Good morning everyone!

Yesterday was a pretty lazy day. I spent most of my time on-line. I was looking at hotels in New Orleans. I did book a B & B near the French Quarter. It didn't have any bad reviews by people that had stayed there. And, it had free parking. I guess most of the hotels charge around $20 a night (or more) to park there. We have never stayed at a B & B before, so it should be interesting.... We will be there two nights. We also want to drive to the town we lived in for 14 months when we were newlyweds. It is around 4 1/2 bhours from New Orleans. I also booked a room at a hotel for the drive down to Florida. The only one I haven't figured out is where to stay on the way back from Louisiana. I'm thinking around Shreveport or Boosier City, but I'm not sure.

Yesterday was my DH's B-day. In the evening, we went to my DD's for dinner. I could have done no carbs, but chose to do a CALP reward meal with potatoes and b-day cake for my carbs. My intention for today is to go back to a mostly non-carb day. I noticed being less hungry yesterday, before we had dinner.

We are rainy this morning. We will go grocery shopping. No other specific plans.

Wishing you a happy day!

Ilse,
Shreveport/Bossier is about an hour from where I live. They are essentially one big city divided by a river. The cities are loaded up with hotels. There are 5 casinos and a horse track in the Shreveport/Bossier area. The hotel at the Horseshoe is really nice. We have also stayed at Boomtown and Hollywood. Again, they were nice, but we prefer the Horseshoe. If you want to stay away from the casinos, there are lots of selections. The best ones are probably located on I-20.

Oh, and I almost forgot........... The restaurants in the casino hotels above are really good. All have great buffets. In the Horseshoe, Jack Binon's Steakhouse is wonderful. There is also a Chinese food restaurant at the Horseshoe that is outstanding.

Let me know if you have any more questions about that area. I may be able to help you out.
