Red face Flax Meal

There are a couple of muffin recipes I'm thinking of trying because I really miss my morning muffin. I should probably know the answer to this, but I don't, so I'm looking to all you wonderful people for help. Where does one purchase flax meal and how is it sold? Thanks!

I get flaxseed meal at Kroger in the health food section of the store. I'm sure most health food stores would have it.

I've read where a lot of people say you should grind your own flaxseed meal, but call me lazy I'd rather just buy it ground and store it in the freezer.

Many grocery stores now carry it in the Bob's Red Mills brand.

Me, I buy the whole seed at Whole Foods market and grind it myself - it's much more economical and I can smell the seed first to be sure it's good and fresh.

And ditto the storage in the freezer once it's ground up - which BTW can be a done a small amount at a time in one of those cheapie little coffee grinders, or in a food processor or blender.

HTH!

I buy it in bulk from Whole Foods and freeze. Get the Golden rather than the regular, if you have a choice. I make muffins every two weeks and freeze them. They are great nuked for breakfast.
