Berta, what great kids you have. It's so good to hear that your DH is doing well and will soon get to come home.

MK, I'd be excited and visiting the property every day, too. Don't apologize, enjoy the process.

Judy, what a nice find. The picture sounds just perfect. I know you had a big A-HA moment when you saw it.

Bert, ditto Judy. Great kids and wonderful that dh's surgery went well and he will be home soon. (Glad you got this break to be taken care of, though).

MK, I can feel your enthusiam. Scary but exciting, isn't it? I absolutely love great views in a home. It makes such a difference.

Heather, maybe that sums it up for you, too--scary but exciting. We'll miss you if you post less frequently, but the hours you put in on your home are a priority. Catch us up when you can.

Peg? How's puppy mom-hood going? Are you exhausted?

Waves to Alida, Donna, Shelley, Susie, Rachel (out there somewhere).

No reason to be, but I'm having trouble getting my energy on an even keel. Ack! I could absolutely fall asleep right now even though I slept well last night. No time, work in a few hours and lots to do before then. See ya!

Hi Gang! I'm going to try this picture thing. I haven't gotten any of Glory UP yet. She is 9 weeks old and when I am playing with her, she plays hard. For about a hour, then sleeps for two hours. Such a baby. Awww.

trying again. 1. She's sleeping on a bed which she really likes to play with. She had just collapsed in it. 2. She fell asleep oplaying with her red bear on our dark leather couch.

Good Morning, er, afternoon, Bert! I had surprise company this morning...a friend brought me a knitting machine and some old needles from a relative's house they are cleaning out. After dh fixes her computer, I'll take it to her house where she says I can pick yarn I want from the boxes this relative has. One again I wish I had more space--I don't even know where I'm going to put the knitting machine, or if I'll even keep it.

Does anyone want boxes of cross stitch patterns and floss? I don't have the patience for cross stitch and my friend would love to find a good home before she garage sales everything.

Oh Peg, what a little cutie! Don't you love how puppies only have two speeds--full speed and off She's already a very trusting little sweetie if she sleeps with her belly exposed TOO CUTE!

Bert, yup, you don't want surprises at this point! DH is scheduled to come home at the end of the week, right?

Good afternoon!

Late but better than missing another day. So much to talk about!

Peg!!! Glory is adorable. I can't wait to see a good picture of her face. My mother's nickname was Glory (Gloria). Great name!

Donna, it sounds like things are moving along and you are adapting to them. (((HUGS))) So your son is Micayla's step dad, huh? I know we always sympathize with the kids, but I think sometimes they are the ones who adapt better than the adults. I didn't know your son had "anger management" issues. Years ago, no one would ever give this a second thought. People got mad then got over it. As long as there is no physical abuse, I think keeping it bottled up inside can be worse. Oh, that's right -- you said he does keep it all inside. Maybe some "help" will help .....

Heather, Congratulations! You must be one very excited lady!

Brenda, so DH finally got a resume out. That's great! I remember I had a very hard time doing that. In a way, I was really enjoying not working!

Thanks for the tip about not getting convection with the microwave. I was just looking at one of those this morning.

Judy, attics can be so much fun! The painting sounds wonderful. Once it's all spiffed up maybe we can see a picture? And no Frigidaire? Again, this morning I was looking at that brand, among others. My boss recommended a Bosch. But I have read really bad nightmare stories about the Bosch dishwasher on line. Stink! Doesn't dry! Leaves food all over! Sheesh. Then I read about Kitchen Aid. I had a KA in my big house. Thirteen years with only 2 repairs. Read about them now and more horror stories. I really don't know what to look at! My DIL is going for the high end GE. But yanno, you can read bad reviews of those, too. SIGH. I wonder if ... gasp! ... Kenmore is any better? I swore many years ago to never buy anything from Sears. This was about 38 years ago, so maybe Kenmore is better now?

Berta, oh, what a wonderful visit from your kids! And it sounds like they really did a lot of things that helped you a lot. Bless their hearts! --- TIME OUT --- Miss Muffin demands her dinner.

It's too late to say "Safe Trip" to Barb. Being somewhere without the internet sounds like bliss.

Mary Kay, never apologize for being a "bother" to your contractor. This house should be everything you want it to be ... and what you are paying for. Besides, best catch errors now, while building!

Yesterday I got up early to water the lawn -- first real watering of the grass this year. Bob was helping me get one hose out and he says: "Hmm. Looks like rain," "Nah," I reply. I am never that lucky. Well ... I was! Nice rain for most of the morning and early afternoon! It might be mid July before I have to water the grass. I cleaned out some drawers and really polished my bedroom furniture. I wonder where this energy is coming from. Can it be regular exercise at Curves????

And Brenda -- you were saying how tired you are. I personally think it's the new job. Even if you like it, it's still added stress. Your whole schedule that you have lived with for years is being thrown out of whack. So, along with all the usual everyday stuff you have to think about -- dinners, shopping, dogs to vet, laundry, etc. -- you now have added stuff to think about. Sound plausible?

Have a great Sunday evening. XXOO

Thought for the day -- why does spell check keep insisting the word internet should be spelled INTERNET??

Alida, Our oven is Kenmore, and the remainder of the appliances in the house are Whirlpool. I think Kenmore is now made by Whirlpool. We've been pretty lucky with them. I recommend looking at them. They are not quite a pricey as some of the other brands.

I've wondered why internet is always corrected as INTERNET, too.

Well, there's always Viking ranges and Sub-Zero fridges When we win the lottery, right? Anyway, have you read anything about Fisher and Paykel appliances? They're quite sleek, but I don't know about their reputation.

Hola all!

Things are moving along well with re-decorating and such. I spent July 1-10 removing wallpaper and prepping walls. The drywall guys come today to do texture, and then painting will commence.(wanna come help me, Judy?...ha!)
I've got the paint colors down to 2 choices(pretty sure actually), and I'll probably get the new furniture ordered this week as well.

Floor and window treatments are the only things I'm not really sure about at this point.

Anyhoo....glad everyone is well and *humming* along

I hope to be back in the ranks in a few weeks.

(((hugs and love to all)))

I'm back from the weekend from heJJ...but I'm alive so that's good news.

I had forgotten how much work 3 little kids can be. Where did I ever have the energy to raise 5 and babysit 10 more? I must have had rocks in my head.

Since Friday night I did 9 loads of laundry!! Those kids sure do go through the towels and clothes. I basically ended up babysitting them all weekend. Ddil kept text messaging ds and wanting to meet with him to "talk". So, he would leave and I got stuck babysitting. My house has been demolished...cause they don't listen and just throw things wherever they please....they jump on beds...tease the dogs until they try to bite...eat everything in sight and what they don't want they throw on the floor...you get the picture...totally out of control. I did my best but can't say too much after the drama of last winter. Anyway, one good thing did come of all this....ds has gone home to his wife and kids. They packed everything up last night (after I made dinner for 8 while ddil sat on her butt eating cherries like some kind of queen!!). Our house is sooooo peaceful now. The dogs are happy...the cat has come back in the house after hiding outside for 3 days. I hope a week away was enough time for them to realize they are good together but need help...not my problem!

Judy: I did try to take a hot bath...ended up with 3 kids coming in..one had a new boo-boo, the other was going to clean it for him and the third just wanted to see what was going on. I thought the door was locked!!

Good score on the picture. I inherited a gorgeous picture from my aunt years ago..just what I was looking for too. I often wonder with old picture..did people hide things behind the picture in the frame? lol hmmmm, maybe I'll have to take a peek when I get home.

Peg: Glory is just adorable!! I love the way puppies run around and then just drop. She's going to be just what you wanted, I can feel it.

Shelley: It's so good to hear from you...looks like your staying out of trouble.

Berta: Glad to hear that dh is on the mend. Your kids are absolutely great. I'm sure you wouldn't want to trade for mine. lol

MaryKay: I'd be visiting the site everyday too. Your excitement is catchy.

Well, guys it looks like I'd better get back to work. Just wanted to let you know that I survived the weekend. (barely)
