| Hi guys! Finally I think this nausea has left....oh happy day! The carpet got installed yesterday...I love it!!! Otherwise, flying by...... I don't think I'll be on board with the Beck thing. I can't see me buying another book at this time....I haven't even finished my Taubes book (Good Calories-Bad Calories) yet. Yeeesh. I got terribly side tracked with my projects, and soon I'll be getting ready for vacation, so I think I'll just keep doin' what I'm doin'... using my fitday, doing my fitness walking, and aim to be a few more pounds down before vacation.(I'd be tickled with 3-5 more pounds gone before we leave) Rach, Judy, Peg, Bren, MK, Bert, Alida, Donna...you guys will be great support and coaches for each other. Each and everyone of you ROCK, and when the going gets tough, I know you *tuffies* will get going! And, Donna...you are SO right!...pink eye is VERY contagious! here's a carpet pic with the old sofa, of course...maybe you can get a little idea about the pattern.(carpet is not terribly easy to photograph!...don't know why...) (((hugs to all))) s

Go back tomorrow for a follow up with doctor. Amazing... had eye bandaged a couple of hours and just some drops for a few days.. Dilation has not gone down yet, but I can see better already!! Yay. | Hi all, flyby until later - (I am at work this Thursday morning and hope to check in later tonight)... Berta, I did perfectly fine without the workbook the first time through. The book itself is very accessible and has all the appropriate space in it. I would suggest using pencil though in case you change your mind or in case you want to note things - you should see mine, sheeeesh! full of notes, highlights and scribbles! And congrats!! on the successful surgery - there is a wonderful world out there to see!! ![]() Shelley, believe me, I know exactly what you mean about having yet one more diet book! You don't have to be going through this to be our support and our diet coach! Besides you seem to be in a very good place right now, especially on the fitness side of things... Judy, honestly, your words are so dear, thank you!Donna, honestly, some of the stories I could tell you, you would have a hard time believing, it's true... my life is sort of a live version of the saying, "Truth is stranger than fiction" or, "Ya can't make this stuff up!!" Peg, YAA HOO on that latest pound... So far this morning I have read my response cards twice; I have eaten mindfully and slowly, and I have given myself credit... 'k dolls, must run, hoping to 'visit' you all later...

| Good morning! this will be quick -- we are having our driveway torn out this morning! Bob moved the big flower pots last night -- but right on to the walkway section that is being done, too. I bent down and realized there was no way I would be able to lift them up and move them this morning. Paul -- I am Polish too ... with some Russian thrown into the mix! Welcome! Today I will try to get the Beck book at Borders ... I have a 40% off coupon, too! Shelley - the rug is positively, absolutely gorgeous. You must be so thrilled! Mary Kay, my arthritic hip started just that way -- hard to get up from a sitting position and hard to spread my legs. It actually started about 14 years ago. My first hip replacement was last year and this January should see the other one replaced. Yes, it was better when I was thinner, but once bone started hitting bone, I could have been a wisp, but the pain would have still been there. Maybe some arthritis just degenerates more than others? I hope and pray yours will just "sit there" and respond to less weight and light drugs! Berta, I forgot about your operation. I am so glad everything went well. Now you can SEE to READ Beck's! Got to run .. driveway guy is here! XXOO

| Flying by too...put pictures in my journal. Take care! I must get the house clean. I'm still doing all the house work, working nearly full time hours on the house site, taking care of two boys and M, trying to get us outside everyday...busy lady and loving it! Oh yes, in my journal is a story of neighbor Joe nailing two of his fingers while standing right next to me. Didn't even make one peep! DH joked with group that he is pi$$ed at Joe because now if it happens to him he'll have to man up, lol. |

| I read somewhere that this is supposed to be a lucky day being 08/08/08...let me tell you someone lied. I fell going UP the stairs going into the warehouse. Wiped out both legs, one elbow, and the palms of both hands. I look like a little kid with scrapes down both shinbones. It's been a long time since I've taken any skin off....and it HURTS! I was just grateful that I didn't break anything cause I would have laid there a long time before anyone else shows up. Last night I spent 4 hours working on the front yard. I've finished pruning the last of the lilacs down to ground level so I can work on the stumps. Also cut down 3- 4' spruce trees. And, pruned another tree that was close to the spot I'm working on. The yard looks huge to me now. I'm pretty sure I've found a spot for the weeping fig that I really want. Woke up to rain this morning....what a treat! And, there are severe thunderstorm warnings in effect for this area. Hope it doesn't affect the power cause I have invoices to get off today. Speaking of that...I'd better get moving...have a great weekend everyone.

| Last night I preached for Vespers. I KILLED 'em! I told a story about what happened to Bob and I in Czechoslovakia (when it was that) and used the Emmaus story in the Bible. Anyway, lots of laughs. Lots of appreciation for my story telling ability. lots of appreciation for the music too! That surprised me.And, I lost two pounds yesterday! That's 6 lbs since Monday. I do have to confess that "things moved right along" yesterday, if you get my drift and I felt much better after that. The weight loss was a bonus. Not eating at night is a problem for me. I need to find some things that I can eat without blowing my numbers. It needs to be protein. I'm thinking that I will boil some eggs today and then I can eat them tonight when I get hungry. I could also fix an egg salad, but would have to count anything I put in the egg salad. I don't have any deli meat, and I seem to remember that that was real important years ago when I started this. It's good to snack on too. Today I still have Faith. She is doing remarkably well considering the past times. In fact, last night she asked to stay another week! I don't think so. She goes home on Sunday after Church. She has met a friend here and they have been spending as much time together as they can. Their Mom is home schooling him in the morning, so at least he doesn't come over before lunch. Bob and I have been splitting the lunch hour between us so that we can each have lunch and still be with Faith. She has been fine with the dog, but to tell the truth, I think she doesn't watch Sweet Pea, but they do walk together, SP on a leash always. Speaking of SP, the boys I asked came through. They are going to watch her during the week and the woman across the street is going to watch her on the weekends all here at the house. That will be so much more comfortable for SP. She wet the bed again last night. Those times are becoming fewer and fewer, but I think she was just so tired last night she didn't realize what she was doing. I don't know. I was asleep, and felt this warm wet at the end of the bed. I was too sleepy to do anything about it, so just moved over and went back to sleep. I was creeped out about it, but not enough to do anything about it. ![]() I've just not had time to read much of the Beck book, but maybe today I can grab a few minutes. I did find myself eating standing up the other day. Faith had left a bowl of Cheezits (my favorite indulgence) crumbs on the sink. I picked it up and upended it into my mouth before I even knew what I was doing! But, it's over now, and today is a new day. Also, I didn't let it sabotage the rest of the day for me. Well, gotta jet gal pals. I hear the pool boy calling me. Naughty boy. It's only 9:00 a.m. ![]() Peg |

| Well, the good news (credit) for me is that I have been following the Beck rules --- especially not eating standing up and determining true hunger vs. cravings. I get a smile each afternoon when the alarm on my phone goes off to remind myself that I need to remember the reasons that I am doing this again and to give myself credit for what I have done right. The bad news is....... after a 5.5 pound weight loss since the first of the month, the scale went the wrong way thing morning by 1.5. How can you gain 1.5 pounds when you only ate 1200 calories and reasonable carbs? I am not discouraged.... I am not discouraged.... I am not discouraged.... Peg, way to go on the sermon. I can tell you feel better about Sweet Pea's care while you are gone. Donna, sorry about the fall. The only thing that might have been worse would have been to have done it in front of a group. That's more like the way it would have happened to me. Shel, Cool Pix. Pretty girl Heather, Glad to hear things are going well on the home building front. Will they start your house before winter so that you can work on it during bad weather? Alida, How did the driveway turn out? Berta, Glad to hear that the surgery went well. I had laser correction done a couple of years ago. The recovery was great .... except not being able to wear eye makeup to work for a couple of weeks. Back to the Olympic Opening Ceremony....... Hugs to all I missed.
