Hi Gang!

So good to "hear" from you all!

Yes, Judy, you deserve not only a medal, but a loooooooooong healthy retirement. Try to sane from the little monsters. My dgd is one of those right now and I don't like her very well. My dd was laid off yesterday. More drama from the family who don't need any more. Remember that she was Director of Development at a prominent performing arts school in LA? Back to the sidewalks for her. I talked to her twice yesterday; once right afterwards, and then later in the evening. The second talk was better. She was beginning to take stock and decide what her next step will be. She has had bad break after bad break this Fall. I have had to step back a little. I just can't take the stress and be in pain all the time. In fact, I've stepped back from a whole lot of things. It's been good to be home.

Love ya'll,
Peg

Oh Peg, I hate that you are in pain so much. But, I am glad that you now have a house with no stairs. That makes being at home more manageable. I know you are upset about your daughter --- what mom wouldn't be. Maybe along the way she has developed some coping skills that will help her to find a new way. It's a rough time to be looking for a job.

I've just about managed to give out all the Halloween candy. But, now at 8:45 I'm calling it done. Little kids should be finished by now. At this point it's just kids that are too big, kids that are making trouble, or families trying to collect a year's worth or sugar rushes. Actually, there were only two houses on my whole block that even turned the lights on and gave out candy. What a bunch of killjoys.

Judy, I went to a neighborhood party that was great. It featured a "Chili Cook-off." I hope my friend "wins," but the stakes are low and the entries were all delicious. Lots of fun costumes, family participation, and neighborliness. I guess somebody was watching out for trick-or-treaters while I was hanging out in the kitchen "judging" the chili.

I'm at home now, and glad for the solitude. I did remember to turn back all my clocks. So I'll be wide awake at 3 a.m. instead of 4 a.m. Oh well. I'll make good use of it.

Nighty-nite everyone.
