Lightbulb DaVinci Gourmet Sugar Free syrups

I got an e-mail from another L/C company/magazine/newsletter/store, so I went there to check out their newly updated site. Clicked on a link for buying DaVinci's syrups.......MAN!!!!! I had NO CLUE how many flavors they have! I'd go broke if I bought all the flavors I want!

Barb and others have talked about using these syrups in green tea for a change in flavor....and I looked (in stores) for some Eggnog flavor at Christmas, but didn't find any.

There are 50 flavors! Like: Amaretto, Butterscotch, English Toffee, Peach, Root Beer, Toasted Marshmallow, Cookie Dough, Danish Pasty, Kahlua, Macadamia Nut, Pancake, and one that is flavor free, just sweet.

Freak me out! I figured they had 10-12 flavors......this is awesome! Didn't someone say last summer that they made snow cones with these? There is a picture of S/F Fruit Punch syrup on the site, but it's not listed in the ordering column. Either that or the peach or strawberry on some shaved ice would be a marvelous thing.....

I'm a little uncomfortable giving the link to that site here, so if someone wants it, PM me. I think their prices are pretty reasonable, too.

I like the Davinci's syrups a lot. But I don't like the cost. I got mine at Netrition, which has a reasonable shipping fee if you order several--so I did.

Today, I visited a Cost Plus World Market in another city because I heard they had S/F Toriani syrups at a reasonable cost. ($5.99) I bought hazelnut, peach, coconut, english toffee, irish cream and watermelon. I also bought a package of sugar-free chocolate macadamia nuts (3g carbs per 6 pieces) that taste great (I ate 4 pieces), and a bar of 85 percent dark chocolate that will be off-limits until I'm cheat-free for at least 100 days.

I've been using them for years.

Originally I bought right from DaVinci; they have their own website. Then, for a while, I bought from netrition, since their flat fee shipping price was a bargain when you're ordering bottles of stuff. I've notice, however, that the selection at netrition seems to be shrinking. I don't know if that's a temporary thing, or whether they're backing out of selling DaVinci.

I use them in everything, cooking, baking, etc. and really enjoy the variety and, yes, they make great snow cones.

I bought a bunch of DV syrups last year, but am just starting to use them. OH, the Praline flavor in coffee is just wonderful

I have at least 35 of those 50 flavors! Maybe more! LOL.

They all live on my wet bar and each one has its own pump dispenser top.

There are LOTS of good recipes right on the Davincigourmet site too, in case you need to figure out additional ways to use them!

The root beer and grape syrups also make seriously good sno-cones.

Melissa -

I also buy the Torani because I have a Cost Plus near my house. They're very good and I like the price! Sometimes, you can even catch them on sale at $3.99 a bottle. I always stock up on the French Vanilla when they do that.

Marci, I think I was at the Cost Plus by your place. I was working in Elsinore Saturday and came back by way of the 15 specifically so I could stop at Cost Plus for the syrups and 85 % chocolate bar.

I bought 8 bottles of syrup because I knew it would be awhile before I made it back. We don't get Cost Plus flyers in MoVal. Or if we do, I just never paid attention. I'll need to watch for those ads. At a savings of $2 a bottle, I'd make a special trip.

I've only tried the Torani coconut flavor and it is terrific. I discovered a Cash and Carry store near me in San Jose that has dozens of flavors of Da Vinci syrups, both regular and SF, for $3.45. They don't accept checks or credit cards (hence, the name). But, these days I use the SF syrups much less often since I discovered the liquid splenda at locarber and sweetzfree.

I got a little Hawaii ice shaver last summer; but I find the SF syrups are a bit "thin" tasting in snow cones (even Da Vinci and Torani). I wonder if the flavor would intensify if you boiled them down? I'll have to experiment with that some time.

I guess I am the last one aboard the DaVinci train! I found 1 flavor at Kroger (s/f Vanilla) and was excited to find that. Now that I'm living on green tea I was taking cues from Barb and the rest of the gang on the GT challenge. Now, I need to narrow down my list of "wants".

Who knew lowcarbing could be so flavorful?

See ya'll later! I'm on my way to California....to visit "Char's Bar"!

I agree with Teelbee on the Cash and Carry. We have these in WA and they are hands down the cheapest place to buy SF syrups. Many different manufacturers and many different flavors. I don't mind spending $3.29 for a bottle of syrup that I don't use every day, but $5.99 strains the budget.
I LOVE the SF Raspberry in an Italian Soda with cream and club soda. Died and gone to heaven. LOL

I have many Davinci SF syrups and use them lots of ways. My kitchen counter looks like a bar!

I highly recommend getting the pumps for the bottles. I've had some of mine for 2 years and they keep really well.

You might try a "candy store." There is one here that sells a lot of SF candy as well as the poisonous stuff. I stopped in the other day becuase very occasionally I enjoy a sf hard candy to suck on. She had both DV and Torani sf syrups - the large bottles for $5.69 and will get may any flavor I want. I was thrilled as I paid $7.95 plus shipping on-line and DH is a sf syrup "user."

Tried DVs butter rum - she had it in - its wonderful!
