| Good morning! LOL Shelley! I ordered a bunch when she had another special a few months ago. This is quick, as all my posts seem to be lately. I am going in to see Bob before work ... and try to get into work closer to a normal time. They did lots of tests yesterday. He does have pneumonia, but I guess they want to make sure nothing else is going on. No more shiver attacks ... at least I think not. I have not talked with him yet this morning. He did shower and shave yesterday and that makes him feel better! Off to my "whole 'nother world." Take care, my friends. XXOO

| Good morning gang!!! High of 47 with rain today so I'll be taking the car since DH has to work early today. Normally in May we'd walk ds to school but it's just to cold of course. Other then that I have the usual chores, exercise and kids to take care of today. - Thought worth sharing so prayers could be said for this family. Steven Curtis Chapman.com: Official Source for all things Steven MARIA SUE CHAPMAN, DAUGHTER OF STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, DIES IN ACCIDENT AT FAMILY HOME NASHVILLE, TN...5/21/08... At approximately 5pm on the afternoon of Thursday May 21st, Maria Sue Chapman, 5 years old and the youngest daughter to Steven and Mary Beth Chapman was struck in the driveway of the Chapman home in Franklin, TN. Chapman is a five-time GRAMMY ® winner and 54-time Dove Award winning artist who has sold over 10 million albums and garnered 44 No. 1 singles. |

| Good morning, everyone. We have a nice thunderboomer going on, which the growing things will enjoy. It's a good excuse for me to stick close to home and get some clean-up done. Alida, I know you're run ragged with work and worry. You have my best thoughts for a speedy recovery for Bob. In today's KC Star, there's a featured "remembrance" article on the obituary page honoring Dixie Lee Boos. She is the lady who first encouraged me to take ice skating a bit more seriously when I met her at the Crown Center ice rink years ago. You never know when a passing stranger will change your life--and she will be missed. And speaking of passing strangers, one thing I especially enjoyed about NYC is the international, multi-ethnic flavor. I really stood out as a very, very "white" person. Heather, all of us could do well shopping at Salvation Army--or any thrift store. Style is all in the imagination, and I'm guessing you look great. As for the Chapman family--it just goes to show that tragedy can happen to anyone. Fame and money can't protect us, but faith can help us through. My friend has been exchanging e-mails with colleagues in China, where all have been touched by the earthquake consequences. Donna, your usual busy life unfolds. You seem to find a bottomless well of energy. And so do you, Shelley! I'm not back on track yet from my trip. But I'll tell you what--it is wonderful to come back from an adventure and not have to plunge right back to work or into a schedule of any kind. I think constantly about what I should be doing to make my retirement more "meaningful." But I figure I still have time to adjust and enjoy while the sense of purpose finds me. Take care of you, Ladies. Long weekend coming up! |

| Good morning, good morning. The sun is shining and the scale went down this morning...life is good! I've decided not to eat until my stomach growls and it's working. I'm down 4 lbs. since weighing in Tuesday morning. A lot of it is probably water gain from the weekend, but I'm claiming it anyway. Those scales were pretty scary after the long weekend. Number I hadn't seen in 4 years...and I'm not even going to say what they were. Took Sora to the vet yesterday and got to see a different vet. She was pretty thorough. Sora's eyes are totally clouded over now and she couldn't even see to the back of the eyeball. She's ordered in different meds that I will pick up today. She also did a tear test and we found out that her tear production is only a bare 5 when it should be around 12. So, now I have to give her liquid tears to help the dryness. And, she's on antibiotics for the rash that the cream isn't helping. That little trip cost me just over $100...but will be worth it if it helps. Barb: Good to have you back. Sounds like the trip was wonderful. After trying to get caught up at home after camping all weekend, it would have been so nice to not have to come to work on Wednesday. Enjoy! Alida: Poor Bob. He's had such a time of it. At least he's getting the care he needs. Brenda: Did you end up going in to work? (I won't tell Shelley if you did). I have another busy day at work today and an even busier night where I have to get everything done before the season final of Grey's Anatomy tonight. I've already boiled 4 doz. eggs, but tonight I need to peel and cook 30 lbs. of potatoes, then make potato salad for the Legion BBQ tomorrow night. Coleslaw will be made tomorrow right after work. I'll also do the garlic bread and slice all the tomatoes, cucumbers and onions tomorrow night. Dh does the BBQing. Bless is heart, I hope it's not too much work for him. lol Next time he volunteers me to do something like this on a work night....he'll be sleeping outside with the owls!! Okay...off to work. Have a great day!

| Hey guys, I'm here. I have a new toy. A Blackberry Curve. And the "learning curve" is something else! I got it because we have been with Verizon for two years. You get a new phone for free after two years. I got dh the free one, and I sprung for the "Curve." I got it considerably discounted! Alida: I think of you often, dearest. You must be running ragged. Let me give you a tip. Eat! Stop at Trader Joes and get some of their prepared food. Have it in your frig for when you do stop at home. That's what I did and it was really wonderful. I found after all day at the hospital, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was put anything together to eat. I am praying for you! Donna: You sound good too. Your weather sounds a lot like ours. We are cool today. Thunderboomers are supposed to come in tonight and tomorrow, but I will be really surprised if they do. We NEVER get them. Barb: Yeah, you have years to figure out what to do in retirement that is meaningful. That's the way I figure it anyway. Bren: What a perfect job for you at Hospice. I hope you are feeling better. Heather: Thinking of you and your amazing saving of money. Mary Kay: Hope you are getting along well with your feet. Suse: Where are you? Judy: Hope things in NE are okay. Rach: Missing you Well, I found some bandages that will fit over my incisions without having to wear that foolish Ace bandage. Now I can wear my shoes! We are going to dh's dd's house for dinner late this afternoon. A two hour drive both ways. Whew! Gotta Jet! Peg |

| Good morning ... and it is early morning! Did I mention the gall stones they found? Well, the doctor decided no time like the present to take them out. SIGH. I know bob feels like he is going through the wringer. The operation is around noon today. I got up early so I can get into work and finish up some things before heading to the hospital. I have a hunch once I am there, I won't make it back to work. PRAYERS PLEASE. Love you all! XXOO

| Keeping you and bob in my prayers for sure. I hope everything goes smoothly and he recovers well from all of this insanity. If they take care of everything now, then he won't have to go back.

| Alida, you certainly have my thoughts and prayers today and every day. That hospital routine is fierce. Donna, you are Wonder Woman. 30 lbs. of taters to peel and cook? Yikes. And that's just the start. What was he thinking?? I'm sure everyone who gets to eat your feast will be appreciative. Brenda, how's the job going? Peg, hope you enjoy the new Blackberry. I try to avoid any form of new technology, but it's inevitable sooner or later. Might as well go first class. I'm off to the dentist this morning, and then out to see my dad. I'll come back later to chat. |

| Alida, Sending good thoughts and many prayers for Bob and you today. Please check in and let us know how things are, when you can. Bren...LOL at bike b*tt...yep, it definitely happened like I figured it would! But, (no pun intended) it's almost gone! Barb...up and at 'em early! Dentist...ack! But a necessary and important routine thing to do. MK...send me some of your determination, would ya? I'm having trouble staying focused on ditching these last pounds that seem determined to hang on! Looks like you are in the *groove*!!! WTG!!! Donna...get all them thar taters all peeled and cooked???? You soooooo deserve a BIG gift of gratitude from your DH for doing this!!! Mine would most likely be recovering in the hospital from a broken neck if he volunteered me for a HUGE-A-MONGUS chore like that! You rock, m'dear!!! OK...just got back from walking. It's soooo humid and hot here; probably will spawn some storms later today...blah! Off to clean me and get ready for my afternoon appts. Everyone have a safe and Happy Memorial Day weekend!!! (((hugs all around))) s

| Good morning ladies...yup, the taters got peeled and cooked. In my fridge now is 30 lbs. of potato salad. When I get home today I'll make the coleslaw and cut the cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. Also add more mayo. I've already used 2 large jars of mayo and it's still dry. Dh said this morning that maybe we should go to Costco and buy the gallon sized jar for when we do more dinners? MORE? Not in my plans for the near future! Dh did a Costco run yesterday and came home with a gorgeous binder for me with 300 sheets of acid free paper for my scrapbooking. I love sending him to town alone...I always get a present. lol I got the new meds for Sora's eye yesterday. It's a combination of 3 different antibiotics all in one tube. You wouldn't believe the difference after only putting it on her cornea 3 times. The cloudiness is already fading. She's so much happier and playful. I guess not being able to see was pretty scary for her (and me). Alida: Prayers assending your way. There isn't much more that Bob could go through. I'm just surprised they would do surgery when he has pneumonia? You'd think they would be worried about putting him under. But, then, I'm not a doctor, so what do I know! lol Barb: Dentist app't. Yuk! I have a terrible fear of the dentist seeing as my jaw dislocated so easily. Even the thought of anyone else going gives me shivers. Hope it's painless for you! Shelley: Exercised already! Good for you. I didn't get to the treadmill last night. Just barely made it to the tv in time for the final episode of Grey's Anatomy. Sure glad I didn't miss that. I told dh that if I wasn't finished the salad in time for my show...he'd better not come home. Peg: Now you get to wear your strappy sandals....Yay! I love sandals just about as much as I love bare feet. A Blackberry Curve? I wouldn't have a clue what to do with that. I'm like Barb...new electronics scare the hejj out of me. I can remember when my son got his computer....my first thought was...what do you need that for? Well, girls not much else happening right now. I can see my drivers heading in, so guess I'd better get my butt in gear. Have a great long weekend (it's not one for us).

| Hi Gang! I wonder if you heard about our weather last night! We were on the road to the desert. We had a tornado touch down about 30 miles from where we live and toss a 15-wheel rig right down across a highway shutting all lanes (we weren't on it.). We had hail, rain and, get this, SNOW. And, we were in that! It took an hour longer to get to dh's dd's house than usual. What a mess! California drivers get paralyzed by snow. But, with good reason. There is very little equipment to spread salt, and few snow plows. Though we did see one on our drive. What an adventure! This morning it is raining. We have had over 18 inches this year! That's almost a record. (Remember just a few months ago when I was moaning about the drought?) Oh, Alida! I'm sorry, in a way, that you got Bob into that hospital! It seems as though they really want to work him over. Though, you know, the gall stones could have been causing the GI trouble he was having. Prayers ascending for you and for your honey. Prayers and love going out to the rest of you guys. I got up at 10:00! One of the real benefits of living in a retirement community, I think. No one calls. No one comes over. Yay! Se ya later. I've got to get ready for the inevitable lunch. Peace, peg |

| Good morning, all, I was awaken about 0500 with neck and right posterior shoulder pain(scapula aka *shoulder blade*)...ack! Where did that come from??!!! I have added some upper body weight training about 3 times per week, so that may be the reason. I hope not. My upper arms and shoulders were sore after the first day I did the weights, but seemed better yesterday. Always something! Guess I'll skip the weights today, maybe use the heating pad afterwhile and see what tomorrow brings. What's everyone's weekend plans? Nothing going on for us; will stay close to home and DH may have to work today anyway, so there ya go! If I'm energized after my walk this morning, I may jump in and wash and detail out my car. Poor little thing is totally dusty and needs some attention. OTOH, we are forecast for T-storms off and on all weekend, so maybe I should wait until next week. OK...better get myself in gear and walk before the temperature gets any hotter. Yesterday our humidity matched the temps for awhile at 79%/79 degrees...icky-sticky fer shure!!! ![]() Everyone take care and stay safe!! Alida...hoping Bob is mucho better this morning and ready for discharge home soon! (((hugs all around!))) s

| Good morning! One gallbladder has bit the dust. According to the doctor, it was pretty bad and he believed it was probably the cause of everything. But Bob keeps insisting the stomacj pain was not that acute. Yes, he was sore, but he thought it was just muscle soreness from vomiting. We did make a pact, though. The next time he has a twinge he is going to the doctor. At his age, we can't be too careful. I have to call him and see what today will bring. I do so hope he will be home by this evening. Before I go, I do have to comment: Donna -- 30 pounds of potato salad? You bet he sure bring home a gift!! Peg, OMG. thank goodness you are OK. Driving in bad weather is scary. Shelley, take care of YOU! Everyone ... have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend. (Donna -- you already had your "Day," didn't you??)

| "Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day ..." Doctors decided to keep Bob until tomorrow. Doctor told Bob his gallbladder was the worst he had ever seen. Now Bob is wondering how it got so bad -- and he didn't know it. But then, this is the same guy who had a heart attack and didn't know it! XXOO
