    Ready or not...it's summer!!

DH announced to me today that he is on vacation! Huh?? How did I miss that???
Oh well, he needn't be worried...I found plenty for him to do today! har!!
(he just thought he was on vacation!) I've got a few more *honey-dos* in mind, over the next few days, then I guess I'll let the poor guy have a reprieve! hehe!

    I'm off to fold laundry...

June is bustin' out all over-r-r-r!

How did I know Shelley would be on top of that?

It looks like a beautiful morning in KC, so I'm about to lace up my walking booties and go out and enjoy it. DEC is working fine so far--mainly on my head, but that's where it all starts.

I have to say that the One Minute Muffin has changed my life. I eat one every day, and never seem to get tired of it. It's like an illegal treat to me. Everywhere I visit, I take my muffin mix, and I've converted a whole lot of people to the Joy of Muffin. My small contribution to a healthier America.

    Walk first. Muffin later.

    Happy June everyone.

I'm with you Barb...love those OMM's. I make them up a half dozen at a time and freeze them. It's a quick and delicious breaky.

My computer will be installed tomorrow after a rocky try last week. I'm still nervous that Vista will be on it...sometimes change is not good! lol I don't have time to be looking for things I need or having them ask if I'm sure I want to do something. Just might find that computer out the window. But, I'm sure I'll love the flatscreen monitor. Colour is gorgeous.

I'm still going down...not nearly as fast as I did the first time around. But down is good.

Dd is again trying to clean up her act. She's booted out her boyfriend who was buying the alcohol...says he told her that she had kicked the bad habit so she could have just the odd drink. I'm not sure if I believe her of him...but he quit his job working for us and left town the same day. Something is fishy! She has an appointment with a drug and alcohol councellor on Friday and has announced to all that she will be back at AA this Thursday and plans on following the steps this time. I'm afraid that she will have to prove it to me this time. I'm praying she makes it...but she's the queen of saying what she thinks people want her to say.

We had a great weekend at a ball tournement. It was so bloomin' hot but I love it. The team didn't manage to win any games but we had fun. Even had a steak dinner afterward at one of the guys homes, and get this....I managed to stay away from 4 (yes FOUR) different deserts. I crossed my hands over my chest and refused to get out of my chair in case I headed over to the desert table. And, it worked. lol

Off to do more work...does it ever end?

Day one of the five + meal a day AP reading....... I managed to avoid "crap" at snacks, and limited the eats at that time to the fresh cherries. I was careful not to load up (too much) on the wonderful dried fruit and granola with my morning yogurt. Yeah, there were two glasses of wine tonight, but overall I give myself an A- / B+ for the day. I didn't overeat and don't feel stuffed - even though it was more than normal.

Judy, events like yours are the worst for "I deserve...." You're working so hard, and then they bring on the reward: food. Well, I definitely know you're earning a couple glasses of wine. The students of America owe you bigtime!

I'm not dropping any weight, but I feel a lot better when I'm not eating crackers, nuts, and cookies all day long. I'm sure other good results will follow in due time, reminding myself for the zillionth time that it's not a diet, it's a way of life.

Tomorrow is Circle luncheon at church, which is a pigout opportunity if there ever was one. These ladies compete for who brings the most elaborate dessert to share. I'll just focus on the Bible study, thank you very much.

We seem to be missing a few in our circle here. Brenda, Peg, Alida? I know you're out there. Hope things are going okay.

A funny play tonight at the KC Repertory Theatre. See you tomorrow.

    Hi gang!

I've been a "loose cannon" for the day. DH took the day to go visit his parents and I passed on the invite. I made good use of my day shopping for a few things for myself (2 pairs of flip-flops) and a BD present for my BFF in Denver. She lost her beloved Mallory(her cat of 14 years) about 3 years after we lost our Fu kitty. Anyhoo, she has adopted 2 rescue kitties that are sisters and are about 12 weeks old. So, I used that as inspiration for her present; 4 kitty food bowls, a special cat coffee mug and 2 cat themed picture frames for pics of her new babies. Now to get it all wrapped up and secured enough to stand up to the abuse the USPS is sure to put it through! har!!

I plan another shopping trip tomorrow or the next day, but DH will be with since we'll be shoe shopping for him, so you know how that goes...not tons of fun shopping with a man!! (Not a word outta you, Henry!)

Judy...I bet you'll do just fine in the midst of all that *temptation*. At the worse, a 2-3 pound gain maybe??... that you can drop in a day or 2 once you get home.
Don't be to hard on yourself.

Barb...I know exactly what you mean about not eating the *junky carbs*.
I've certainly been enjoying "berry season". Have fun tonight at the theatre!

Donna....well, hmmmm. Today's the day for the new computer install, eh???
I'm wondering if the fact you haven't visited today is a bad sign...meaning it didn't go well, or a good sign, meaning it did, and you are busy working your little heart out??!!?? Really hoping it all went well for ya!!

I second the motion....definitely missing Alida, Bren and the Pegster!!!

Off to feed the Kass...I'm getting that *cat stare* that means "I'm hungry....NOW!"

    (((hugs to all)))

I hate to shop. Internet ordering was made-to-order for me! I'm anticipating the arrival of a new pair of walking shoes from Zappo's. So far, I'm impressed with their communications--and also with free shipping (both ways).

The way I usually shop is noticing something someone else is wearing--and asking where they got it.

Beautiful beautiful day again in KC.

LOL...Don't get me wrong, Barb. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE shopping LLBean and LandsEnd via the internet. And believe me, there are times I loathe going to the mall(like anytime after October!), but during the week when the crowds are not bad, and as of late, due to the economy, I'm finding some really sweeeet deals! Yay!!! So I get the *thrill of the hunt*, and a good price as well!! Floats my boat!! hehe.

    Everyone, be well!

    wow...where's everyone at?
Hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing weekend and staying cool!

I got my windows washed, inside and out, yesterday(took 3 hours to get 'em done) and was blessed with back and leg spasms last night! When will I learn that going up and down a ladder is not particularly a good thing??

Yes, I hope everyone is having a relaxed weekend--including Judy, who's doing her bit for education.

I was out on the street this morning cheering for my nephew, who ran the Hospital Hill Half-Marathon--a real test.

Beautiful day all day. Nothing newsworthy but nice.

    Happy Sunday.

Happy Monday everyone. Talking to myself here, but that's okay. Now I can keep up with some of you on Facebook!

Today is a good day for new resolutions. M/W/F weight work for arms and shoulders. T/TH/Sat Yoga. I got out my little video player and set it up in my "library" so I can do my yoga videos. I am really tight. (And that has no connection to the amount of margarita I managed to consume at the condo party last night.) I need to regain some flexibility, as well as strength--and now is a good time to start.

Have a good week, y'all. Judy, time to take a vacation, don't you think?

Well, it seems like forever since I've been in here, but only a few days of heJJ at work. After getting 3...yes, THREE different computers, we finally have one that is working properly. If anyone ever tells me to try VISTA on my computer I will kick them where the sun don't shine! I know that a lot of people like it, but it isn't computer friendly if you are on a computer network. They don't tell you this when you buy the computer. So, it was 3 days of trying to get things up and running. The first guy that came out finally said he had done his job and if it wasn't working with the press' computer it wasn't his problem and he left! The next day (after listening to trucker language coming from me) my boss called another computer centre and told them to bring out another computer that had XP on it. That fellow knew what he was doing and had me up and running in a matter of hours. The new XP has a few things in different spots but I can live with that. And...if anyone tries to take my new flat screen monitor they will have a fight on their hands. I love it!! So, I ended up working on Saturday so I could get the invoices off for my boss. I'll take this Friday off seeing as we have another ball tournament out of town and we can leave early.

Dd came to see me yesterday. She's 8 days sober and looks like an 80 year old woman. The doctor did blood tests and her liver levels are terrible. She'll find out tomorrow what they can do if anything. I asked her if it was worth it and she said definitely not. We'll see. I can only hope she has learned her lesson and it's not too late.

We're in the middle of a heat wave and along with it have come the forest fires. A huge one about an hour away and they can't get a handle on it. Winds keep picking up and whisking it away from the firefighters. We sure could use a little rain.

This weekend was the muscular dystrophy bike run. They come from all over on their harleys and other types of motorcycles and have different spots to pick up a ticket until they have them all. I have no idea why they need them except that they call it a poker run. Anyway, the overnight stopover is always our little town. Picture 860 bikers riding up and down the street to go to the dance Saturday night. It sounded like a huge swarm of bees. I kind of liked it though. These are gentlemen bikers and cause absolutely no trouble and bring a lot of business to our little town.

Okay..I'm off again to try and ge caught up on my work. Just needed a little break with my friends.
