Well, why don't I start a weekly thread here and we'll just see how it goes, Ok? If you're curious, we've had a little discussion about replacing the daily thread with a weekly one, given the volume of posts, but since not too many have had the opportunity to chime in yet, let's just give it a shot!

I didn't know what to call the thread, but I've always felt this forum was an inviting place to take off my shoes, pull up a chair, and share a few stories around the campfire with others on the same trail. Anyone with a better name, go for it, and be the first to post next Saturday!!!

A little update on me, since my appearance has been spottier than I would like in the last few weeks. My mind has rather been preoccupied, not that it takes much to preoccupy it. First we are in the final stages of ordering a ton (literally) of hardwood flooring which we'll install ourselves. I'm looking forward to the result but dreading the process. Second, I'm researching and seriously considering getting a business license (and all that that entails) so that I can officially sell my creations. I feel the same way about this as I do the flooring! Third, I've just spent an exhausting but exhilerating day at a rather famous (I understand) clinic having tests done, exhaustive medical history, the works. The upshot is that I most likely have at least one and possibly two (or more) genetic metabolic errors of metabolism, along with some miscellaneous issues like exhausted adrenals and low thyroid, and the ever popular out-of-whack hormones It will take about six weeks for all the tests to come back from the various labs, and some kind of protocol to be established. This is all actually good news, because when you've known that "something" is off all your life, it's a relief to finally have it confirmed, no matter how late--plus I've been assured most of the possible issues are treatable, though not curable. I won't be any more specific than that for now, since I don't have the diagnoses "officially." One of those "stay tuned" things

Wow, absolutely enough about me.....what's going on in your world!!!!

Wow! it does sound like you've got a lot on your plate, but you'll feel so good once the floors are done.

What things do you create that you want to sell?

Hopefully, your endocrinologists will come up with a good treatment plan for your condition(s). I can imagine what a relief it is to finally have the hope of getting that more under control.

Teel, thanks for the encouragement on all fronts.

I make jewelry. I'm not looking to make a bundle (I'd really like to just pay my expenses, LOL), but I've been asked to sell pieces so many times I'm considering becoming legally enabled to do so if I want. Having been a happily salaried person all my life, becoming an entrepraneur, even on the most basic level, is daunting. I'm really not sure I want to deal with the paperwork end.

Hey, I don't want to hog the conversation.........

I agree BC -- you must have been on overload when you typed in the date. Exactly what was smoking at your campfire?

It looks like I'm not the only one that has a "little" job on the side. From the other thread this morning....

check out this page http://www.talltimbershome.com/ . I built it yesterday for a friend. I think I'm going to try to drum up some more pages like this to make a little extra spending cash.

"This five year old country dream home has 2680 sq. ft. of living area. It is located in a cul-de-sac on five beautiful acres... "

Where the heck is that where you can buy land and a big house for under $250K? Makes me wanna weep.

LOL! I just now got it about the date. Nah, not on overload; just not watching and letting my fingers do the walking. I'll see if I can copy/paste this puppy to a new thread, but it's getting late, and no telling what kind of date I'll put on it....

Judy!!! nice work!

Rats, this puppy is already too long to copy easily. How 'bout I close this thread and open up a new one.......
