| I have used this one before. I usually use it with pulled pork or beef in the crockpot. Hope this helps. Low Carb BBQ Sauce: 1 cup sugarfree ketchup 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1 garlic clove minced 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 tablespoon Liquid Smoke 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 tespoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon cumin 2 packets splenda To make the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients together. On low heat, allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Do not allow it to boil. It is better when it has been allowed to stand for an hour or so. Refrigerate any leftovers. |

| I love this one.. its my own creation.... took awhile to perfect it. Haven't found anyone who doesn't like it, and we have lots of bbq's during the summer... I am posting it according to the way I make it, but of course, you will have to do your own 'perfecting' to suit your tastes. The Jack daniels flavors it nicely, but of course you can leave that out if you choose. Homemade Jack Daniels BBQ sauce 2 C. one carb Heinz ketsup 2 T. red wine vinegar 3 T Terreyaki sauce.. I have used lite soy sauce instead sometimes, prefer terreyaki 2 T.sugar twin substitute brown sugar... adjust to suit your taste for sweetness 1/2 tsp hot sauce... add more or less as desired. also added: 1/8 cup Jack Daniels whiskey liquid smoke, hickory flavor I used a lot of this, I love the smokey flavor. add just a little of each of the following, and adjust to your taste garlic powder onion powder pepper, salt celery flakes Mix all this together, and bring to a gentle boil, and cook 5 minutes...taste and adjust to your taste... I HAVE used it without cooking it at all, but the flavors blend better if you do cook it. Experiment, and hope you enjoy it.

| Sugar Twin makes an a/s brown sugar, like their regular a/s. That is what is referenced in the recipe. It is available in some grocery stores in Kansas City,I don't know about North Carolina. I stopped using it after I got my brown sugar flavored splenda syrup. The brown sugar splenda that is available in grocery stores is a combination of regular brown sugar and splenda. Because of the brown sugar component it will have a lot more carbs. I suggest you look for the Sugar Twin brown sugar substitute.
