| Alida - Oh sweetie! Prayers certainly said. I'm glad to hear they are keeping Bob in the hospital until he sees his doctor. Nice that they aren't taking this lightly. |

| Narnia was such a great movie!! After we went to Home Depot and got some ideas on carpet, cupboards and appliances. Exercise didn't fit into family day and then pamper day. DH Jason did a great job dying my roots. I'm so proud of him, he takes such good care of me and the kids. What husband dyes their wife's hair? Sweet! I painted my toe nails and redid my finger nails as well. Awww....... - Brenda - Hi!! I hope you can take care of yourself a bit. Imagine you are getting worn out from training at work and that cold. Hope that you feel better soon. - Berta - Very excited for that last step of our house building...the yard! I can't wait to play in it with the kids one day. It's not going to be a big yard, 36 feet out in backyard/28 front yard, but it's a yard. Yeah! / Sounds like you are getting the house all nice and cleaned up! I always feel so refreshed after a good decluttering session. - Shelley - SHOES!!! Oooh, a fun color like pink! Glad that you had fun shopping. Who wouldn't? - Judy - Twins! I'm tired for them already but all the great memories they'll have! |

| Judy...don't the speedo flip-flops feel just dreamy?...like walkin' on air! Bert, I got them at Kohl's; they were 50% off, plus I had another coupon from my flyer for an additional 15% off! yay!!! I can NOT stand hard rubber or leather going between my toes on a pair of thongs/flip flops. All of the ones I got today have the soft, fabric like piece that goes between the toes. I was *devastated* when LandsEnd discontinued their flip flops with the soft /fabric toe piece; that's the reason I grabbed 3 pairs today. They should last me for several sandal seasons. A girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do, yanno? LOL! nitey nite! s

| Looks like a sunshiny Sunday in Brooklyn. Yay! On the schedule: a long walk in nearby Greenwood Cemetery, with interesting monuments and famous dead people to check out. The Circle Line tour yesterday was great, and we are all having a good time. We had a long conversation via IChat, with video, with my nephew's little girls and wife, who are in Japan for four months spending quality time with their other grandparents, family, and school friends. This is how they help preserve their Japanese language and cultural heritage. Speaking of cultural heritage, the neighborhood grocery store is a veritable United Nations. Incredible mix of nationalities. It's possible that every American and immigrant should be "filtered" through NY, just to see how amazingly various we all are. Alida, I'm sorry about Bob. I hope they fix him up fast. You are now in the "hospital zone" which is another universe entirely. Heather, you DO have a great spouse. And you'll be a terrific homeowner and neighbor in your new house. The tiny yards here in Brooklyn are often beautifully planted. Perennials help you have a carefree garden, and annuals add color. You can choose flowers that bloom constantly (I love marigolds), or ones that bloom in succession through spring and summer, for a constant change. I'm not a gardener (yet) but you'll have fun with it, I know. Shelley, gold star Power Shopper! You find the best bargains. Those sandals look comfy and stylish. Peg, maybe you should get some, too? Hope your "loopy" sermon goes well today It isn't long past Pentecost, where they thought ALL the disciples were "loopy." The other four people in this small apt. are still snoozing away. Thanks to laptops, wireless, and other communication miracles, I'm having a social hour all by myself. Good thoughts and best wishes to you all. |

| Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers. Even though all I did was SIT yesterday, by the time I got home around 6-6:30 or so, I was wiped out. I think I was in bed around 7:30 and asleep by 9:30! Ah. Sleep is curative! I have lots to do before I go back to the hospital. If I feel he is doing OK, I may come home a little earlier. I will wait until later today to make up my mind about our guests coming next weekend. Bob may not be able to play golf, but if he can at least be up and about, I think they should come. I'll leave it up to Bob (and the doctors). I have no idea how long recovery is for pneumonia. Maybe I am just too wishful. Barb, I love New York! It is such a vibrant, exciting city, with so much history and art. Enjoy!! Heather, I think once you or your husband have to start cutting grass, you may be glad you have a smaller yard! And it sounds like there will be plenty of room for flowers. Judy, LOL. When I first read "Dniece," I thought you meant D Niece, as in "The Niece!" Baby showers are so much fun. All that tiny cute stuff! Shelley, wow. You did da big score! Don't you just love it when you get that extra discount on sale stuff? Macy's does that a lot. Sometimes I do wonder how they make any money. Brenda, I am so sorry. Somehow I missed the post where you mentioned you took the job! I think you said 4 hours a day for three days a week? That sounds perfect. How is your cold today? Hope you are feeling better! Peg, how went the "loopy" sermon? Berta, OK. Now I am confused. You mentioned knee replacement. I thought your husband already had his knee replaced. CRS. Is that infection clearing up? Donna, you are "caravaning." Having fun, too! Susie, what's up? I hope I didn't forget anyone! Of course, there's dear Rachel. If you're stopping in every now and then ... Hello! Here's hoping for a good report today. And here's hoping they don't decide to do another heart cath on Bob to check out the condition of his stents. When he had that done 2 years ago, he was not a happy camper. Keep those prayers coming! XXOO

| Alida, actually Dniece is "The niece"........ she is the only one we have, and my kids only cousin. I hope Bob is doing better today. Berta -- I got my Speedo flip flops at Ross for $5. Needless to say I jumped on them. They were the only pair that I saw, and luckily they were my size. Off to do my own roots....... Heather, when I used to highlight my hair, my DH would often help to pull strands in areas that were hard to get to. Everybody else, have a great day. I'll be around grading papers.

| Prayers for all the ailing dh's today. Alida, so sorry Bob's in the hospital. Hopefully he'll be on the mend soon and his enzyme levels will improve as he gets better. Bert, you're in my thoughts quite often, knowing how tiring and frustrating constant caregiving is. Peg, how's the foot and how was the sermon? Shelley, great score on flip flops! There are so many cute ones out there--wish I could wear them, but my little toe always falls off the side. Not a good look I have to have straps ala Dr. Scholls.Barb, I imagine Spring is Brooklyn's best time of year. Enjoy. Judy, wasn't this the niece you thought was pretty clueless about having kids, or am I thinking of someone else's niece. Heather, bet you look gorgeous. Your dh is great to help you. Still feeling rough today. Boy, wouldn't it be a kicker if I were too sick for my second day of work tomorrow Meanwhile, Alida, hope Bob is much better today. Sus, MK, Donna, big waves!

| Just got back from the hospital and Bob does seem better. He is sitting up watching TV which is a vast improvement from yesterday. The doctor came in while I was there and not much more to report. His blood glucose levels are high so they are giving him insulin. But then they give him orange juice for breakfast! Orange juice always makes his levels shoot up. Sigh. When I mentioned this to the nurse, she just said he is on a strict caloric diet. So I shut up. Still no word on what heart tests they might give him. I am taking off work tomorrow and will hopefully know more! Thanks! XXOO

| Hello ladies. Back from vacation (Bike Week in Myrtle Beach) and ready to take care of myself again. Had a fun time, but would definitely prefer to be in better health for the next one. So coming back to DANDR and what worked for me before. Even if it takes longer – it does work and I have to get through the first induction completely. So sorry to hear of health problems of spouses. My prayers are with Alida/Bob and Berta/DH Having to take care of someone you love through all this is so stressful. Peg – I hope the feet heal (heel) quickly and you have no residual problems. I did a lot of walking (along with riding) last week. Feet are about the same, but much easier to deal with now. Stupid knees are a real problem with the riding. Favorite walking shoes on the beach were some cheap ripoffs of Crocs. Heather, it sounds like you will be having such an exciting time coming up. Planning and getting it all ready should make it just what you want. DD gave me a lilac bush several years ago, but it never bloomed like I thought it should. Came back from vacation to a BLOOMING Lilac bush. Gorgeous and I can smell it in the house when the front door is open. I hope you feel better too BC – my mother was in a Alterra/Sterling House and I was so grateful for the wonderful people there – I was just glad she had people around her instead of being alone in an apartment. But it would be such a hard job losing people so consistently. Good shopping Shelly. I just hate buying anything right now. Pretty much being forced to by my lack of willpower in any form. So, will make shopping a reward when I feel better about myself. Barb, sounds like you have so much fun! I am so jealous. Hi to everyone else. I’ve been reading – so much to cover! DH is back on the cusp again at work. He has been through so many major layoffs and managed to get through. With EDS being bought by HP – I’m afraid his pessimistic view may finally happen. But I think it would be a blessing. He has an awful job. Pretty much working every weekend unless we schedule a vacation – and even then they keep trying to tie up his time. My business has done well – but I don’t know how much longer it will go on. I haven’t been exactly proactive in attracting new clients and the existing ones can only carry me so far. We have been living ‘high on the hog’ for a while now – guess it is time to think about being more realistic.

| Hi guys, About to start dinner in a little bit. I put a nice sirloin in to marinate...lemon juice(because I didn't have lime), a splash of tequila, some minced garlic, cumin, worchestershire, and fresh ground black pepper. Will grill it up, as well as some bell pepper and onions and have a LC fajita feast! Quick and easy...down and dirty and a done deal! Alida...glad Bob is feeling better. I would think they might do a stress test with thallium tomorrow or at least a 2D echo of the heart. Hopefully his fatigued feeling was coming from poor oxygenation due to the pneumonia , and when his lungs get better, he will to! Thank you for keeping us up to date! Hope you can get some rest as well. Barb...you are very much sounding like a happy traveller! That's a good thing! Bren...well shoot! I hope you turn the corner and feel better soon. But...and you know my feelings on folks going to work sick...if you don't feel better, please stay home; more for you than them. In the past when I've tried to be the martyr, I end up taking 10 steps back instead of making forward progress, yanno? Gosh...I know this would be a hard call to make, especially being the *new kid on the block*, but they should understand. In short...take care of you! ![]() MK...welcome back! Sounds like you had a fabulous time! The beach time sounds wonderful! Bert...keeping fingers crossed your DH will get to proceed with his knee replacement as planned. Keep us posted...and take care of you, as well! Like Bren said, being a full time, full care, caregiver can wear you down in a hurry. Sending good thoughts to KS! Peg...how are ya doin' today, darlin'? Hope your tootsies are getting better by the minute! Sounds like you are gonna be pretty busy this summer. Judy...when is school out, or I should say, when do you head to NE to grade the tests? Bacculariate is this evening where DD went to HS, then they graduate Friday night. Seems like this school year flew by; probably not to you, though, eh? My DGS doesn't get out for summer break until June 19th. But, they won't start back until the first week of September, either. Donna...hope you are having a fun camping-baseball weekend! SistaSue...hope things are OK over your way. Hope to hear from you soon! Have been looking at vacation destinations. Not sure when, what or where yet, but in the hopper for consideration is, San Francisco, Seattle, Victoria, BC, or the other side of the divide...SW CO. Also a fall foliage tour in the NE states has been mentioned, but I'm afraid we're already to late to get that arranged. BFF and her hubby will probably join us, so working with everyone's schedule is going to take some *juggling*, to say the least! ![]() I started biking again today. Oye! I hate the first few days and dealing with the sore *sit bones*...LOL! I'm hoping to bike and fitness walk on alternate days. I'm tired of dinkin' around with this last 15 pounds...I want them GONE at some point this year...sooner rather than later would really work well as far as I'm concerned! ![]() Everyone have a good week! ((( all 'round)))s

| Oh mi gosh, Alida!! I didn't read for just one day and your Bob is in the hospital?? Golly, girl. Prayers ascending right now!! I hope he is better soon. I DO SO know what you mean about being tired when you get home when all you did was sit. I'm not quite so loopy, but the people to whom I preached this morning may not agree. There were 25 people in the congregation made to seat 200. One man actually went to sleep during my sermon!! That's a first for me!! Ha! Gotta jet. Peg |
