HI guys,

Just got back from walking...definitely was a work out...walked into 30-35mph winds! Again...I think Texas has blown up to OK, and OK is headed to KS!!! Oye! Then they say, possible severe storms for tomorrow.

The city inspector came about 1050-ish, and everything passed, as was expected. So...all good to go! The new *control center* for the heat and air looks like a mini computer screen So far I haven't messed anything up yet...LOL! It even tells us when to check our filters, so that's probably a good thing!

Barb...giggling is a definite NO-NO when playing in a concert...LOL!
I'm pretty sure it's a no-no at any time, while on stage, but if everyone else has the giggles, then I'd say...go for it!

Donna...yep...you got it right...Kass is a brat! LOL! I think it was that stinkin' pain med on the first night that was making her a little crazy. Seems like after it wore off, she settled down, but of course, she had already chewed out a suture...and behind my back I might add! How's Tia doing? I ran across his pic the other day when I was going through a file looking for a pic of the Fu kitty and DannyDog. I think you email Tia's pic to me to resize and post for you. In the pic he is just so BIG and handsome! Really furry!

Peg...

Can you imagine being the daughter of one of those dear people?
Yes, I can...I am a daughter of an Alzheimer's victim, among her other health problems. It's almost indescribable, to have your mother talking sanely to you one minute, and the next she is screaming at you and calling you hurtful names. I'm pretty sure I know exactly what that daughter is going through. I had to keep telling myself, that this was not who my mother really was; that she was sick and didn't know the awful things she said. It's what got me through, yanno? But still, it hurt very much. Alzheimer's sometimes can be worse for the family than the victim, I think.
It's just totally wretched and I pray they find a cure, and soon. I do hope your prayers brought the daughter some peace and comfort; I'm betting they did.

Bert... so sorry to hear your DH was back in the hospital. Electrolyte imbalances can be a very scarry thing! Not pretty at all! Glad he seems to be doing better. Yay for the cut and color!!...girlie time is sooooo important!!! Enjoy it kiddo!!!

I posted some new pics of our lil Kassie girl in her thread.
Poor lil girl didn't feel to good last night. However, first thing this morning, she bowed her back, and her tail was all fuzzed up, and she proceeded to do a *sneak attack* on my ankles when I walked down the hall towards the kitchen! So, I'm thinking she's almost back to the full speed *wild child* that she usually is!

A shout out to Bren, SistaSue, Alida, Judy, Heather, MK! Hope youz goils are doin' good!

later chickadees!

Well friends, all talk of nursing homes and Alzheimer's and such seems somehow synchronous. I've been offered a part time position at an assisted living community and will decide tomorrow if I'll take it. It's one of the upscale places and so far I've been very impressed with the environment and caring attitude of the employees. They've invited me to come in tomorrow to spend an hour or two with the staff, getting the feel of the flow of things there. I hope that will guide my decision-making one way or another.

Other than that, another vet day (no one wants to know the continuing anal gland story, right? Right!) and a coffee meeting with a friend. We journeyed to a yarn shop near where she works because.......she wants me to knit her a scarf of the style I've been making lately. I'm happy to do it because it keeps my fingers busy without having to buy yarn

I also have to thank you sweeties who think I'm so tiny LOL, ya know, the avatar is a pretty tiny picture! Nevertheless compliments much appreciated

Peg, what a whirlwind you've been on. Glad you scheduled a morning for yourself, and especially that we were the recipients of a nice long post from you. Thank you for being the caring person you are in defending the abused ofh patient. I'm sure the chaplain job is rewarding, but sounds too draining to be a full time position when you have so many other activities and responsibilities.

Donna, I'm concerned about that cold. Are you sure it's not something that needs to be treated. There's been so much pneumonia here--that's what caused me to ask. Goodness! Lumber for your ds' birthday? LOL!!!!! I think your son would much prefer a gift card!

Bert, darn that your dh seems to go from one thing to another. Hope his electrolytes are fine now and that he can stay stable until the decision about his knee. Please think of some respite time for yourself, ok? I mean more than a couple of hours for a hair appointment, even as nice as that is!

Shell, I had to laugh at the idea of Kassie's sneak attack. Yup, I'd say she's doing quite ok. Thank goodness the little ones can heal as fast as they do. Woohoo on the completion of the furnace and life back to semi-normal.

Barb, here's to your recital!! The only words of wisdom I have for a brass soloist is "take care of your spit valve and it will take care of you" LOL! Now I can't remember if a trombone has a spit valve!

Judy, Alida, Heather, Sus, Mary Kay! Hey girls
