt at the Half-Price Bookstore, and finished one already (short stories). I have a good line-up of reading materials of all kinds, and will put these "indoor" days to good use. In fact, I should probably devote myself to trombone practice. Don't over-praise, ladies. I guarantee you I'm a long way from first chair. Or second. Or third. But I'm giving it a decent shot. Many idiots have managed to get a driver's license, and learn to play the trombone while marching. Good thoughts to everyone. |

| Good Morning... Barb... waiting to see video of your endeavors with trombone. You are certainly doing well with retirement. I may have to look into the books by A.S. Byatt. I haven't been able to read much since bringing dh home.. but I have a stack a mile high, both novels and some books by political writers. Heather... I can hardly wait to see what you choose.. this is the day..then 4 days to make a decision. WoW! Donna.. you were lucky you got rid of those viruses so quickly. Stay in where it is warm... scrapbook etc. to cold to go to a ballgame! Peg .. you are supposed to be retired.. ohhh this is retirement.. Alida.. you asked about age difference between dh & I.. he is 12 years older. 43 years ago when we got married it didn't make much difference, probably wouldn't now if bad health hadn't set in. Yesterday dh got the brace off his leg.. however, it was so painful last night I had to put it back on. They removed the staples. Depending on the status of infections when they put the new knee in.. we see orthopedic again in 4 weeks. They do blood tests 2 times a week to monitor sed rate & something else ? this indicates level of staph. He has MRSA & VRE... one, in itself is pretty nasty but two of them is !#$#@! Hand wash, rubber gloves, hand wash.. disinfectant. DH is amazing though he just keeps energizing along. Still looking for those guys around the pool could use their muscles for dh.. just don't have time for much else |

| Good morning! Yesterday was a "normal" day as far as normal goes for me. At least nothing strange popped up on the computer and threatened to make me crash and burn! Alida: Those were Coneflower seeds that I sent you. And no, it's not too late to plant them. Mine are just starting to come up now from the seeds that dropped off last year. I usually plant seeds once the ground is getting warm. My day used to say May long weekend was the best time...but that's for our climate. I'm sure you won't hurt them, they are pretty hardy. Heather: I can just picture you jumping up and down and not able to sit still. It comes through in your post! lol My first home as a newlywed was only 747 sq.ft. Two bedrooms with a tiny basement with dirt walls. Yuk! It was only after we bought it and moved in that we found that the mice liked the house as much as we thought we did! Bert: You get the nurses' award this year. Your poor dh!! And he's not a complainer? Mine would really be whining about now. Barb: I am missing the ballgame tonight. I have a full blown cold now...sneezing, sniffling, coughing, and yes, whining. So, I'm really looking forward to a night home alone with my tv. After the stressful week I've had...I deserve it. Brenda: I haven't tackled online bill paying either. After the close encounter with the virus I'm not so sure I'm ready yet. It kept telling me that someone was coming in the backdoor and stealing all my information...don't need anyone knowing that I have nothing in the bank lol The boss is in Vancouver for the next two days. Yippee. I'm actually looking forward to being here. I don't have to chauffeur anyone, or take anyone grocery shopping etc. I've already planned on leaving early today to get the banking done. Thanks to him I'm usually just walking in the door of the bank as they are getting ready to close. I hate doing that to those girls but I have explained why I'm always late and they understand. Today I will be there at least an hour early..and I have a lot of deposits to do too. Tonight...Grey's Anatomy comes back. It's about time too. Can't wait...really, no really! Off to work...
