That's the family room, Kim. Somebody at some point (before we bought the place) hung some oak-colored cabinets on the DARK paneling, installed a sink and made a space for a little fridge and VIOLA! Instant wet bar!

It really is fun to open the fridge, grab a cold can of seltzer or cola, and squirt in the flavor of your whim....

Thanks!! The whole dang thing is paneled in that dark crap. At least they painted the ceiling WHITE! Although it has dark beams....it was formerly the garage (they added on a double garage later at the other end of the house) so it's a BIG room - we have 3 recliners, a couch, 2 desks with computers (his & hers), a 60" projection TV, a giant bookcase...and lots of floor space left. Also a nice raised-hearth woodburning fireplace. It's a great room, we spend most of our time in it (and it's where I am even now!) - some day we'll replace the dark paneling and the ugly ca-ca brown carpeting and it will look a WHOLE lot better!

That little fridge is a replacement - we HAD one with the faux woodpaneling front, it finally died - so we bought the stainless one at Costco.

welllll , i have seen home improvement shows where they use KILZ as a primer and paint the paneling...then over in a color of your choice.. lighter..

always made the place look ENORMOUS when they were done...

Hmmm! *taking notes TOO!* May consider that one. It surely would be easier than pulling all this off, and who knows WHAT is UNDER it!

Yeah, this room would look HUGE with lighter walls and some nice oatmeal-colored berber carpeting....uh oh, I feel a spending spree coming on....

I've seen it but never used it - doesn't it also contain bleach or something that discourages mold?

I'll ask the hubster what the deal is....he sells that stuff all the time. He's the General Manager of the largest Bejamin Moore retailer in Texas. They sell other brands, too. He may be dumber than a box of rocks about some things.....but paint he knows! LOL!

Oh, yeah.....I am impressed with your bar, Char. I was just picturing something more....beachy, I guess! No matter. When I come to visit the "Char Bar" I'm sure I'll be happy just to be by the ocean....I won't let the "ca-ca" brown carpet bother me. LOL!

I seem to be leaning toward Key Lime everything these days! I should get some Da Vinci's. Using Key Lime juice isn't doing it for me.

So, what were we talking about to start with?? Oh, yeah.....l/c tortillas. And now it's s/f syrups and paint. Hmmmmmm.....
