Thumbs up Dreamfields pasta??!!??

I have been low-carbing for 2 1/2 years and never had any desire to try the LC pastas...too many negative reviews! But I checked this one out, mainly for my dh. It was FABULOUS!! Would never even know it was LC...or is it?? The box says "5 grams digestible carbs/serving"...I almost don't believe it after reading the ingredients.

Check out this link and the FAQ's and let me know what you think:

Thanks!

Lori

Somewhere there's a thread discussing this pasta and BC listed the following link with some very good information on this product.

Personally, it makes me bloat just like normal pasta whereas Anthony's brand DID NOT.

Anthony's doesn't have quite the same texture but it's still good. It comes in at 19g a serving. About half of a normal pasta.

Myself, I don't buy the Dreamfield story. It just doesn't make sense. They REALLY need to explain themselves if we're supposed to buy the theory. How many times have low carbers been used and abused in regards to products and their ACTUAL carb content? Too many.

Until they explain and I believe, I'm not buying it.

Thanks all for your replies...I figured someone had brought this up before!
I seem to be one of the luckies too gilley!
Thanks for that link Rob...very interesting.
Marcie...I bought Mueller's lower carb pasta too and it is still in the cabinet...it too is 19 ECC...more that I can really justify at a meal...and when I compared the two in the store, I just stood there reading the labels, trying to understand the difference!! I had no trouble eating it or afterwards, and I was definitely in ketosis the next day (I did not check that evening).

Honestly, I hope they are onto something!! But the scientific side of me needs more info.

Great discussion guys! Thanks!

Well, so far DH and I have been ok with the Dreamfields, but we stick with a small serving size.

My blood glucose levels understand this product no better than they understand that sugar alcohols have a "negligible impact on blood sugar."

A 7gm portion of any other food I eat (including lc fruit) causes barely a ripple in my BGL's.

For me this is "Pipedream Pasta"
