| I am going to make my own salsa today, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to make it more unique? I usually only use different peppers and veggies(LCE approved of course Thanks a ton!!

| I use chopped fresh tomatoes, red or green onion, jalapeno peppers, fresh cilantro, a little garlic salt, and some crushed dried oregano. Sometimes I also add some chipotle chile powder and/or crushed red pepper flakes, and/or some powdered cumin. I can't wait for my tomatoes to get ripe so I can make some salsa too! Char

| There are so many great ways to make salsa. My basic one is just tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, garlic, lemon or lime juice, salt, pepper, cumin, and cilantro. You can vary it by adding chopped olives, chunks of avocado, or other peppers to it. |

| Thanks so much for the suggestions! I used chile powder, garlic salt, and a very small amount of onion just for taste, added to my original recipe. It was an absolute hit! Everyone loved it and the whole batch was gone by the end of the night between four people! I couldn't believe it! As our friends got here they could smell the salsa being made, and stood in the kitchen till it was finished! I continued to get compliments on it all night and they kept saying that it was addicting:great: I am so glad I tried that out yesterday! Since I started Atkins the first time, instead of eating ketchup (since it has 4g carbs per 2tblsp serving) with burgers and different meats, I eat salsa, and now I have an amazing new taste! I'm so glad, thanks again for all the help!

| Oh, I'm glad your salsa was such a hit! It's good on so many things - scrambled eggs or omelets, heck even just poached or fried eggs; you can mix it with a little sour cream and make an awesome dip for pork rinds; good on steak, chicken, even stirred into some Dreamfield's LC pasta and sprinkled with freshly grated Parmesano Reggiano - mmm I'm making my own mouth water! LOL! Char

| Sarah - Next time, add the chopped cilantro and it will be even better. Cilantro lends a wonderful, cool freshness to anything it's added to and it gives a more authentic flavor.
