Hi guys,
flying by to say hey!

Barb...along with DEC I have to beware of EEK (Evil Evening Knosh-monster)
Boy is he a baaaaad dude!!! I think he and the carb creep are pretty good friends at my house. Instead of the dynamic duo, I call them the destructive duo! LOL!
Danger lurks at every corner! har!!

I may be in-communicato for the rest of the month. Appts and spring cleaning is taking priority for the rest of the week. aacckk! After today, the weather guys have promised at least 7 days without rain, so window washing inside and out is on the agenda, along with cleaning light fixtures, ceiling fans, baseboards, and the pantry. Since I don't use my bread machine anymore(only for DD and DGS...they love Parmesan-herb bread), I think I'll clear the decks and think about a new Kitchen-aid stand mixer. We'll see.
Anyhoo...
Judy...have a good trip! I'm sure you'll do just fine. If I recall, you have quite a bit of walking each day, don't you? Take your tennies and do an extra 15 minutes; you'll be good 2 go!

Donna...hope your day is good! Happy gardening! I know that is something that soothes your soul!

Everyone else...waves and big grins

(((hugs all around)))

Quick fly by while I wait for the Geeks are Us guys to show up and move all the info onto my new computer. I'm praying that no info gets lost.

The scale is slowly moving in the right direction. I've been very careful since we got back from holidays. No snacking at night! Shell...that monster is in my house too. I've picked up my knitting again while watching tv so that helps. (17 togues done now).

Crazy weather here too. Monday it was so hot we had lunch in the park. The furgirls loved it. Yesterday it just poured! Today is cloudy but warm. I hope to get to the park today.

Okay...I think I should get back to work. Have a great day!

Donna, Congrats on the new computer and especially on the downward trend on the scale.

TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY OF CLASSES!! (actually, my last finals were yesterday)

Quote:
Today's project was cleaning my office. I spent the biggest part of the day in there--shredded so much stuff that I overheated the shredder. It's sooo much better! Tomorrow is graduation practice and graduation tomorrow night. I seriously doubt that I will show up on campus in between. I have every thing shut down and I'm checked out.

Yay, Judy...you made it another year. Now you can relax during the summer and enjoy yourself.

Well, the new computer didn't happen. I knew it was a mistake for my boss to buy one by himself. All new computers are now loaded with Vista rather than Windows XP. All my programs aren't compatable with Vista so he has to buy all new programs. Plus, I'm on dial up where my office is and will need a new modum. So, the tech spent a couple of hours transferring what he could and will come back next Wednesday with everything we need to finish the job. I'm a little nervous about having Vista on the computer as I've heard so many bad things about it. I'll only have a couple of hours to play with it and learn where things are before I print invoices the next day. Should be fun. More stress I don't need.

We have another ball tournament this weekend. It's so bloomin' hot here it will be great. We're taking the motorhome and just sleeping right at the ball field rather than drive home between games. It's only a 52 mile drive but with the price of gas it's better to just stay there. The one downside of this is that I won't have a car to drive to shop between games. I guess it's not a downside in dh's opinion.

Another team dinner on Saturday night. I've stuck to my woe for a week now and seeing progress. It will be interesting to see which of the team members brings cream puffs.... they are determined that I'm going to eat them. I'm just as stubborn that I won't...but I sure want to. lol

Have a great weekend everyone.

Woohoo, Judy! I can just see you kicking up your heels doing that happy dance down the road AWAY from school. I know you'll be keeping yourself very busy in the days ahead--but don't forget to play.

Donna, ain't that the way with computers??? I'm due for a new one, but I just don't want to face the transition hassles. Maybe at the end of the summer.

Well, we survived our first day of sailing lessons on the water. Whew. Take two strong-minded people, put them in a little sailboat, and see if they make any headway. We spent a lot of time standing still--or drifting backwards--"discussing" what needed to be done to get the boat going again, in ANY direction. We managed to dump the boat over, and so learned 1) the water wasn't all THAT cold, and b) how to get it back up again. In fact, we learned a lot, and look forward to getting better the next time out. (It looks so easy when other people are doing it.)

Peg, I'm thinking of you on the eve of Pentecost. What's up? Hope the house project is going well.

Everybody take a deep breath.

From my Facebooks status........

"Life happens fast" pretty much sums it up. Tomorrow I pack and am out of here for 9 days. I did manage to be low key and even take a nap this afternoon. At the wedding tonight, I could easily have had another piece of the cake. What is it about wedding cake? The darn stuff is addictive. However, I'm trying to remember DEC! "Don't eat crap!" I did manage to lay off the rolls and potatoes at the dinner.

Judy, only the 2nd piece of wedding cake falls into the "C" category. The first piece, according to traditional rules of dieting, is a festive food, and therefore contains NO calories.

Now relax and enjoy yourself!

Excellent thought process, Barb. I supposed the rule could be amended to say "DEC, or if you do, don't eat anything else".
