Happy June, everyone!!!
Gosh, the year is nearly half over! Yikes!!! Where has the time gone???

I will tell you...this is the purrrrrfect month to start back on the straight and narrow!
It's a bug-a-boo of mine, but I like to start a diet on a Sunday, and the first of the month. Soooooo....today's the day! Gonna get *down and dirty*...
  • NEAS...(no eats after supper/or seven)
  • I'm going back to Protien power for a while to see if I can get re-energized and get some focus back.
  • continue with the fitness walking and biking, but gonna get on it earlier in the day to get the old metabolism revved up.
Anyhoo, anyone else have a bug-a-boo to start on the first of the month which happens to be a Sunday????

over and out!
(((hugs to all)))

I'm leaving in just a while for the airport. I would love to come home from Nebraska at the same weight as this morning --- or even better, less than I was today. I will definitely get in plenty of walking. Now, if I can just control my mouth.

Happy June everyone!

Nice idea, Shel. But, it doesn't move me this particular Sunday! Dang it! I wish that I could turn on that "switch," but i think that I am staying where I am for a while. I'm too busy right now to give the time needed to get this done. Maybe next month.

Helping serve communion at church this morning. Then home to the inevitable lunch, and then to create a powerpoint presentation that I promised to have done in two more days! It is the closing worship service for annual conference of my denomination here in SoCa. Not a lot of typing, but I want it to look really pretty.

Dh is taking the car to LA, and will be home late afternoon. That's about all for today.

Traveling mercies, Judy. I hope you can check in while in Nebraska.

Love and kisses to the rest of you dear one dealing with so much this day.

Well, it didn't happen for me either! Almost. But not quite. I'm still pumped about getting on with Protein Power and getting in the *groove*, so tomorrow will have to be the second best day *to start*! LOL!

June already....wow!

Today was a good day. Got up early and headed to town to see my grandaughter receive her 1st communion. My grandsons' were in church also and little Nolyn just beamed when he saw me. We seem to have a special connection. He stayed beside me the whole time and was so good in church. After it was over he quietly said...I'm coming home with you! I'd have taken him if I didn't have to work tomorrow.

After church we had time to grab a salad at Wendy's and head off for Micayla's dance recital. It was great! She was an Egyptian and danced to the song...Dance Like An Egyptian. I didn't realize that she is taking tap, ballet, and jazz! Maybe some day she can teach me how to dance!

I dropped 2 lbs today...no idea why. But, it did give me the incentive to watch what I ate today. After we got home, I put in my new Jillian Michaels' exercise dvd. I mangaged to make it the 20 minutes, but I know I'm going to be hurting tomorrow. That woman is crazy! First thing she wanted me to do was pushups!! Does she know how many years it's been since this old body has done something like that? I tried, but could very easily have fallen and broken my nose! lol

Off for some senseless tv and relaxation...talk to you all tomorrow.

Good morning gang!! Taking a cleaning break to stop by before the thunderstorm reaches and I need to turn the computer off. Had to take the car today and drive everyone to work/school because of it. No need to risk walking in weather with the kids when there is talk of hail.

Had a message on the machine that a client from LA Weight Loss would like me to give her a call. She just happens to be one of the current 5 families that are building a Habitat Home. Neat!! I'll give her a call a little bit later during the little ones nap time. Hope you all have a great day!!!

Oh, Bert,
I'm so sorry to hear of your hubby's set backs. That is alot to go through...for you both. Good thoughts and prayers headed your way.
What's the word on the knee replacement? I'm betting it's *off indefinitely*?
Please keep us posted as you can. I hope you are able to get a little rest during the time he is in the SNF. Take care of you, to!

Donna...I'm so glad you got to attend Mickey's 1st communion. How sweet it must have been. Did she wear *the heels*? LOL! And, girlfriend...if those hateful scales gives you a 2 lb loss...TAKE IT and run...don't look back!

Heather...sounds like you've had busy times lately! Curious to find out what the LAWL client wants. LAWL chat or home building chat? Maybe a soon to be new friend for you? That would be nice. I believe a person can certainly use all the friends they can get...friendships make life better!

Judy...hope your flight was good. Will you get any chances to go shopping or on any outtings? Enjoy if you do, kiddo!!

Everyone else...waves and hugs! Hope you all are well!

Seems like forever since I've got to sit down here by the pool for a visit. I continue to walk every morning; still only averaging about 3.35 miles in an hour, but at least the old body is in motion.
Also, at this time, I really am going to insist that I become the President of the Procrastinator's Club! ha! I've looked at that stinkin' wall paper in the kitchen every d*mn day for 2 months, and can't seem to get my act together to get started. I had so hoped to have at least the kitchen done by now. Oh well, as Scarlett O'Hara said, "I'll think about it tomorrow". Well....my thinking has actually been more like "I'll think about it next month!" har!

Kassie is still being Kassie. Really, I think maybe she is beginning to *mellow* out a bit. It seems like her biting and heJJ-cat episodes don't happen quite as often as they did...I think...kinda sorta...well, maybe...

OK...off to fold laundry and unload the dishwasher. Then maybe a quick run to the SuperTarget to spend my gift card that I recieved for Nurse's Day from the hospital.

(((hugs to all)))

Hi gang, I'm getting over the hacking and tiredness FINALLY! Thanks for the Mucinex tip, Shell. That really helped. Had to resort to cough syrup with codeine to sleep at night, though. Anyway, that's totally enough about that, except to say that the plus side is that I must be down a few pounds, so might as well take advantage of June 1.

This week, at least tomorrow through Friday I'll be working full time, most of it corporate training, then back to some kind of normal schedule thereafter. Sure not used to putting in that many hours.... Ok, you full timers, don't shoot me! Had to call 911 at work last night. First big emergency, but considering, everything went smoothly.

Bert, many thoughts and prayers going out to you and to dh. I know it's difficult, but sometimes so necessary to be in a place where there can be the kind of care needed. HUGS, dear Bert. You've been through so much.

Missed saying bye to Judy, but I'm betting she'll have a great time in Nebraska especially since this not be her first time grading. I seem to remember last year she said the food was a little too good there!

Shell, bet your day is going better than yesterday. Maybe I can join you in a little exercise. I really like PP and hope it works great for you. Procrastination?? Darlin' if you want to see what procrastination looks like, come to my house!

Donna, bet Micayla was adorable. What a great day for her LOL about being glad you're not the one in trouble.

Peg, it's terrific to hear how many friends you are making and activities you're engaging in. Sounds as though you are feeling more and more at home.

Alida, Heather, MaryKay, Barb, Sus, big waves. I'll try not to be such a stranger, although this is going to be a loooooong week.

Talk about loooooong weeks; can I top you??

I'm not going to list it all, but my dear brother and his wife (whom I love dearly in case you didn't figure that out) are coming on Wednesday night, Thursday all day and Thursday night, leaving Friday morning early. Sooo, my dear, wonderful (I mean it) Sis-in-law is a real neat freak and I just don't have a real neat home right now. It's pretty clean, but not very neat. So, amidst all the rest of the stuff, I have to clean and put things in corners (hoping that she won't find them)

Dh's celebration of 50 years of ordination is coming up on Sunday too. I'm getting real nervous about that. I have to speak at the dinner. AND, two of my grandkids have birthdays this week. Luckily, one of them is going to be 15 and doesn't want me within 30 miles of her! The other one is in TX, so I can probably send something over the internet.

Today is wash day, and three meetings day. The last meeting is Church and Ministry which starts at 6:00 pm. It often goes til 9:00. Aaargh. I'm between meetings now.

Oh, I know.....I'm not really in the Fridge, but I wouldn't kill for a glass of wine, which I probably won't get since I'll be in a meeting until the next meeting.

See ya, Peg
ps: Bert: Prayers ascending for you and for your dh. Please know that you are covered by the love of the Holy Spirit through all of us. Come here and let us hug and kiss on you!

Tuesday morning: I'm back from the trip to FL. Had a great time. However, there must be a name for what happens to you when you go five days without an internet connection. Net-stipation?? Forgive me for not reviewing all posts (right this minute anyway). I'll pick up with June.

Bert, so sorry about your health struggles. Thank you for keeping us up-to-date. I know I depended on the support of my "friends in the box" when I was hanging around the hospital a lot. We'll be here for you.

Peg, you must be Wonder Woman to accomplish all the work you do. Personally, I wouldn't lift a finger to please a "neat freak" in my own home. I'm sure your worship presentation was well-received and appreciated.

Shelley, I'm more than ready to hop on the LCE bandwagon. Tomorrow, I'm starting Atkins induction--first time in a long time I've tried that. I consider it a necessary "drying out" period--to remind me how I got where I wanted to be, and to get back there ASAP.

My cat was well cared for while I was away. She thinks she owns this place anyway, and doesn't seem to care whether I'm here or not, as long as the food gets refreshed now and then. There's something to be said for the mellowness of old age. In cats anyway.

Gotta run. Time for my Tuesday Bible study group, and getting back to my normal life (whatever that is!) Back later.

Good morning!

Hmm. June already, huh?

BERT, prayers ascending. This must be very hard for you. Skilled nursing will take some of the load off you, but the worry will always be there. Many, many hugs --

BARB, wow. That was a fast trip! You are lucky to have "Veronica-Care" so close to home. I have a neighbor, bless her heart.

JUDY, if I recall, you do stop in every now and then from NE. This is your third go-around, isn't it? You are an old hand at grading those papers by now. Any friendly competition going on?

BRENDA, believe me -- I know what it's like to go from being at home to working. It does shock the system. Thank goodness you are over whatever it was you had. Sounded nasty.

HEATHER, what a coincidence to have a person in your habitat group also be from LAWL. As Shelley, say, can't have too many friends!

SHELLEY, Protein Power, huh? I noticed a little PP link at the bottom of our thread. Maybe that will get me started again .... something a little different. LOL about that danged kitchen wallpaper. Maybe later this summer! Or, how about Fall when it's a little cooler out? I can always think of a good reason to put a project off!

PEG, a neat freak is visiting, huh? Well, you have a ready-made excuse. Your foot surgery! And I really do believe you are busier now during retirement than you ever were in Boston!

DONNA, Well, did she wear the heels? Two pounds gone? CONGRATS!! Sooner or later that darn scale has to acknowledge all your hard work.

Susie and Mary Kay --

I hear Bob is up. I have to spend a little time with him! XXOO

Just a quickie today....this is the day I have to head to town for the Cat Scan. I'm very claustrophobic so not looking forward to this.

Alida: Yes, she did wear the heels. Her mother still wasn't very happy about it....she could have bought her another pair of shoes if it upset her so much. The deal was that she wasn't allowed to have any until she was over 14 and didn't think it was fair that her dd could. Childish? Yup!

Berta: I've been thinking of you so much! I'm glad that you have company that can give you a little bit of a rest and time away. Take care of you!

Barb: Glad to see you back safe and sound. Induction? Sounds like something I need.

Peg: You are going to be one busy lady....we'll keep your seat by the pool here for you.

Okay...here's the deal. Last night when I got home from work I cut the grass. Then after dinner I walked the dogs, did my 40 minute walk outside, then did the exercise tape that is going to break all my bones. I watched every stupid little morsel that went into my mouth...and went to bed hungry. I was rewarded this morning with a 1/2 lb. gain!!!! I got off that scale and moved it all over the floor and kept trying to see if it would go down...not a chance. I'm furious...with myself, and the stupid scale. I was sure I would see it go down. Here I am walking around moaning and groaning cause I hurt so much. I'm exercising enough to be able to start my own classes and nothing is happening! Yet still, my clothes are all fitting (except for the belly roll), but my measurements aren't changing. Grrrrrr....all I can do is keep on trying I guess.
The stupid box with the video said I would get 6 pack abs if I kept it up for 1 month....should I believe them? lol

Gotta run...I have to leave at noon to make my appointment.
