You two crack me up

I have a gallon of EPCO in my pantry, as well as a few quarts of VCO. I don't use the VCO as much as I do the EPCO. I have a little container that I fill up as needed too

Me too, Sharron, DH isn't fond of coconut flavor so I used up what VCO I had and probably won't repurchase it.

I DO, however, have him convinced to start making his morning scrambled eggs with EPCO! :jumpgreen

I got the "Free Book" with the purchase of 5 gallons and it's pretty interesting reading - the guy who wrote it (sorry, too lazy to get up and go get his name!) is a naturopathic doctor and a nutritionist, and NOT (he says) involved in the coconut oil industry. Some of it is pretty repetitive (yawn!) but there is some good info in it about how GOOD coconut oil is and how BAD the partially-hydrogenated stuff and margarine and even canola oil is!

You just keep wanting to get healthier and healthier once you get on the Atkins bandwagon! At least I do!

Isn't that the truth?

I cringe to think of the HORRIBLE THINGS I used to eat on a daily basis. Now sure, I still eat a bad thing now and then but let me tell you, it is WAY, WAY, WAY less often!

I am so much healthier now. I can't wait until my weight issue is finally brought to a close.

Yep, me too, Marcie - margarine (because it was GOOD for us!) and sugar and white flour and white rice and.... I could go on but you know what I mean.

And the thing of it is - I don't MISS any of that stuff AT ALL!!

I just love eating this way....

I just bought two 16oz. (ish) jars of organic expressed coconut oil at a liquidator store here. They were $2 each. I thought that was a pretty good deal! I do feel a lot healthier and more educated in my choices now. So glad I can help DS benefit from what I've lived and learned!

Sharron, I just wanted to thank you! A couple of months ago you mentioned the Weston Price website in some thread, and it has been the biggest eye-opener! It's infuriating in a lot of ways when you think about what is available to us and what has been promoted as healthy. What a bunch of rubish! It also makes me mad to think that the actual healthy stuff is pretty expensive, so lower-income people (like me!!) may not have that option a lot of times.

Mada, that site made me want to go live on a farm, too! I'm actually trying to figure out how to buy and keep a couple of goats. We live in town, but in a rural area and have friends with acreage. It's a possibility at least. I would prefer cow's milk, but goats are supposedly much cheaper and easier. Still checking into it.

Boy, I understand, but you'll be amazed at what you can find if you start poking around.

I've found a farmer (who delivers!) fresh organic eggs to me weekly for only a little bit more than the "nasty" grocery store eggs (kids call 'em that now!)

I've also found a farmer who I go pick milk up at his place weekly. It is a bit more expensive, but it is soooooo worth it! I just allot a bit more of my grocery money for it -- like a bill rather than just food allotment if you know what I mean.

Just start asking around, you might find someone! It took about 6 or 8 months for me... but it was worth the wait!
