And... nothing new is going on here...well... nothing healthy.

DH had a heart cath & stent last week.. guess it was a tough deal. They kept him 2 nights and then when we were 20 miles from home and 80 miles from the heart cath hospital.. chest pains again. Anyway, they uppped his blood pressure meds yesterday and doubled nitro patch. So, I will monitor to make sure he doesn't bottom out. He has 2 more blockages, but they didn't want to do them as it would have been too much trauma to the heart.

Knee replacement will not be for another 8 weeks at minimum.. he knows not till heart blockages are stented. I have not had the heart to tell him it will be at least 8 weeks.

Peg, how sweet of you to help that lady with no family around. "holy act"
I want to keep that in mind as I continue on with helping with all of dressing, bathing and fetching. I sure don't feel very holy when I am angry with because he is still suffering some from the rash that started all of this and he starts scratching.

I bought some flowers to plant in one of my planters on the deck... decided the flower seed I had planted didn't come up and that green stuff was actually grass

Heather: I am so excited for you... I'm sure if any of us were closer we would certainly help with the little ones while you are hammering away. Easily said cuz we are all far away...

Barb: have a great time in Florida.. sounds like you have a good friend.

Alida.. good news with dh doing so well.

Shel..that Kassie is so cute, love the diva dishes.

Donna.. slow down.. you are wearing me out!!!

We've been having lots of rain.. a couple of the back roads are closed into town due to flooding. Lots of fields covered. I hope this isn't going to be a repeat of last year.

All of the trauma does have a plus side... lost 10 lbs. sure hope I don't find it.

I don't post much, many days it's hard to find something positive to say.
Take care all, I read every day more than once..keeping up on everyone's lifes

Oh I would offer my kids to anyone here who would want to babysit them. I'm used to watching them 24/7 along with everyone else's kids so it'll be an adjustment having others help. Just came home from walking ds back from school and DH was asked if we could babysit a young boy 2 days a week. I think I could manage Tuesday but Wednesday we'll be gone from home practically all day. I really do love kids and it wouldn't be a problem. His dad is a single father and is raising a very well behaved young man. I would only ask for him to pack his lunch because I can barely afford to feed my own growing men. lol

You are a gift Peg!

Berta - Keep us posted on the flooding. I remember you talking about it last year and worrying about you.

I heard that in order to care for others you need to care for yourself first. Guess that is why you all are such active members here at LCE because you are fantastic people through and through!

Tonight's housing meeting was basically going through rules of warnings for laziness, rudeness and harassment. We talked about being productive and not getting friends/family to do our required work hours for us. Pretty basic but the reason we had to go through all of this is because it was something that came up before. June 6th they'll be digging our holes for our homes. I'll certainly be there to take pictures.

Good morning!

We are a busy bunch ... as usual.

Barb, have a wonderful time in Florida!

Peg, I know what you mean by using the same adjectives over and over. I do the same thing. Get out that thesaurus. I still have mine from college. And bless your heart for helping that "older" woman. I was listening to a radio show on the way home from work and the talk show host is Jewish. He had a guest on ... Jewish biblical scholar. After a bunch of talk about how the Hebrew translation in the Old Testament has been mangled, the host asked the question: what does God really want from us? The scholar's answer: "to care for one another." You do that in spades.

Heather: I am so excited for you! Are there any work projects where you can bring the kids along? I imagine some of the other families may have children at home, too.

Brenda, feeling better? Did you get some Mucinex?

Berta: You deserve a great big group hug. I can just imagine how hard this must be for you, especially the worry. Please don't feel that you must report happy news all the time. We are here to give you a big group shoulder to lean on.

Donna, with all that exercise, my guess is that your scale is defective. Yup. Broken. Beyond repair .... your son sold you a leaky water cooler? Can it be fixed easily? And DD is getting her meds upped. I hope that will work. Your poor boss! But as you say ... it will be nice to be in the office alone.

Shelley, as Barb says, I guess the paper doesn't need to tell you this has been a bad year for tornadoes. Crazy weather. We have had so much rain that some of my bushes are absolutely gorgeous.

Speaking of so much rain -- my sump pump drains out in the back of my yard. We also had to re-route a gutter in the same general direction. Well, there has been a big puddle of standing water there for months. Got a call from our Homeowners Association. They are having an engineer come out to look at it. What with their summons about our driveway and now this ... I feel a tad like White Trash. I have got to get outside and clear away debris and pull weeds in the back. I don't have the strength but if I go at it slowly enough, maybe it can get done. Bob's work schedule really puts a crimp on us getting outside together to do this stuff. Ah well.

Have a good one! XXOO

Alida, I wish that I was closer so I could help. Would have to bring the kids but we could put them to work. Take care!

We talked at the meeting yesterday about how sometimes little ones start to hate the new house because mommy and daddy are busy with it. They start to miss their parents so she had some great things planned throughout the year and ideas. She said that we could take the kids out and have them write their names on the wood of the floor of their bedrooms. She said that home depot has projects we take to the site and have the kids build themselves. Like to take the kids out to the site to see the progress after church on Sunday.

Well, I better make sure Jay is getting ready for school. I plan on walking him there since it is going to be a nice day. I'll wear one of my new hats!

Thursday already...yessssss! Boss is gone for a couple of weeks. Life is good. I had to give him a lecture as I dropped him off last night, about needing things. I know he will sit in his house when he gets back (in the night so his skin doesn't see the sunshine), and if he runs out of groceries or something he won't call. Told him to call my dh and he would have his order ready and I could drop it off at lunchtime. Just don't expect me to come after work cause it's 12 miles out of my way. He got a goofy look on his face, but I think he listened. He's on meds that really up his metabolism so he loses weight like crazy. So, he eats junk food all night long....just not fair, is it?

Berta: So good to hear from you. You really have been put through the ringer this year. Take some time for you....we love your posts and just want to know that you are okay.

Peg: Loved your long post too. What a sweetie you are to help that elderly lady. I always thought I would be embarrassed if I had to bathe someone but your reasoning made me think differently. If I had to bathe dmil, I could probably do it now. Thanks.

Alida: Okay, I agree with you on the scales. They have to be broken! But, then that doesn't account for this damned roll around my middle. *sigh* Some day that stupid scale will drop. Still like your idea better though!! lol

Heather: I bet your kids would just love to do the Home Depot projects. I've seen the kids making bird houses etc., and they seem to have a ball. They are probably just as excited as you are. Haven't they tried to hit you up for a dog yet?

Brenda: Hope you're feeling better. We miss you!

Judy: On the countdown for the end of school. You deserve to have the summer off...but then you'll be painting won't you?

Okay...just a little excitement in our little corner of the world last night. I went to close the curtains in the dining room when I noticed what looked like flames about 1/2 block away. At first I thought it was the sun shining on a tin roof...but no...that was definitely flames. And there were quite a few people on the street. I threw on some clothes and ran down the street and there was the back shed at the restaurant where dd works up in flames. The firemen were able to keep the fire away from the restaurant itself. Thank goodness, or dd would be out of a job! Plus, the owners of this place took almost 2 years to restore it to the way it looked in the 1920's. A lot of work and money. The whole little town just stunk of smoke. Even woke dh up who was sleeping with the window open. This morning the restaurant was open, but I can imagine it's a little smoky in there. Dd told me that the shed was where they kept 2 stand up coolers and 2 bed freezers. Lost it all...and they had just had a big veggie order put in there yesterday. The owners live upstairs in the restaurant so they are very lucky they didn't lose their home. This little town has sure had it's share of bad fires. I think that place is the last original business left from the 20's.

With dh sleeping when I got home from work I made myself some dinner and then went right outside. Both neighbours on either side of me have grown privacy fences with lilacs. Don't get me wrong...I love lilacs. But, the runners come under the fence, and come out into my lawn. They choke out my flowers too. Plus, the branches come right through the fence and my flowers don't get my sunshine. So, I spent a couple of hours cutting back the branches that came through to my side, plus digging up the runners. Now, it looks much better. Didn't make my back feel any better though.

Then, I went to the library. I'm really enjoying being able to make my choices from so many books. Last night I started a Nicholas Sparks book...The Notebook. It's pretty hard to put it down. Even had the privilege of reading in bed seeing as dh was at work. I chose 4 books...but started to panic when I thought I might not have time to finish them all in a month...sheesh, you'd think it was the most important thing in the world. I can always renew them. See, this is a new experience for me.

Even got in my treadmill last night. Not a long time....40 minutes at 3.2mph. But, it's better than nothing.

So, that's my life in a nutshell this morning. I have to leave in a couple of minutes to take Sora back to the vet for a recheck on her eye. It's still hazy but nothing like what it was.

I'll be back later to check on everyone. Have a good day.

We would all love to have an animal furfriend. Charlie breaks out in welts and his eyes get puffy. This happens to me to except I have asthma problems as well. *sigh* My allergies have gotten worse in the last few years after I went through a series of allergy shots. One day I want to get one of those hypoallergenic cats! DH says I can get one the year Charlie goes off to college. Everything happens for a reason. DH says I have allergies only because God knows I would be have 100 cats and dogs living with us. He's right.

Busy day with donating blood plasma, babysitting, eye doctor appointments for the kids, need to exercise and then tonight I have my nieces 3rd birthday party to go to. Whew! Tomorrow my mom, stepsister and I are planning on going to the Farmers Market in the AM, garage sales and then Charlie has a birthday party to go to of one of his preschool friends. Not sure when our friends will be moving back here. Should be this weekend with their things.

Charlie, my 4 year old needs glasses. Big brother Jay got his 1st pair when he was 5. They are so cute in them. Next week when they come in I'll have to take pictures and post them for you all.

Quick fly by....finally got the call from the hospital. My appointment for the cat scan is Tuesday afternoon. Finally! Maybe now I will find out what's going on with my sinus'.

This Sunday will be Micayla's 1st communion. Then in the afternoon her dance recital. Definitely a day all about her. Her other gramma bought her white shoes for the communion and now the fight is on....her mom thinks the heels are too high for an 8 year old. Sure glad I didn't buy them. (it kind of looks nice that I'm not the one in the dog house lol)

Okay...back to work. Have a great weekend.

Good morning!

It's a lovely Saturday morning ... at least I think it is. Still darkish when I went up for my coffee refill.

Judy - Yea! Another year bites the dust and puts you one year closer to retirement! Have fun in Nebraska. Did you decide to do Induction while there? Silly question .....

Heather, wow. You really are busy! You and Donna really get the gold stars here. Glasses on kids are cute ... but they lose them, break them, misplace them. I speak from experience! Bless your heart for your long distance offer to help! I just decided to go slowly and not over-do. I should get out in front pretty soon, before it gets too hot.

Donna, oh no! Fires are just awful. I do so hope they had insurance. TG the restaurant was not touched. When I was little, there was a house two doors down from us. Every day an older man would sit out front. He must have been elderly and had trouble walking and getting about. One day, there was a fire. And I saw them carry out a covered stretcher. I remember being so sad that I would not see him any more. I must have been all of 5 or 6 years old.

Fingers crossed for a good check-up for Sora. And LOL about being glad not to be the grandma who bought those shoes. Always something, huh?

Does anyone else remember the to-do about being old enough to wear heels? For me, this was in the days before flip flops and running shoes (or rubber-bottoms as my grandmother used to call them). BIG DEAL buying those first heels ... which were probably all of 1" high!

I bought more flowers yesterday, along with two more hostas for the front. Next year I am going to plan a little ahead of time and plant more perennials and evergreens with just a touch of annuals. I also want to buy a really nice fountain/bird bath. The ones I like run around $300. This would make a nice birthday gift from Bob next year!

Have a wonderful Saturday! See you all tomorrow. XXOO

Well, goils....
I was going to pull up a chair poolside to chat with all you lovelies, but we've got storms moving in, and the lightening is beginning to get pretty severe. Sooooooooo........guess I'll shut 'er down for the night. There is a super cell tornadic T-storm out to our west; hope if fizzles before it gets here. In the mean time, maybe we'll get a little rain out of this one that's moving in now.

Also think I'll lock this one up and see you all in the June tracking thread!

(((hugs to all)))
