OOOH I love his cookbook, WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS SHOW??? He was on FOOD Network where did he go? I have tried much of his recipes my favorite is the NY cheesecake, I love his sauces/dressings and his zucchini blinis! The only thing I really have not tried in his cookbook are the baking recipes the muffins, pizza crusts etc, all that soy flour I hate it too....book is worth it totally, and I will be getting his new one also can't wait!

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah, I am trying to find everything I can on low carb dieting. The problem is where do I get the things I need to be able to cook? I am a type 1 diabetic, low carb dieting is a safe haven for me. I had a transplant, but it only lasted 4 years, so it is back to needles for me. I want to learn how to cook low carb, so I can eat, and everyone else can eat what I cook. My husband has type 2 diabetes, this diet would also be good for him. Please help me out, thank-you Sarah

Sarah, welcome. Your best bet is to go to the newbies section of this forum. They have a lot of info about low carb. It is the best way to go to control your diabetes. There are a lot of diabetics who are using this forum. You might even start a journal; everyone checks out the journals and will jump in with their experiences, which will help you a lot. And check out the recipe section, too.

Welcome, Sarah.

There are really very few things that you need to be able to cook low carb meals. It's much more about learning to choose which regular foods are the right ones for your metabolism.

I always recommend that diabetics read Dr. Atkins Diabetes Revolution and Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. If you go to the front page of this board: http://www.lowcarbeating.com/bb/ you'll see that you can paste either title into a box that searches Amazon.com for the book you'd like to look at.

Hope you'll make yourself at home.
