I usually have one for an easy Saturday breakfast before an early am round of golf. I also take them on the road for a nice l/c breakfast or lunch when I travel.

Ok, I'm sure this info is probably in here somewhere, but I don't have time to go through 31 pages of posts (LOL!), so does anyone know the exact (or approximate) PROTEIN count for the standard recipe of the 1-minute muffin? I need to enter this into FitDay, but also, I have had several people ask and I don't really know how to figure it...
Thanks in advance!

My flaxseed meal (Bob's Red Mill Golden Organic) has 6 gms of protein in 1/4 cup, and a large egg has 6.24 gm, so 12 would be a good count for the muffin. Hope that helps.

As I am in New zealand I have not been able to make these as I couldn't find flaxseed. After i found out is is ground linseed over here I gave them a go.
I made the basic OMM without any sweetner i put it in a flat rectangle dish about the size of 2 sm slices of toast when cut in half, After it was cooked I toasted it and it was yummy. My DH loved it as he has started atkins too and was missing his bread/toast a little bit, will definately try many more options.
thanks for the great recipes.
I also found this on the web when searching for ground linseed (flaxseed)

CRACKERS
2 tbsp ground linseed
1 tbsp water
Make a paste. Spread out thinly on parchment paper (greaseproof), sprinkle
what ever seasoning you like...my fav is just plain old salt and pepper. I
make one big cracker, but you can make them into little round or square
cracker shapes.
Microwave for 2 min.

can be topped with cream cheese.

I haven't tried it yet but I do miss my crackers...

While on holidays in Washington I found a store that sells DaVinci Syrups for $3.63 a bottle!! I bought 12 bottles.

So my latest OMM was made with Cookie Dough DaVinci.....definitely a favorite. Next one was Cinnamon...not that great.

I realize by the length of this thread that the OMM is old news to many - but - hey, I'm not the only newbie here so I wanted to bump this up and mention THIS THING ROCKS!

The only addition I can make to all the great advice given here is that DO let you're melted butter cool down before adding in the other ingredients. Also, if you use 2 egg whites instead of one whole egg you have less of an eggy taste to this.

I made this savory instead of sweet and found that Penzy's Garden Salad blend gave it the perfect salt/spice/cheese kick.

Needless to say, don't over do these, as tempting as that may be - there is a LOT of fiber in one OMM so you'll be sorry if you do over do it! (do - get it?)

I like this recipe very much. I used cream cheese instead of butter and used my hand blender to make sure there were no big pieces of egg left. I put a little bit of butter and sf maple syrup ontop...it IS YUMMMMY!! Also, I use Maggie's cereal for the 1/4 cup of flax seed to get add some great protein.

Take care
Carla

Good morning all Feeling fine today.
I just made one of these with cocoa powder added. didn't dare eat a whole one so had half. It seemed a bit dry so I had butter and diet jam on it. Very filling.
Once I get going to the loo again will risk a whole one, see how half affects me first.

I've changed it a little for me.....2 tbsp. of melted butter and cooked it for 1 minute 30 seconds...now I like it even more, if that is possible.
