Good morning everyone!

I hope you are well and happy. We are starting the first day of finals for the students. The seniors finished their finals and those who are graduating are having their ceremony tomorrow. (at least the weather report is decent for then). We had a short day of work. I waited for the city inspector for our hot water heater. He came in, glanced at it, and said he would close out the permit. I went swimming and to Wal-Mart. Just as I got home, a technician from SBC came to check out our new DSL conncection. Now, my DH just has to install it and we are ready to go!

I won't talk about eating yesterday, it wasn't pretty. I wish I had a close-by buddy I could call when I feel weaknesses! My DD will listen, but she has her own concerns with having a baby in a couple of weeks, so she's not ready to try to lose weight.

I'm going to try to do CALP for now. I am tired of being hungry a lot with small, frequent portions a day. I know once I am on track with CALP, I can eat more and less frequently. (losing control when hungry has been a weak spot of mine recently)

Well, I wish you a happy LC day.

Ilse,
I do not like being hungry. I believe that one of main reasons LC works for me is that I am not hungry, or can eat enough to keep the monster at bay.

isle, funny you say that. i have a very dear friend who recently lost over 100lbs (and she's barely 5'0)! she was very heavy and very unhealthy.
but once she made the decision to lose the weight, she joined "eaters anonymous" - or something of the like (it was like AA for overeaters). they are very strict there....
basically a LC plan, etc.
but part of their plan is that you have a designated "sponsor" ... you MUST call that person the instant you feel like you might overeat or cheat, etc.
seems like a good idea to me ....
sorry to ramble on!

The group is probably "overeaters anonymous". I haven't checked to see where they are in the Chicago area. I am struggling again today, but haven't given in to anything yet. The teacher I work with the first two periods had brownies that looked like they have peanut butter swirled with the chocolate. I went home for my early lunch break and scrambled some eggs and had a tomato with it. The teacher I was with 4th period brought Dunkin Donuts and rice krispie bars. I have not have any, but I work with her for two more periods. Also, one of the department divisionals offered me a fresh bagel, which I took and have in a plastic bag. I have food with me, tuna and hard-boiled egg to mix with a sweet (Stevia) and sour (ACV) flavored cabbage slaw. I am trying really hard not to give in to temptation, but I AM tempted. I have been writing various motivational ideas from our student planners, past and present, hoping to stay strong. I will say, I am hungry again, but will wait to eat the food I brought for a few more minutes.

Thumbs up Re: Friday, May 28, 2004

Ilse, hang in there. You CAN do this today, and you ARE worth it. Those goodies are just tasty poison. Be strong, girl!
