| Yup, Judy. Go figure! He is 70 and retired a while back. His current job is his fourth since "retirement." He was a church pastor for 47 years. He has served two churches as interim pastor, and The American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts as an area minister, and now is serving as interim Executive Minister (in charge of the whole shebang in MA). It's much more administrative than he likes. But it is a nice thing for him to do. He's way too "pastoral" for it to be satisfying. I've been ordained for 20 years and have way too long a history to relate. But, yeah, I'm ready for retirement in SoCa.You know the girlfriend that I talk to on the phone every Friday morning? She lives in SoCa. I'm jazzed about being closer to her. But mostly about being closer to the gkids. Yesterday I "supplemented" I ate clean and drank gallons of water today. I feel a little better. | "little eating girl" Oh yeah, we all seem to have one of them. Lately I've managed to keep mine under control, but I live in fear that she will want to come out to play. So......., are there theological differences with ministers of two denominations in the house? Tomorrow I'm taking 1/2 a day off to go do a contract computer job with DH. We get 5+ leave days a year. I never take mine. I think I have almost 60 full days of carry over. If it was not a day where I have virtually no afternoon classes, I wouldn't be doing this. Taking off is often more trouble than being there. Stay the course, girls ( and not the round donut shaped one ) |

| My goodness this board is quiet these last few days. Of course, I haven't been posting very much either. Though I am lurking almost every day. I just don't have anything very interesting to say! Same old stuff.......nother day! One rather interesting thing for me was the stomach flu over Saturday night and through Sunday. Not every preacher can roll over in bed and ask find a substitute preacher. My darlin dh actually drove 40 mins to my church and did the 8:15 service for me! Others did the 10:00 service. I had already written my sermon! Darn! It was a nasty flu. I'm not usually sick over anything so I was caught off guard. We watched "The Magdalene Sisters" on Saturday night before going to bed and it was those images that played and replayed in my head as I got up over and over again! Pretty nasty! Yeah, Judy. We had interesting theological discussions when I was in seminary. But, we've learned to just enjoy disagreeing about some things. Really, there are few things we don't agree on. It's just taken me 20 years to change his mind!! I lost 5 lbs with the flu. Too bad it is fleeting. Today I've eaten fairly lightly and am drinking lots of water. Stomach is still a little queasy, though the fever is gone and so are the muscle aches. Confirmation this Sunday, and then another week and I go to New York and AZ. I'm excited. I'll see my brother in AZ. He has recently been dealing with Valley Fever. It's like pneumonia, but lasts and lasts. He's nearly over this bout. It stays in the system, I think. This weekend I get to be "Mrs. American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts" at my dh's convention. I don't do this often, but I owe him one. Peace, Peg 205/171/155 5'8" |

| You're right Peg, it is quiet. I'm struggling here. For the last two days, the scale has said 140. That's my fear factor number. I really thought it would be back down to 139 this morning, but not so. I'm sure that I have been allowing the calories to creep up. I haven't had any "bad" carbs, but I have probably allowed more tortillas and LC junk than I need. Today, I have upped the water, and kept a close record of all that I'm eating. Tomorrow, surely things will be better ---- other than that, right now, I'M HUNGRY! I fully believe that maintenance may be harder than losing. |

| Do we want to start a May thread, or blend into the other ongoing threads? If there are others that want to keep this line going, then I'll start it. If it has run its course, then we can let it gracefully end on May day. |

| I don't know what to say, Judy. I always find it great to know this board is here for me even if I don't have time to post. But others may not agree. As to my absence this month, we have been struggling with my Dad's illness. He had surgery scheduled and then cancelled because of what they saw in the tests they did. It's even more serious than they thought, so they have rescheduled surgery for next Tuesday so that they can have an extra surgeon in the room. Even with the stress around my Dad, I have tried to post a couple of times, but our computer keeps fritzing out. The pop-up messages keep overwhelming the screen and to get rid of them, I have to shut everything off. I did a really long post last Thursday and then lost the whole thing. I think I finally have the pop-ups under control. As for my weight, I have been holding at the same place, so not bad. The pop-ups are coming again, so I am going to press post before I lose this again.

| Law, I'm so sorry about your dad. I hope that the surgery goes well and that you get the best possible outcome. I may be able to help you regarding the computer and the pop ups. There are two free programs that you can download and install that will clean your machine of the tracking cookies that cause lots of the problems. One of the programs is called Adaware and you can get it at http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10...age&tag=button The other is called Spybot Search and Destroy. It is available here I update and run both on my computer several times a week. Note, one of the programs will tell you not to use on the same computer with the other one. Don't worry, I use both on several computers. After you get everything cleaned up, set Spybot to "immunize" your computer. It will keep lots of stuff from getting there in the first place. Send me a private message if you need more help. And here are the results for today -- I think it's the first time that I have tracked a whole day in weeks. Weight 140 Calories: 1496 Fat: 100 (61%) Carbs: 88-21 fiber = 67 net (18%) Protein: 78 (21%) Water And with your vote and mine in the affirmative, I'll continue the thread. I would miss our little group -- even though we don't always make it in everyday. |

| Make mine an affirmative vote too!! I would miss this thread terribly! It's been my connection to the Board in the most consistent way. Wednesday and I'm still feeling lingering feelings from the flu. Have had absolutely drenching night sweats the last three nights. So bad that I have to change the sheets and wash my nightgown! I "Googled" it last night and most of the options were pretty terrible. I chose "recovering from a fever," or "GERD." I have GERD, but have never had this trouble with it. I've had it for years. Today I feel just plain punk. Weak, a little queasy, and irritable enough that I cried most of the way to work. If you remember in my story, I spent several years getting progressively sicker with Fibromyalgia until about two years ago. At that time I got better almost over night. So many things in my world opened up to me that I have just exulted in getting healthier. My dh and I have commented more than once, "Just think, two years ago I couldn't have done this.....or that....." Inside myself I have thanked God each day almost for feeling good. I have realized that all these years, what I thought was low grade depression was really just not feeling good. I was fighting pain every minute of every day. It was tiring and energy sapping. I was terribly irritable during that time and I cringe when I think about it. These are some of the things that I have been feeling these past two days. I DON'T LIKE feeling sick. It brings back all these helpless feelings. I just about bit off dh's head this morning. I hate feeling like that again. I'm dizzy and tired and just darn scared of this feeling. Is there a flu out there that lasts more than 24 hours? My eating has been pretty clean. I lost 7 pounds with the flu. Saw 169.8 yesterday! I know it's false, though. Today I was back to 172. I'm drinking more water today. But, really don't feel much like eating. I did eat a good bkfst and a little for lunch. One more appt. then I'm going out to the mall to eat and shop until 7:30 meeting. Peace, Peg 1/1/03 205/172/155 5'8" |

Okay dokey, now that I am stepping back from medical and other unsolicited advice, I'll take a good look at today's counts. And....... just as I expected, the calories are pretty high. The good news for today was that I was down to 139.5. I feel like I did at Christmas --- easy to go up, and hard to go back down. Weight 139.5 Calories: 1935 Fat: 140 (65%) Carbs: 87-12 fiber =75 net (15%) Protein: 96 (20%) Water: MUCH better the last two day! |

| Thanks, Judy. I DID call the Dr. yesterday moring. She can't see me before a week from Tuesday. Someone else told me that her son had stomach flu that turned into a cough. So, I started treating that this morning. I slept well last night and no night sweats last night. Yay! I'm over hot flashes, Judy. At least the menopause kind. I have no estrogen left in this old bod! Yay! I DO, however, get hot flashes when I go into ketosis! Isn't that strange! I never register on the Ketostix, but I know it because I have hot flashes for a day. I'm just signing 19 Bibles, 19 confirmation certificates and then I'm outta here. I stayed home this morning to get ready to go out to the Western part of the state for this convention. We are really beautiful right now. Leaves are leafing out in the trees, tulips and daffodils are out. Flox is blooming and budding. Tulip trees are full and blooming. Just gorgeous. Dh got his boat out of storage this am and he is happy as a little clam. Weight remained the same this morning. I'm still not really hungry, but eating lc bkfst and lunch today. Drinking water to get back what I lost this week between flu and "sweating." Peace, Peg 1/1/03 205/172/155 5'8" |

| Peg, I'm glad you are feeling better. DS called this morning and said that he had an awful virus with high fever and chills last night. He slept in until 8:00 and said that he was feeling much better. He planed to drive to Waco to play golf later in the day (business). Just like a man, he has to be dying to skip golf. Your weather is a good 6 weeks behind ours. Our tulip trees usually come out at the end of February. We are already moving toward mosquito season. It has rained the last two mornings. You can almost set the calendar that it will storm in May and June, and the day the calendar turn to July, it will be all over. We will go most of July and August without any rain at all. As for the boat business... DH has already been out fishing 2 or 3 times. Have a good trip this weekend! I faithfully tracked again today. I think I was getting really lazy about it, and therein lies my problem. I will definitely start a May thread --- I need it. Weight 139.5 Calories: 1738 Fat: 110 (58%) Carbs: 83-33 fiber =50 net (12%) Protein: 131 (31%) Water: getting back on a good level |
