Happy May Day! Caught me by surprise. But then, I'm displaced. I'm writing from Wichita, where it is still raining. Hope I don't have to drive through a downpour all the way back to KC today.

Shelley, I thought of you when the road signs started pointing the way to OKC. We sure did have a good time at the Convergence. Maybe it's about time to do that again. Whom shall we import from Armenia?

Gotta get on with the packing. I have to get home in time for the Pirates of Penzance tonight--the only funny pirates on the planet right now.

Happy Friday everybody.

there's a gal in Jersey(or MA?...not sure where Rach is at the moment) we could call....

And, I would LOVE to do a convergence again. I would be more than happy to host again, and if anyone needs to be thrifty, I can bunk 4 (or more).

DH's cousin passed away last night. He was only 58 or 59...I can't remember, but waaaay to young. As Barb said a few weeks ago, cancer isn't particular who it chooses for a victim. sigh.
I'm not sure when the services will be, but DH doesn't think he will be able to get off work. Employers now adays idea of *immediate family* doesn't include 1st cousins; and personally, I am closer to my cousins than a lot of siblings are. sigh again.

Sunday is the 10th anniversary of the BIG May 3rd tornado, and also our 35th wedding anniversary! I'm here to tell ya, celebrating an anniversary is waaaay more fun than hunkering down in the laundry room, hoping and praying you and your spouse will survive the tornado. ack!

Also a couple of Dr appts for me next week, and possibly the funeral, so I'll check in when I can.

Everyone have a fantastic weekend!!!

Sorry about last night's post. We got a new laptop and I don't have the touch down on it yet.

Comment from last night -- No Swine flu at our school. One district nearby is closed. TEA is giving a waiver to all that shut down. They don't have to make up the days. Just our luck. I swear if we were out, they wouldn't have given everyone the waiver.

DS and family are supposed to come for lunch tomorrow. I spent a good part of the day cleaning house. They haven't seen the updates and repairs. As bad as the weather forecast is for tomorrow, I may recommend that they wait until another weekend.

I'm pooped and calling it a night. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyying by as I fall asleep at the computer. I did this yesterday morning too! Dang! Luckily, SP just crawls in bed with me and takes a nap too.

Big meeting tomorrow night and I am almost ready. Just a few things left to do. My nephew is in a dance concert tonight at a nearby college. I don't want to go, but the poor kid needs some support. Dang!

Nighty morning!

Evidently yesterday was the only day that SP was willing to nap with me in the morning. So..........I'm up. Bed made, dishes done, ready to go to the "inevitable lunch" and then back to work some more on the meeting tomorrow night.

fly by to say hey!
we've had crummy weather...cold and rainy. Flooding almost state wide. sheesh...old mom nature has definitely been acting ugly! LOL!
As of today, the meaning of *an old married woman* hit me smack in the face! DH and I marked our 35th wedding anniversary today; he went to work and I stayed home with the cat.
Ain't love grand????? hehe. (it's OK...he'll make up for it later...he just doesn't know it yet, but he will.) <giggle>

How did it get to be Monday already?? Shelley, we lucked out this weekend, and the predicted rain stayed down there in OKC. We went to a great outdoor art fair and a high school lacrosse game. I've never watched lacrosse before, and liked it a lot.

Shelley, congrats to you on 35 married years. These days that's a rare accomplishment. Hope you got appropriately, um, appreciated.

Our church event in support of the girls' schools in Pakistan was a big success. I dressed up as a 19th century missionary and told the history of Presbyterians in the Punjab. I found a book online written in 1911 as a factual resource. Meanwhile, the nominating committee of which I am a member succeeded in tapping the last of seven members of the Pastor Search Committee, who will spend the next year or two reading resumes and praying passionately to find the next head pastor for our church.

Judy, I'm glad the flu isn't raging in your school--but that's a mixed benefit, as you observed. Take care of you. Hope you had a good time with the family.

Peg, best wishes for a good meeting. I know you'll be excellently prepared.

Take care everybody.

Well, I gotta say, I am glad that it is Tuesday!!! The meeting went well, I think, but was almost four hours long. Someone brought pizza and cokes, which made it a little more bearable. I don't believe in a meeting longer than an hour and a half. So, I've got some paring to do when I plan the June meeting.

Beautiful day here today. Temps are going up for the weekend. I'm so glad. Hoping to get out in the sun some time this week.

I've lost 10 lbs just eating less at lunch. How about that?

Sweet Pea has found the weight I lost. She is getting a little roly poly. Dh and I just can't seem to resist feeding her a leeeeetle people food. Sheesh!

Today is a recovery day for me and trying to make some sense of the minutes that I tried to take while I chaired the meeting!! Sheesh! Never again.

Peace, Peg

Hey girls...remember me? I've been busier than a one armed paper hanger but I've been thinking about all of you. Thanks for the e-mails.

I've been going through a lot of "crap" lately which is part of the reason I haven't been posting. I'm sure you're all as tired of my soap opera life as I am, so that's all I'm going to say about it. I'm sure you can imagine some of the things that have been happening if I just say dd is at it again.

Baseball season has again started. We had a tournament this weekend and the weather co-operated. Well, it didn't rain anyway. Sunday, Lily decided she should be on my lap which is fun seeing as I have the scoreboard there too. But, she was determined. It usually means she's cold when she wants up. She no sooner got settled in when a fellow hit a high fly ball and it came right over the backstop. I didn't even have time to move...just grab her and pull her close. Damned ball hit me right on the top of my right hand. And yes, I'm right handed. It smacked me so hard and I could think of was "I've got to pee". Boy, that hurt. If it had hit Lily I know it would have killed her. My hand is black and blue but ds checked it out and he doesn't think anything is broken. I can use it...but just don't want to touch it.

I'm still fighting the battle of the bulge. Just not winning. Doesn't matter what I do, or where I tweak, the 20 lbs I've packed on are not moving. I've upped my exercise, dropped my carbs, upped my carbs, you name it ... it's not moving. So, that's pretty discouraging.

My boss is away for the week....YIPPEE. No pressure for a whole week. Then I just have to work 4 days next week and we are taking off for a weeks holidays. Just going down to Washington to do some shopping and a little gambling for dh. I told him I really didn't get a holiday last year with babysitting his mom so this will be for me. He agrees...of course he does...he's not totally stupid. lol I'm really looking forward to getting away. And no, dmil is not coming. In fact she doesn't even know we are going.

I really should get some work done I guess. Just about lunchtime too. I'm glad to see that everyone is well, and busy. Talk to you again soon, I hope.

Donna!!! I'm SOOOOOOO glad you checked in!!! I have definitely been thinkin' 'bout ya!!
Sorry about your hand, but yay for your upcoming holiday!!

Barb...sounds like you were more than prepared for your church meeting. I bet that bit of religious history was very interesting indeed.

Peg...as always, you were prepared as well, but 4 hours???...wowzers! I would've been crossed eyed after 2 hours! LOL!
and a BIG wOOt for that 10 lb loss!!! yippee skipee!!!

We continue with daily rains and BIG T-storms, and of course the flooding. About the time those folks think they are going to get a break, another line of storms with heavy rains moves in.
Otherwise, not much going on except dr and dental appts...LOL! blech!!!

(((hugs all around)))
