Has anyone purchased George's book? I received mine in the mail today. It looks good.

I got it last week. Haven't had time to try anything, but it all looks good, and it has ingredients I have actually heard of and may have.
Looking forward to having some time at home to play with it.
I did make the pecan pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving (it was from the show) and it was very, very good. Although I threw away the last half of it. Found myself getting into it too often.

I absolutely LOVE George! I have a hard time remembering to watch his show :Lowcarb and Lovin' It" on Sundays!
You're right, Mary Kay....he does seem to always use basic not-too-strange ingredients. I get really aggravated when I read an ingredient list for a recipe and it needs saffron, or shitake mushrooms....stuff I don't keep real handy!
Did you order your cookbooks through the Food Network?

It's so good to be home!
on FN, it was like 15$, Amazon was less than $10. So I got it and my new WATP dvds with free shipping. good deal!

I may pick that up, too. I've caught the show a couple of times and I LOVE this guy. He really gets it with the veggies and a lot of his stuff has a kind of Italian cooking slant that's comfortable and familiar to me. .... said by someone who grew up thinking that chicken soup was supposed to have little meatballs and escarole floating in it.![]()

His family has done awesome on the plan. THey have lived it for several years and truly understand it. And understand you need variety and creative ways to cook. He fully feels you shouldn't deprive yourself at all, just find a better way to make it.
Very big with splenda.
I enjoy the show, and the cookbook is great. I don't like to cook at all, but I like his recipes. Simple, good tasting - I can deal with that!

i record his show every week on my tivo-- i love watching him!
you can get some of his recipes from the food network website; his ricotta cheesecake recipe is one of my absolute favorites!

I just read the first 6 pages of his book on Amazon. Amazing recovery, the back cover said the family lost 560 pounds. I will definatly give the book a better read next trip to Barnes and Knoble. Thanks for pointing it out to me.
MaryKay, the key word you used was SIMPLE! I got a lc crock pot cookbook for Xmas, and it seems like every recipe has a gazillion ingredients. *sigh* So I just may have to add this one. I should also check out the TV show. Will need to put a BIG sticky note on the TV!

Me too, if there are many ingredients that I doubt I can skip I won't try it for who knows how long. I need the fast stuff. I will attempt only one complicated recipe every month or so. Limited budget.

i haven't bought the book yet, because i'm trying to watch my pennies. i thought i'd link some of his recipes for those of us who may also be waiting to buy the book. i highly recommend the cheesecake. as i've already mentioned, it is the best lc cheesecake i've ever made (and it's relatively easy to make). anyway, here are the links-- enjoy!
some of his recipes can be found here:

jessicat,
The cheesecake looks great. Have you ever tried freezing it? I'm afraid I wouldn't (or shouldn't) eat the whole thing before it went bad.
Thanks!
ATLynn
JessiCat you are awsome! Thanks for the link to some more of his recipies.
I too am curious about freezing the Cheese cake.
Freezing... hmmm.... they freeze commercial cheesecakes (SaraLee, etc.). Gosh, I would think it would be okay - double wrapped against freezer burn. But, I've never tried freezing a homemade cheese cake.
