![]() Donna I couldn't find a shoe stretcher around here either, but I'm always amazed what I can find in cyber space. Here's what I got: Amazon.com: FootFitter Pro Two-Way Shoe Stretcher: Apparel I figure it'll pay for itself if I save even a pair of shoes. Poor Sora! Hope you get to the bottom of her tummy, Donna, no pun intended. Yes, it is Peg's surgery day, I think. Wow, hope she's ok. Peg, please let us know how you are when you are up to it! Speaking of fitness (ouch, was I?) here's an article I found really interesting. This was mentioned elsewhere on LCE by a member but I can't remember where..... Eight seconds key to weight loss | Health & Lifestyle | News.com.au Supposedly you can use this idea for any kind of cardio activity. Now, wonder how I could get a timer to ding every 8, then 12 seconds. Any ideas? This morning I felt like the queen of office technology because I figured out it was possible to set the postage machine a day ahead if one needed to get a big mailing ready ahead of time. Doesn't take much to make my day, eh?

| Another glorious day in KC--perfect for the li'l trick-or-treaters tonight. The kids from the preschool at the church next door paraded through the downstairs hallway of my building yesterday morning, and got treats from the resident "old people." They were so cute! I was puzzled by one little boy's costume, which involved an umbrella, and something like a hula hoop with animals hanging from it. Hours later, it dawned on me: a merry-go-round! My friend and I attended the information session about how to apply for becoming a Docent or a Guide at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. It's a huge study commitment, equal to working on a college degree. In essence, the Museum would become my third home, after home and church. I'm giving it serious consideration, because I love the museum, I love art, and I love to learn. The trombone has pretty much gone by the wayside, I have to admit. I had fun tackling the challenge, but I didn't see myself making a long-term commitment to that particular activity, or that group of people. Aside from the fact that I wasn't showing much native talent. It's good to try stuff anyway.Peg, thinking of you! Donna, thinking of you, too. It's just one thing after another isn't it with our furkids. But what can you do? You are the caregiver supreme. I'd love to converge at the casino. Can I estimate my mileage? I'm a free spirit walker. Yesterday, I decided to walk to the Plaza, and ended up walking right into an Ann Taylor Loft sale. It's about time for me to take off for this morning's Tour de Brookside. Enjoy the day, and watch out for ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggedy beasties. |

| Bert, thanks! In that case, I'll take the penthouse ![]() Barb, a group of our residents made beaucoup cupcakes and cookies yesterday and we're having an open house for neighborhood little ghoulies and goblins this afternoon. Should be fun but probably a bit tiring for all concerned. I'm trying to decide whether I go in some kind of costume or NOT. NOT, most likely!

He, his oldest son, and his son, did the Olympic torch relay back in the 90's?(I think...CRS) when the torch went cross country and weaved into Oklahoma, prior to reaching it's destination for the Olympics that year. Nothing spectacular planned for the day; perhaps a dinner date with DH this evening. At some point I will *do* the wild-child ...a good brushing and claw trim. It's a battle of the wills, on that little chore! LOL!(((hugs to all))) s

| Hooked up the pedometer...it is not measuring very accurately.. sometimes doesnt count a step.. and then pull down the jeans and it measures.. guess i shudda got the one on the internet instead of being in a hurry. Congrats again, Shelley, well done for month of October. Pretty boring at my house today did a little laundry, did little (emphasis on little) cleaning.. maybe a night at the movies.. Apaloosa is on.. a western is always an incentive for dh. Last day or 2 has been pretty good.Peg: How's it going?? hope you are getting up and about some. Barb: Museum guide, that should be intersting and a real learning experience. The study committment.. never really thought about how much guides must study. Well, off to finishing the "Rabbit Proof Fence". |

| Happy Halloween........... It was really a stretch for me to use orange type. Tomorrow is the big Texas Tech / UT football game. We are going to Dallas tomorrow to check on my dad, but be assured that we will be home in time for kickoff. Go Raiders! Guns Up!! If any of you want to join Shelley, Berta and me on our virtual trek to the casino, get yourself a pedometer (or estimate if you want, Barb) and jump in. We are going to the Windstar Casino just inside the Oklahoma line about 2 seconds from Texas (Thackerville, Ok.) The walk is 167 fitness miles for Shelley, 189 total walking step miles for me and about 320 double credit miles for Berta. Figure out how far it is for you and what kind of adjustment or multiplier you need to get there about the same time as we do. We ought to make it before Christmas. We start tomorrow. Grrrr......... daylight savings time is ending. I'm going to have to make some big adjustments to get home and get a walk in before dark. Peg, hope you foot will allow you to get back up and walking again soon.
