Thumbs up Real pancakes

I had printed the receipe, from the database, called Real Pancakes and tried it this morning. Oh my goodness! These are fantastic. I have been using the Carbsense mix and while it wasn't too bad, it also wasn't too good. But these puppies are unbelievable and taste like the real thing. I am so happy I finally broke down and bought vital wheat gluten. Thanks for this wonderful receipe.

The recipe is here.

If you go to the top of this page and click on "recipes" you'll come to a page where you can browse through the recipes by sections, or enter a search term and find a recipe that has the term in it's title or as one of the ingredients. We've got a pretty good collection.

Jessica - I get mine from the health food store but I've seen it in whole foods. It's just the gluten extracted from wheat, I believe.

Jessica: I picked up my vital wheat gluten at Clark's Nutrition. But you can also order it online at www.netrition.com. This is the same place where I ordered my Davinci's sugar free syrups.

Ditto for LouG. I bought mine at the grocery store. It was in the flour section, but I have also seen it in the "health food" section of the store.

Kim,
I have some unused Carb sense pancake mix and while I find it ok, after doing this receipe I am getting ready to throw it away. I don't think you can sub the mix in this receipe. The Carb Sense version is very very very thick and no amount of water will thin them. The version with wheat glutten is very thin but also tastes better, more like real (LOL) pancakes. Wheat glutten was pretty reasonable ($2.69) per bag and I am storing it in the freezer.
Maybe someone can tell me if I can add it to almond flour to make cookies?
