Judy...just for you. To convert Celcius to Farenheit...double to celcius temp and add 32. (20C would be 72F).

Alida: It looks like it might just have been a one time binge with dd...she's been sober since. But, it was an expensive one for her and cost her a job.

Just an absolutely gorgeous day here today. I was out in the yard most of the day in capris,no sleeves on my blouse and sandals. I got the grass cut and did a lot of work in my flowerbeds. Dug up all my soapwort. (doesn't that sound like something that should be in a Harry Potter book?) lol

All in all it was a good weekend. I really needed the weather to change like it has...definitely lifts the spirts. Now...I'm off to bed...back tomorrow.

That's a lot easier than the formula that I learned a jillion years ago in school........... F=9/5C+32. Silly me, I should have realized that 9/5 is essentially double.

This morning's temp in (F) is 37. That's about as cold as it got anytime during the winter. All my warm clothes are put away. I guess it will be "layers" today.

Monday!!! Have a good week everyone!

Donna and Judy - Hope the warm weather comes or stays for you!! I wish that was same with us. It was 70's last two days and then back to lower 40's tomorrow. It sure was a good few days. At least I got in 1 bike ride and 1 walk to the grocery store with my family yesterday.

Today is going to be a good day and it's going to be a great week!! All the families that are selected for the next 2 groups of 5 families/homes will be called this week on their Habitat Homes. FIL, MIL and my family stopped by a 3 bedroom that is being built and were quite impressed. Sliding glass door in the living room that goes to the backyard, dining room, beautiful kitchen, huge 2 car garage (looks as big as our current apartment), energy efficient, energy star appliances....it's like we won the lottery! I'll let you know when we get our call. I'm staying positive!!

Heather, fingers and toes crossed, and all prayers ascending for your call this week!!

Peg, I can't believe the schedule you're keeping. Where do you find the energy??

Judy, I am a goal-oriented person, too. Eventually, in retirement, I'll find some new ones. For now, coasting is just fine. I don't intend to "work" unless it's for money. But I do hope to find some meaningful volunteer job(s). Today, I'm helping a team from my church serve lunch at a shelter. That's an every-other-month thing, as churches rotate the responsibility. For now, I'm holding off making any steady commitments, as I'll be traveling a lot through the summer.

That temperature conversion formula is very handy. Even the math-impaired like me can manage that!

Alida, isn't the sunshine beautiful today? I'm looking forward to the warmer weather this week.

Now I'm going to go make muffin mix, and put it in individual baggies for the next week or so. I don't really need timesavers, but this is a handy way to do it.

Have a good week everybody.

Another gorgeous day in paradise! I just love waking up to the sun coming over the mountain knowing it's going to be sunny.

Last night I started a new walking routine. Found it at Prevention magazine. I was able to download the whole month of walking. So, last night it was 1.5 miles (35 min)at a steady but slower pace than I'm used to. After digging in the garden all day my legs were pretty sore by the time I finished, and even more sore today, as are my knees and hips. I was sure the scale would love this...right...up .5 lbs. I can't remember what I have to do tonight but I think it's more time than last night. I'll stick with this and see what happens.

The boss and his annoying brother are both out of town until Thursday....good things do come to those who wait. lol

Heather: I can imagine you'll be jumping every time the phone rings. I'll be saying prayers for you. Hope the news comes soon.
We're all waiting to hear.

Barb: I can imagine that volunteering at a shelter would be very rewarding. I've been watching Oprah's Big Give and that's something that they would be doing. Nothing like giving back when we've all been given so much.

Judy: I'm sure you would have twigged onto the converstion yourself but I use it all the time. I'm just one of those "older" people who don't like to change. The celcius, km, conversion just confuses me. So, I convert it back and it makes sense that way. Even for driving...I change the speeds to mph by taking the kms multiplying by 6 and dropping the last number. (60km = 36 mph.) I'm sure I'm not the only one who does it.

Okay...busy day at work...I'm off, but will probably be back.

Been reading to catch up with everybody. Heather, I'm really excited for you and your family. Sending good thoughts and prayers for your dream home to come true!

Today has been a busy Monday. We had a great time this weekend. Hard to imagine that DS1 is graduating from college.

I'm posting a link to my journal. I was able to resize a few pictures and post them just now.

Susie, very handsome boys--all three of them. The beautiful mom is certainly looking proud. Chic, too. Congrats to all of you!

Peg, did you survive your big day? What was the "gala" all about? On the other hand, maybe you won't have time to post for the next few days. Gkids always bring a full schedule.

After Bible study this morning, I'm off to the VA with my dad for a routine appointment. I'm glad to have the time to do this without taking off work, or depending on my sister every time. As we've discovered just in our little circle here, care of aging parents has its challenges. And we're all headed in that direction, whether as the kids or the parents!

I'm hoping for a warm, sunny day today. There's a Miata spoiling in my garage.

I'll be back later.

Can you believe this? Sunday, I cut my grass. Today, it's snowing like heJJ!! It's cold and blowing too. It's not going to stick, but it's trying awfully hard. And, tonight is dh's first ballgame...HA!

Second day of my Prevention walking program....and I got a night off. Couldn't believe it when I checked and double checked the papers and found I could just relax. I was tempted to do it anyway, but thought better of it when I thought I just might mess up the routine. I had a banging headache anyway! I've already peeked at tonight and it's at least a 30 minute walking routine. I'll be busy after watching the finale of Biggest Loser. (hope Ali wins!!)

Susie: What gorgeous boys you have! You must be soooo proud. You and dh make such a nice couple too! These are definitely the moments we cherish. Did you say what your sons are going through for?

Barb: Nice you don't have to be rushed to take your dd for his appointments. I'll send some sunshine your way (as soon as I find it) so you can take that Miata out.

Scales dropped 1 lb of the 2 that came back yesterday. This yo-yo syndrome is getting old!

Off too work....

Kitty Re: APRIL Tracking

Hi guys,
Seems like it's been ages since I actually visited pool side(pool house?...maybe still a tad chilly to actually be pool side, eh?)

Really nothing going on for me at the moment. I did have a little shopping spree yesterday... Scored 2 pair of dockers...and one pair was actually a size smaller than the other!!...crazy as it is! Also got some denim bermudas and capris, and a shirt for DD for a BD or Christmas present. The shirt was on final 90% clearance!!! What a deal!!!
DH has been talking about taking a week of vacation pretty soon and heading for "parts unknown", LOL...so I thought I should have a few options in the line of pants and such available.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it....

Alida...so your *invasion* won't happen until June or so? LOL at making your house *ready*! At one time when we thought we might have to bring DD and DGS *home*, my head was spinning on where we would put everything. DH just said...*storage unit*, and I went, "ahhhhh"! TTL for those things!!

Barb...hope you get to *miata* today! I am hoping our freeze last night is the last and that spring is truly here to stay! All the neighborhood birds seem to think this is the real deal!

Peg...you are certainly busy, m'dear!! All your meetings and such, PLUS a session with the DGKs!!! The latter is always fun though...so, have a blast with them!

Bren...today's the day...I know you know that today's the day....
LOL... TAXES I'm betting you got them done with time to spare!!!

Heather...we're definitely on *pins and needles* for you! Let us know THE MINUTE you know, OK???

SistaSue...your pics are just terrific!!! Handsome guys, all!
And of course your and DH's pride is shining through!
I really do LOVE the pic of you and your DH!!! You should enlarge that one!!! It would make a terrific Mother's day gift, perhaps?

Donna...sounds like you guys are in *full bloom spring*!!
I know that will make you very happy to get to *play in the dirt*...LOL! I need to get those seeds you sent in the ground in the next week or so. In OOOOklahoma, usually after April 15th is safe to plant.

Judy...

I came to the conclusion a while back that the computer has a big suck on my time.
...yeah, but I don't want to give it up!!! I WON"T give it up!! LOL!
I think like Heather's avatar...*I love my computer because all my friends live in there* Hope you get to slow down more in the coming weeks. School will be out, when??? Not to long, right? I think prom must be coming up this weekend for a few schools here; unintentionally overheard a *mother-daughter* discussion yesterday while I was shopping about what dress is acceptable and not acceptable. Had to chuckle about that. I think DD and I had the very same discussion!!!...NO plunging necklines and NO splits up to the *wahzoo*!!! LOL! Some things never change.

Bert and MK...where are you guys??? Hope all is well! Stop in and chat for a second if you can, OK??? We like to know what's happening with all the chicks, yanno!

Well, I think the time has come to make a decission about Kassie's *fertility*! har!!! As much as I would love for Kass to have a litter, I think there are more cons than there are pros for that right now. Soooo...I think she will be having *surgery* in the next week or 2; poor baby! I may actually try to schedule her surgery on the day we get the new heating and AC system installed, just so she doesn't have the stress of all the noise and such. We'll see what works out, I guess.

Off to do some laundry, lunch and maybe a walk. With 30mph south winds, it takes some of the joy out of a nice walk! ack!!

((()))

Hello ladies.
I find myself lurking and reading more than posting. I have a hermit stage I go into a couple times a year - think that is where I am.

meanwhile, glad everyone and their SOs seem healthier now than before.
I decided to 'go back to my roots' and had my hair colored to as close to my natural color as possible. Its a dark brown and is really freaking out the kids as they have never seen it.
I'm tired of the roots being so obvious. I kinda like it - but will take some getting used to.

Toe still being a pain, but am able to just ignore it most of the time. sometimes it feels like I am walking on a broken toe - but it isn't. just the stupid nerve and muscle problems. I call it my dead fish toe. it 'slaps' when I walk. I can push it back and forth with no pain and it had full movement - but I cannot do it myself by 'telling' it to. weird. I'll just give it more time - what else can I do anyhow.

we have a vacation coming up in 4 weeks again. hoping I can get a little more ready for it (weight/stamina wise) than the one in March. I did do a 1-mile WATP yesterday. it was hard. didn't do one today because I have someplace to go and my hair takes sooooo long to dry so I try not to wash every day.

I did get some cute summer tops at Fashion Bug to wear with jeans and shorts (and got some of those too, but hate the size).

Oh well, I hope you all continue to stay healthy and focused.
