| Whoops, on the move to the new board, we lost the April tracking thread. Thanks Law for starting it for us. Below are the posts that we had already entered. From Law1 We track our food and report in on our progress. We help eachother find patterns in our eating and losing (or not losing!) and a whole lot more. Please join us! Law1 Judy -- the boards were down last night, so I assume neither of us could start this topic. Since I am off work today, I thought I would take care of it. Here's my good news for the day -- I am at 215! I finally broke through that barrier. Starting this topic made me think about the fact that we started this series last year in April. I started out at about 230 and got down to 211. As you all know, I stopped tracking and regained 18 pounds from last August to December. I am happy to be back at it, even though I have been replowing the same ground over and over. Now that I am getting closer to that low of 211 that I hit last July, I am committed to keep tracking and keep losing. I didn't have time to track yesterday, but I was able to track "mentally" because I have been doing this consistently and know what the food values are for my common foods. I was rewarded with a loss this morning. I have also started walking. I am not being really intensive, I am just trying to get two times during the day were I can walk for 15 to 30 minutes. I think that exercise will be the key to me being able to get past that 211 and keep moving down. How is everyone doing? Law1 From Judy Thanks for starting the thread. I've become pretty random about getting my tracking numbers in. I do religiously track the weight everyday though. I believe that it helps to "keep me honest"! Judy Law1 Wow. My tracking numbers today are really high. I made this great chicken breast with tomato/mayonnaise sauce. I ate it for both lunch and dinner. It was great and low in carbs, but high in calories. Now we will see if "shaking it up" with calories works. I sure got my protein in for the day! Here are my stats: Calories: 1638 Fat: 98 (58%) Carbs: 11 (2%) Fiber: 3 Net Carbs: 8 Protein: 154 (40%) Law1 Judy Low Carb Guru So Law........ What's the recipe? DH went fishing twice this week. It has been perfect weather for the last few days. We had fresh crappie Tuesday night, and will have some more tonight. I'm not sure what I'll make to go with it, but the fresh fish is great (even if I do bread it in cornmeal.) Hummm, something tell me I probably won't have a tracking report for tonight. Weight today--137.5 Judy end of pasted info.............. Let's keep it going! :silly: (I love the new smilies!) |

| Hey Gang! I'm here. Not tracking. Not watching too closely what I eat. Went to the Dr. last week and my blood pressure was 160/86! Worried me and my Dr. Also had some other health issues that are worrisome. She wants me to have my bladder hiked up this summer. Anyway, none of the issues are food related. I'll write more when I am coherent. Peace, Peg |

| Yikes Peg. Sounds unfortunately like what my bladder needs, too. Hope after next week is over perhaps you can take it a bit easier....

| Oh Yeah, that bladder thing.......... It was looking a lot like I was going to have to have that done until I lost the 40 pounds. It is some better now, but not sure how long that will last. Geez, isn't getting old grand.:crying: |

| Wow! I am gone for a few days and the board is new. I haven't quite gotten back to the tracking. But, I am paying attention to what I eat. And, I'm still sitting steady. Got my bloowork back. The cholesterol is down from last year to 184. My glucose was 76. And everything else looked as though they were in the normal ranges. So, that's good. I'll try to check in more often. But, I still have alot of work to do. We just started priority registration this week, and I have already met with three students. Not to mention the tests that I need to make up for this week and next. And the math contest. Only four weeks and the semester will be over. Then, I'll start again with summer school.

| Hey, Judy, thanks for the second time around! I went through withdrawal not being able to get on the boards. I looked last night, but our Veterans forum wasn't showing up. I'm glad to see it back. I have to tell everyone about a great breakthrough. Do you remember a number of months ago when I said that I was thinking of starting horseback riding again (since my daughter does)? Well, I DID IT! I went to the Tack Shop about a week ago and found some breeches that actually fit me (okay, they were X-Large, but I could get into them). I had some boots of my daughter's that fit me, so I was ready to go. I did a short ride last Friday and then another, much longer ride, on Sunday. Boy are my muscles sore! But I am so proud of myself. It was really fun and I actually haven't lost my skills. I was able to do some really fancy riding, so that was fun. I have been tracking. I have only lost .2 pounds in the last 4 days (sigh). But at least I am going down a bit. I am at 215.6. Here are my stats for the day: Calories: 1110 Fat: 68 (60%) Carbs: 40 (7%) Fiber: 22 Net Carbs: 18 Protein: 84 (33%)

| Thanks BC and Judy! I really, really enjoyed myself. I could get really addicted to this, which is good because it's very good exercise, too. I have other great news -- I FINALLY dropped down a pound to 214.6. Hooray! Only 3 more pounds to get back down to last summer's weight. I never thought it was going to come off. Yesterday morning I suddenly felt much slimmer. When I was the same weight, I was disappointed. I guess I should have known it would happen. I just had to wait until this morning. The great thing is that I am fitting into a whole bunch of clothes that I bought last spring but haven't been able to wear. Just in time for spring. I feel like I have a new wardrobe. I even fit into a pair of pants (and wore them all day today) that I could barely get zipped 2 weeks ago. It's amazing how a few pounds in one direction or another makes such a big difference. Here are my stats for today: Calories: 1168 Fat: 60 (51%) Carbs: 43 (6%) Fiber: 26 Net Carbs: 17 Protein: 115 (43%) Judy -- you will be happy that I ate lots and lots of veggies today.

| Hey, Law, I can really feel your joy. Congrats on the new Spring wardrobe!!! and by this time next year, may you be ready for a brand new one, LOL!!! Yes, I think horseback riding must be wonderful, especially on a regular basis. I live in an area where there are many trails, stables, arenas, etc., and even a few breeding farms. (Love to see the foals frollicking in the Spring) I can understand the joy in returning to a beloved sport and pastime, too.

| And I live in Texas --- no matter what some people think, we do not have horses everywhere. I'm sure I could find some in the area if I made it a point, but they are not grazing in the yard. :o I'm not a very good rider. My knees don't handle it too well. I do need to be grazing on the vegetation more. I'm not so sure that finding tortillas was a good thing. They are just too easy to use to roll up with some meat and make into a sandwich. In fact, I had a wrap for lunch and for dinner. I am eating way too many of those, high fiber crackers, flax/nut granola, and other LC subs. I need to get back to the veggies. I'm really burned out on broccoli and cauliflower. |

| Hi folks. Thanks for the encouragement BC and Judy. I am still feeling pretty great from the horseback riding. I am looking forward to my next ride. I got down to 214, then bounced back up to 215 the next day. I decided not to panic or to be held hostage to my scale, so I just relaxed and kept with my program. Sure enough, this morning I was back down to 214. Tonight I weigh exactly 215.0. Since I usually lose overnight, I am really hoping to see that magical 213, even if it's 213.8 tomorrow morning. I trust that I will then bounce around again. I have been getting more veggies, Judy, and keeping up with my walking. I had two people compliment me today on how nice I looked and ask me if I was losing weight. It felt great. Usually I have to lose 20 pounds before anyone notices. It's great to have them notice at 15 pounds lost. I am still aiming at that 211 from last summer! Here are my stats for today (I was really busy and didn't have much time to eat): Calories: 984 Fat: 82 (75%) Carbs: 13 (3%) Fiber: 5 Net Carbs: 8 Protein: 53 (22%)

| Oh Law, I was the queen of the bounce. Don't let it get you down. Heck, I still bounce. My lowest has been 136.5. ( I've only seen that a couple of times.) Generally I fluctuate between 137 and 138. I did hit 139 one day this week. Today is 138, after being 137 a couple of days ago. I think it is normal for there to be some variations. |
