Thread: Thursday June 10th

I have been MIA for a while. Summer is in full swing at my house. WE are in swimming lessons, T - ball and everything else you can think of.

I wanted to stop by and say that for those that knew about my Grandma, her prayers were answered yesterday. She is at home with JESUS and her husband (who died 20 years ago) and her son (that died 2 years ago). This is truly a blessing as the last 6 months have been horrible for her. She was 91, it was time to go HOME!

Deb, enjoy those Grandbabies. There is a special bond between and a Grandma and their grandchildren. Mine was my best friend.

This is most likely NOT be a low carb weekend.

Good morning everyone!

I was mildly frustrated yesterday. I went to swim in the health club's outdoor pool. However, they were adding chemicals to it, so I had to swim inside. Today is a chilly, rainy day, so if I go swimming, again it will be inside. I went to several stores. I ended up eating too many carbs and craving more today. I also made a necklace and earrings with opal quartz, swarovski crystals, and pearls.

I wish you all a happy day. No car tomorrow. I need to do some errands today.

Hope you got your errands done Ilse. I had to run some today myself ,,, hair cut, hardware store, gas satation to vacuum out my car, oil change place, and the grocery store, doing laundry now.

Monica, my condolances to you as you heal and get on after your grandmas passing. I'm sure it is a bittersweet time for you right now. When my mom passed a few years ago, it was sad of course but I felt so relieved for her. She was sick for a long time too, and she missed my dad so much, who passed 13 years before. I know they are both together now and she's laughing at all his stupid jokes for the thousandth time.

I'm going away for the weekend to Northern Wisconsin to a quiet lake and a cabin with a DF and our dog. Plan to really relax and forget about things for a couiple of days. Eating right will be a huge challenge!

Monica, my sympathys! I know how that goes with it being time to go and a blessing but it's still sad for those here. big big hugs!

My dh hit a deer today. Thankfully he is fine. His work car is a clunker so we just need to replace the windshield.
I turned down my sweet Moms homemade cookie! She is so sweet but misguided! I can't seem to get her to understand diabetes=no cookies! I love her to much to say much!

Mick, the place is called Zastrow's Lynx Lake Lodge. Zastrowslynxlakelodge.com It's near Boulder Junction. It's far enough North that if I get lucky I'll hear a loon or two. For me it will be worth the trip even if it rains alot which seems to happen a lot on my Wisconsin vacations, if I can hear some loons. For this suburban kid it's a real thrill. That haunting call somehow strikes a chord deep inside. Hope to get out on a boat and maybe fish a little.
