| I've never actually reached my original "goal" weight. My body arrived at its customary set point (about ten lbs higher than I want) and there it stays. Still, having maintained the same weight for almost a year, I think I've accomplished quite a lot in learning the low-carb lifestyle. I followed Atkins in the beginning. However, I never felt that counting carbs and finding some critical "tipping point" worked very well. These days, when I check ketostix, I tend to go in and out of ketosis, so I believe I'm at or below the CCL for maintenance without keeping track of carbs. How do I do that? Exclude sugar. Exclude anything made with white flour. Exclude potatoes and most high glycemic vegetables. Yes, I know it's hard to live without whole categories of food, but that's the "sacrifice" I choose over trying to continually adjust carb counts day by day. You'll find your own way! Best wishes! |

| [QUOTE=bkloots]Congratulations! What a great feeling. You've worked hard to achieve this goal, and you deserve to reward yourself in a special way. (Probably not with a chocolate fudge sundae!) Ah rats! But I LOVE chocolate! Thanks! I guess we'll have to do some experimenting and see what we can still eat. |
