| Hey everyone! Good to hear from you all. Law, I thought I remembered the reasoning on the thread being here. Makes sense. Well, I need to run along, darn it....looks like DH needs help with a project--and I seem to be classified as "Official Number 1 Tool Holder and general Go-fer." More later, I hope.....

| Peg, I just read your saga on the other threads. I'm so sorry! Three or four years ago, the hose on our washer broke. Around 3:00AM DH woke up and heard it spraying. We worked for hours getting the water out while we waited until a "decent" time to call someone to come help. Our kitchen, dining area, and part of the den were flooded. We actully ripped out the dining area carpet and padding ourselves and had the carpet up on saw horses draining before the guys got there. I really didn't want to have to replace that piece since it was smack in the middle of everything and a different piece would have been awful. The carpet guys took it to their warehouse, dried and cleaned it. New padding was put down everwhere that got wet, and the old carpet was put back in. It only cost $250 and saved me having to claim on our insurance. All this is to say that maybe your Navaho rug can be saved if the carpet guy was sharp enough to do something immediately. I'm so sorry about the other things. You are right --- moving sounds like an option. |
