Ahh, but one of the benefits of yoga is that your mind is so engaged in trying to get your pose correct, which includes having your head "on your own mat", that you really don't spend much time considering what someone else is doing. If your butt is in the air, it's pretty likely that your head is somewhere that you can't see your own or anyone else's.

Peg, we were posting at the same time. Sorry you hae been sick. Between that and getting the move done, it's no wonder that you have lost 10 pounds. 10 pound gone is good, but the way it left isn't. BIG HUG!!

Oh Peg, thanks for ringing in! and I agree, sorry about being sick - yes, it is one way to get the weight loss going, but not a very good way, that's true!

We are heading out to the cabins tomrrow mid-day for a long weekend... it is d@mn hard getting Roger away from his Kabota (tractor) and all the yard and woods work - he moving rocks and getting things so ready that by the time the darn house is up there won't be any need for the landscaping - he'll have had it done for weeks by then! LOL!!!

I've been exercising these last two days by moving rocks, literally, throwing them into piles (small and medium (I can't life the large ones)...) and my arms feel like they are going to leave my body at any moment and I MUST remember to take some ibuprophen this evening before bed or I will wake tomorrow paralyzed from the spine out... whew.

Hope you all have a GOOD weekend! much love from me!

Great pics Donna!! I'm so happy for you that you've re-connected with your niece. It is a wonderful feeling to see someone you've not seen in years.
Thanks for sharing a bit of your special weekend with us!

Hmmmm, no one asked which one was me in the picture. It's either because you all know what I look like...or I look really old. I've decided it's because you all know me.

Tomorrow I take Micayla shopping for school clothes. I called ds and said I'm only taking them one at a time this year. All 3 at once is just too much. Besides, I think they like the one on one time. He asked if she would be spending the night with us. I told him I was pretty sure that Mic had that planned....she wants to scrapbook. I've created a monster! lol She is getting really good at it though. And, we do have fun.

It's still so hot here. The town that was evacuated has finally allowed the people to go home after 6 days. But, they are still on evacuation alert. Another fire has popped up in the Fraser Canyon. I don't think the worst is over yet.

Dd has now found a job. Thank goodness...I was spending more and more money helping her out and I just can't afford it. Plus, it wasn't teaching her a darned thing. We had an arguement on Monday and I haven't heard from her since. But, it was Tuesday that she found the job so she must have listened to me.

I'm off now for a nice cool bath. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Well, for all practical purposes, it was back to work for me today....... BLAH, 8 hours of a brutally boring inservice training. I hope it's not an indicator of what the year will be like.

Judy: You're summer sure did seem to go fast...probably faster for you than me though. Won't be long and you will be on Christmas break....EEEKKKK!

We have dark clouds rolling in now which I hope means we will be getting some rain. That's good cause it will match my mood. I haven't been feeling that good the last couple of days and a good rain would help. At least I could relax tonight and not have to move sprinklers all night. My stomach is very upset and acid reflux has reared it's ugly head today.

The scale is stuck! It has been for a couple of months. At least it isn't going up. I'd love to see it going down though. On the 24th I will be meeting up with my friend from Alberta again (remember the one that I've been writing to for about 7 years and I finally met last year?). I'm sure she's going to see a difference in me with the weight gain. I just can't get myself in the right mind set to do something about it.

Dd isn't talking to me now that she supposedly has a job. HA...what she doesn't know is that it's kind of nice not listening to her complaining. Wonder how long she's going to punish me for telling her to get off her lazy a$$ and get a job?

Donna, sorry you are in such a cloudy mood. Maybe the rain will clear up the smoke, clear up your mood and water the lawn.

Actually this is not an official week of work. I'm doing a couple of flex days so that I can have some extra holiday time later in the year. I'm leaving middle of the day tomorrow for a long weekend in Dallas, then, it really is back to work for real.

If I don't get back in for a few days, you all have a good week.

Hello everybody. Back from a great year at the BBQ. My sister got recognition for her side dish (Cheesy Potatoes), her Miscellaneous entry (Smokey Smackers--little sausages cooked up with apples, onions, and brown sugar--how can you go wrong??) and her Dessert (a bread pudding made with egg bread, caramel, chocolate, and rum--again, what's not to like??) Obviously we're not talking a low-carb event, except for all the pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and chicken.

I'm ready to go ON THE WAGON, carb-wise. I'll let you know how that goes.

Judy, my sister and teacher colleagues were gritting their teeth in preparation for three days of boring in-service days ahead of the start of school. They'd much rather be in their classrooms doing their own thing.

Gotta run. Glad to be back in my regular life, which I'll maintain for a little while anyway.

Hi All.... I am still hovering at 160.x (some days 160.3 some at 160.8)... we are heading off to the cabins this afternoon - MA has had some crappy weather this year (haven't we all, frankly) so getting a weekend that's predicted to be sunny - well, we'll head out later.

The framers have the first floor outside walls set up - VERY cool! Roger and I had a big BBQ yesterday afternoon for all the good people who have worked on the house (conrete, excavators, plumber, electrician, framers, etc... we had a ball and everyone showed (I love a small town!!)...

I have to drop this link to you all - it is astounding and beautiful - it is also in french - unless you click on the 2nd link down that says: (subtitled) - really, get something wonderful to drink sit back at your computer and watch this funny, beautiful film... the good news about Google videos is that you can click on the pause button if you miss a word... enjoy dear ones! la belle verte film - Google Videos

Again, when you open this link go to the 2nd one down, La Belle Verte (subtitled) unless you are a fluent French speaker.... This movie is one for the ages!! Love you all ! Rachel

Hello, Rachel, and everybody. Seems like I find "us" at Facebook more than here these days. I'm still not a very enthusiastic Facebooker, however.

Congrats to you, Shelley, for the mileage! Speed doesn't count. I missed my walks while I was in Colorado, but between my bum knee (the one I twisted while I was in Canada) and the altitude (huff...puff...huff...puff) I didn't push it. Now I'm back to my regular routine, and it feels good.

Okay, gals, you ready for my next adventure? I bought a kayak. Yup. While I was in Canada, I realized that I wanted some form of personal transportation on the water. I had done a little try-out in a kayak earlier this year, and decided I could manage it. So, I now own a low-price, one-person kayak, which I took out on Longview Lake yesterday. I took paddling lessons from online videos. Well, it's a start.

We might go to the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia next week. That would be a lot of silly fun--pig races, and more! I'll let you know.

Take care of you.

Hello, my dear friends

I've finally decided that what' going on with me is Fibromyalgia. I haven't had a flare like this for a long time, but I guess its not surprising considering the construction and the impending move.

We've been moving on this for months, literally months. Someone broke into the house sometime this week and stole the kitchen sink, the brand new microwave (still in the box), and the bathroom sinks. I believe it is an inside job, myself. I think the people here believe that too. Glad I don't have to be a part of investigating this. Meanwhile, things move along a little bit faster now. The folks here at the home (employees) have taken over and swarming over the whole place. We still don't have a move in date. But I don't think it is too far away.

Still moving down in the weight. Don't feel like eating. This time it is my legs. I just can't seem to stand for too long or to walk very far.

And, on the GOOD side. I have a interview tomorrow for a church. P/T and darling little church with a LOT of problems. I think it will be good for me to work. I need the money!!! Shoes!!!! Clothes!!!! Woohoo.

Congrats to you, Shelley, for the mileage!
me, either, Barb.

And, thanks! Considering I'm still *new* to running, I'm pretty proud of this morning's 2.03 miles!

Donna...my sweet little elderly uncle has retired from running! He didn't tell me that on the phone, but told me when I visited him back in June. He does walk 2.5 - 3 miles about 4 or 5 times a week. Nonetheless, he is still very much my inspiration to run.

DD is already bugging me to do a 5K fun run for her HS alumni assoc's fund raiser.
Uhhh...I don't think I'll be anywhere near ready for that by the middle of next month. sigh.
I'm a *mature* runner (another word for OLD and a 'late bloomer' runner), for cryin' out loud, so the endurance part isn't there yet. Someday though!

Peg...sooo good to get a little report from you! Wishing you a quick and painless move...once the process actually starts!

Big waves and smiles to the rest of the flock...wherever they are!

Today was the last day of summer........... Ok, not on your calendars, but it was on mine. What did I do? Worked. I did some planning that is best done with little to no interruptions. DFIL had back surgery today, so DH was out of the house the entire day. A day to myself was a nice way to end the summer. Did a little shopping and had a pedi while I was in Dallas last week. I guess I'm ready.
