Dockers are a line of chino/twill type trousers and slacks made by the Levi Strauss company, the same company that make "Levi" jeans.
Dockers first came out for men, and then probably within a year or 2, dockers came out for women as well.
They fit the bill for casual, but dressier than jeans, by my definition. Levi has certainly branched out and are no longer just a blue jeans only company.
See here... Nice pants!

Donna, you had snow and we finally!had a nice day here. In fact, the yard took up most of the day--winter clean-up. Dad and I did get the bird feeder/pole deal up. It's quite nice! Now all we need are birds

This afternoon I hit a dance party aerobics class with some of the book club crew--led by our intrepid Jamaican lass. Needless to say, Advil taken.

Tomorrow am I'm manning, or womanning the hospice booth at a health fair, and tomorrow afternoon? The delivery of a new mattress. Yes, a new mattress and a different one at that. After only a bit of hassle ours was declared defective and we were given credit to pick out another one. WOOHOO. More research done, and yes, Barb I finally got my latex.

OK, I don't want this to be all about me.

Mary Kay! Good to see you. Come out and play more often, ok?
Shell, good going on the shopping! Taxes went out Saturday
Susie, great pics!! Velly handsome, your men How's Ozzie?
Judy, you sound stressed. I hope summer comes soon for you.
Peg, are you sure you're retired? How's dh?
Alida, are you still looking for room separating ideas?
Heather, I'm still crossing my fingers. They're now blue!
Barb, I think your hobby is travel! Not a bad one, either
Waves to Bert. Hoping all is well with her dh.
Rachel, wherever you are!

I'll try to do a better job tomorrow. Hugs to all.

One of these days I will get better about "speaking" to each of you. But, I am following along

We are home.. we spent 2 weeks in nearby hospital where they did prior knee implant. I did say MRSA, but also 3 or 4 other bacteria in blood. We had this vision that he would be able to come up the steps... HA .. A friend suggested fire dept.. so sure enough 3 young muscular, guys came got him in wheel chair and carried him up the steps. Shel, he is on Zyvox and some other anti-biotic plus lots of other stuff some changed trying to discover if that was causing the rash which is much better. And lortab..PT will be here tomorrow and hopefully they can help us figure out a better way to manuever than we are now.. his knee is pretty painful when he stands only 30% weight bearing. Transfering is the problem.

I may need to go to gym to tone my legs, but I am quite sure arms and chest muscles will be in good shape as the weeks go by.

Thanks for letting me go on & on & ON

Good morning, girlfriends. Blue skies today, and it will be warm besides. I have a haircut appt. this afternoon, and it's a nice walk from here. I've opened the windows this morning. I love the cool air coming in--and even the whooshing sound of traffic on the boulevard (since I don't have to be in it!)

Bert, it's good that you're home. However, this caretaking will be strenuous, and I hope you'll get some help from time to time. You'll need rest and respite. Best wishes for your hubby.

BC, yes travel is definitely my pastime of choice. We'll see how far the funds will go in years to come. I'm still very happy with my latex mattress. Hope yours works out as well.

Alida, I think many people--even home builders--are realizing that separate bedrooms make happier relationships. In my case, separate houses seems to be working just fine.

The trip to the VA yesterday went well. It's always crowded there, but the staff are efficient and pleasant. I know VA hospitals get a lot of criticism, but the clinics here have been excellent every time I've been there with my dad. It's a place where I feel good about something my tax dollars are doing.

Not much on my calendar today. I think I'll try to be still. More coffee. Read the paper. Pet the cat.

Back later to see what's going on in my Friend World.

I'm just flying by...having to head out soon for lunch with my sister. She is 25 today! To me she looks 12 still.

Still waiting for the finishing word on our home loan this week. DH left message to make sure everything was in order.

Balance Re: APRIL Tracking

Well, I've finally been invited to join the "Writing" group here. This means that I will need to begin writing As you all know, I have wanted to do that since I moved here, but the group is closed, so there hasn't been room. Someone dropped out, so I'm in!

Dh is getting better. We are beginning to get on each other's last nerve. I suspect that it has to do with the 3 gkids being here inj our small (getting smaller as the days go on) place. Thank God for the Wii. They have played it unendingly.

Last night we went to bed not speaking because he was offended that I flipped him off in front of our 14 yo dgd. GIVE ME A BREAK! For me, it's almost a gesture of affection. If I were to tell him what I really think we would be "talking" (that's him waxing eloquent and me listening) for the next three days.

I sat up and watched the finale of The Biggest Loser. And, wouldn't you know that I MISSED the last scene because he called me to pick something up for him! Damn. Anyway, I got back in time to see the confetti drop and to see Ali glowing from the win. I thought that she would win. (The "flip off" came from dh calling this the "stupidest show in TV.") I mean, REALLY? Come on. There are some REALLY stupid shows. dgs watched "Family Guy" the other night and I was absolutely AMAZED at how sexist, and homophobic it was. Now, THAT was stupid. We haven't watched it again.

This morning I am going to a program here on "normal" memory loss. I tried to get dgd to go with me so that she could tell her Mother that what I have is NORMAL memory loss. But, she said that she would rather stay in bed and read and straighten her hair. Where are her values anyway?

Bert: I can only imagine what kind of stress you are under. I am praying fervently for you.
Heather: I have all fingers and toes crossed (and it is not easy to get my toes crossed these days)
Barb; You sound just great!
Bren: That is some reading crew you have!
Shel: I so so wish Otis were a little smaller. He ACTS like a kitten, but looks like a walrus. Found him all but in the toilet the other day.
Jude: Think of you often. Thanks for the bulletins from Carrollton. I hear more about there from you than I do from my own dd.
Alida: Now, when is the high speed internet coming?
Donna: Happy planting.
Suse: You are a saint
MK: Howze the taxes coming?
Love and hugs to all
Peace to lurkers!

Morning ladies.

Peg: I too watched Biggest Loser last night. I was crying when Ali won...I really wanted her to win so badly. She looks amazing and deserved to win. As for dh not liking the show....I would have told him to find something else to do then. (actually, I wouldn't have said it that nicely.)

I'm so happy for you that you finally got to join the writers group. You go girl!!

Berta: Whew...you must be exhausted. Make sure you make some time just for "you".

Shelley: Spring here for sure. Today it's just 4C and not supposed to get any warmer until well after the weekend. I'm not sure...maybe I moved to OOOOOklahoma (where the weather changes at the drop of a hat)

Brenda: I'm so envious of your new mattress. Can you believe we still sleep on a waterbed? We love it, but I'm thinking it's time to get rid of it...it's the cost of a new mattress that's holding me back.

Well guys, every day when I go home I carefully open the door and breathe a sigh of relief when my Tia cat is sitting at the door waiting for me. He's getting so frail and thin now compared to the 25 lbs. he used to be. He's not eating as much and seems to throw up very easily. I just remember how Lucy used to do that before I had to put her down. This guy is 18 now and some days still acts like a kitten....but deep down I feel his days are numbered. He's getting a lot more hugs and kisses every day for sure!

Can you believe this?.....dd has found a job. She starts today. She'll be working in a kitchen of a restaurant. Maybe that's a good thing. Working around customers seems to stress her right out. She went to the doctor yesterday and he feels she's now suffering from some kind of anxiety disorder and is doing tests. In the meantime he's put her on some type of anti-psychotic drug. I'm not too happy about her starting some new drug the day before she starts a new job but she's a big girl now and I'm not telling her what to do. I did reinforce to her that if she screws up on this job I doubt she will find another. I'm amazed she found this one...it's a very small town and gossip is the number one type of enjoyment here.

Day 3 of my walking program last night....just about broke my neck walking as fast as possible on the treadmill...lol. I did feel good when I was finished though and the 40 minutes and 1.6 miles just seemed to fly by. Only problem I have now is that my IPod keeps repeating the songs..maybe I've worn it out.

Okay..off to work. Have a good day everyone.

THEY CALLED! It's so exciting!! The meeting was moved to the 24th for the floor plans so it's going to be a long week. I'm so excited! We'll get more information that day on this process. We'll also learn at this meeting on how to bid for things like plumbing, electrical.... I'm really nervous so glad that DH is good at things like that. He won't want anything cheaply done but won't go out of our budget. FIL had his house built a few years ago so he'll be able to help too. Yeah!!

hi guys,
fly by for me.

Bert...hope PT was able to help with body mechanics; moving correctly will save everyone's back, as I'm sure you already know! Hang in there, kiddo and check in when you can!
Sending good wishes the healing continues!

Bren...woohoo on getting the bird feeders/pole all up and ready for bizness! I'm sure your little diners are more than delighted!!

Heather...a BIG WOOHOO for you and your family!!!
I'm so happy for you all!!!

Peg...I need to review the cat behavior materials...Kassie is still biting more than I like! I can tell when she's getting defensive...those ears go back, and with her lynx tips, she looks *possessed*! LOL! It would be funny, but she bites hard, so as you know...it is definitely NOT funny!

Barb & Alida...hope you both had a super KC day!

SistaSue...you too!! Whatzzzup??

Donna...glad your DD found a job. I'm sure she was feeling a little down and out over being unemployed. Here's hoping she learned her lesson(albeit the hard way) and walks the straight and narrow!!!
(((hugs to you and your precious Tia))). I know what's around the corner, and I'm sure you do to. It's gonna be hard. We're here, OK?

A shout out to anyone I missed! Sorry to cut it short, but I've got to move on to some other things...blah! I'd rather stay here, to tell the truth!!! LOL!

Everyone take care!!!
later, chickadees!
(((hugs)))

Oh Heather, that is wonderful. Tons of congratulations. I know you are "over the moon" excited!

Yeah, separate sleeping areas aren't a bad thing at all. DH sleeps halfway across the house and I could still hear him snoring a couple of nights ago. He can listen to the radio all night and I can sleep in the quiet. It's been that way for over a year........ and I expect that it will stay that way from now on.

Great news, Heather! We'll want to hear all the details as things move along for you. There are SO many decisions to make. Have fun with it all.

I've got to run (literally). It might rain any minute, and I have to get out for some exercise. I'll be back later.

Hi guys,
Popping in to see whazzzzup with everyone.

Barb...I had to cut my walk short due to rain drops. I checked the radar online before I left, and it look totally CLEAR!! Dang...about half a mile from the house, I started feeling the drops. It was really windy, but around 65 degrees, so with wet skin it felt a little chilly. I turned around and headed back towards the house, then it let up...that figures! So, I just did 5 laps around our immediate area(it's a half mile loop) in the event it started again. It didn't. LOL...figures! Just can't out-fox the weather around here!

Judy...one of our local news channels was doing a piece on a home builder in the area and when they asked him what some of the *new features* folks are going for, he said "duel master suites" for exactly the same reasons you and Alida are talking about. That would be a very nice thing I would think!

Bert...how's the patient coming along? More, so, how's the care-taker holding up? Do you have some family members that are close by to give you a hand, or give you an afternoon off? Hope so. (((hugs)))

Everyone else...a big shout out to ya'll! Tomorrow is ...yay!

Dinner date with DH tonight. I'm not sure where yet; will give it some thought.

Off to see what DH and Kass are up to; they are both waaaaay to quiet! hehe!

over and out!
(((hugs all around)))

Thank you! I'm really excited and can't wait to see the different homes we can choose from. All 4 bedrooms and we have 2 kids. One room is the computer room for my DH. You know how some men have to hang onto things that the woman wishes she would JUST throw out? lol That is what that room is for. Those swords & knives my thoughtful family buy him as presents...that room! lol

Got to go. Hanging out with DH. We heard yesterday that his mama passed away. During this time DH hurt his back so even though he wasn't going to take bereavement time (3 days) he is going to take it anyway to hopefully heal his back. I'm wondering if his mama's passing is making his back even worse.
