| Spread LC tortilla with cream cheese, sprinke with sweetener of choice and cinnamon. Top with finely chopped pecans. Roll tortilla as tightly as possible and slice into jelly roll type bites. EASY!! .......and that's my idea of the way prepare anything for an early morning meeting. |

| That is one thing I used to love with the totillas - little cinnamon rolls. Haven't had that for awhile, but don't like much else with the tortillas so don't have them around anymore. I really need to get back to basics - can't remember the last time I had a mock danish either, and I used to love them.

| I make little tortilla *jellyroll bites* too, except I use cream cheese and natural peanutbutter with a drop or 2 of sweetzfree and a splash of vanilla.....yummy. Aren't those tortillas just the most versatile food item you've ever seen? I took the pnb ones to work for a party at Christmas time, and they were *scarfed* just as fast as the high carb things...LOL....go figure Shelley

| Mary Kay, If you have the Mission Brand tortillas available, use them. They are by far the best --- and cheaper, too. They are an absolute staple at my house. |

| Yes, the tortillas are amazing. I also make little "bites" using cream cheese and sf jam. Delish. MaryKay, the Mission ones really are the best. The texture is so much closer to real tortillas than anything else on the market. I have to watch it though. They are a trigger food for me. When I eat the LC tortillas I have to really limit myself or I'll eat an entire package (heated up with butter on them!) in 2-3 days. They make FANTASTIC enchiladas too.

Using the roll-ups as a potluck dish, such as these breakfast roll-ups, would be a good way to manage it - no invitingly open package of tortillas sitting in the refrigerator to face down every day! I used to have either Mission or Trader Joes tortillas fairly often. I liked adding tortilla ribbons to soup at the last minute as it gave the impression of having a few noodles in the soup. Right now I have two packages that have been in the refrigerator for months - afraid to break them out. How long do you think they stay good in a frost-free freezer?

| A package of Mission Tortillas is always in my fridge. I keep a back up package in the freezer all the time. Just make sure they haven't developed any frost on them and they should be OK. I do have to watch and limit myself to no more than one a day. I'm sure that I would be much better off without them, but............ |

| What is in the Mission l/c tortillas? I miss eating the whole wheat La Tortilla factory tortillas, since I found out I am wheat-sensitive. It would be nice to have a wrap of sorts again. Maybe I'll scope them out at Kroger later.

| I agree that they taste the best of the LC tortillas - the white ones taste just like the regular version! However, they have partially-hydrogenated fat in them, so I don't buy them. I did recently send them an email and they responded saying they are in the process of reformulating them using healthier ingredients. I hope they taste as good when the new ones come out! Char

| Good for you, Char! I have been avoiding them for the same reason. Why don't they just go ahead and put good old-fashioned LARD in them like every Mexican cook I know does? I supposed they're afraid people will have a stroke if they read the word "lard" on the label. Advertisers need to come up with some new buzzword for lard (e.g., "pure nonhydrogenated natural flavor enhancer," LOL!) Aderyn |

| Aw Char, you purist. I'll take them any way they come. Like Kim discovered, they are great for hot dog buns, and lots of other uses......... pizza crust, wrap sandwiches, sausage egg burritos, and on and on. When you live in Texas, being without tortillas is worse than living without bread. They get my vote as the one LC speciality item that I could not do without. **note to Kim -- The hot dog browned up some sounds pretty good. I may have to try that for supper tonight. I think I'll put some cheese in it, too before I fry it. |
