Default "Fancied-Up" Green Beans

OK, so I was looking for something to go with my chicken legs for lunch today and ran across these things in my house: a can of green beans, an open can of French's fried onions, grated cheese, and I thought, hmmmm...

1 can green beans, drained and put on a plate
about 1/4 - 1/2 c. French's fried onions
about 3 oz. shredded cheese (I used colby/jack, but whatever)

Nuke until hot and melted.

They were yummy! And different from plain ol' green beans, but not as messy as a casserole. I know the carbs are a little high for the onions, but if you can spare 'em once in a while, these were good. Or I suppose you could fry up some of your own onions... but that takes the quick-and-easy out of the recipe.

Just wanted to share.

I don't think those french fried onion rings are too high carb...
I use them and make stove top green bean cassarole...
green beans, can of mushrooms, some of the onions,
cook then drain out most of the water, and add some cream, and a little more
onions... mmmm, better than the casserole...

If I remember right, they were 2 - 3 g carbs per 2T. So, not for induction, and not for too often, but still SOOOO Yummy!

Great idea!

We nuke alot of veggies and they come out fine. Very fast and tasty. For broccoli, I just stuff a tall cup with florets, spread some butter over the top and nuke for 2-3 minutes until tender crisp. Salt and pepper and you're done. Using a tall cup with a small opening kind of makes for a "steamer" in the microwave. Works like a charm.
