Even though the picture is pretty broken up by pixelation, I can tell this is a truly fantastic cake. I'm sure it will be a huge hit.

I'm sorry you lost your cake, Gilley, after so much hard work and expense. :(

Oh, rats! that's the pits! I'm so sorry.

But, Gilley, the hard part was the learning curve, right? Now that you've done all the research and figured out how to do it, it won't be this hard next time.

FWIW, I bet that cake recipe could morph into a pretty impressive Xmas wreath, if you change the frosting colors.

Man Gilley - That had to hurt. Reminds me of the time I made a huge pan of lasagna for a new years eve gathering and after baking it and serving a couple of pieces I put it back in the turned off oven to keep warm. Only when I turned the oven dial I turned it to 500 instead of off. It wasn't my oven and the dial was opposite mine. Needless to say it was charcoal an hour later when the rest of the guests arrived.

Wow, you bounce back fast! I don't see why you couldn't use the pumpkin flavor in an Xmas cake - people wikk just think it's a spice cake type of thing. Maybe use less nutmeg and more cinnamon... throw in a few dried cranberries for raisins. You know, you are very imaginative with foods. :cook:

So sorry to hear your cake bit the dust! At least you took a taste first so you know it was yummy! Do try again with green and red. We eat pumpkin bread here all through Christmas. (I usually make some to give away for presents.) Go for it Gilley!
