Default Chocolate fixes??

This seems to be a huge weakness for me. Are there any other chocoholics out there that have good LC versions that might help keep the choco monster at bay? Thanks! Happy weekend all!

Hi Sarah,

Yup, with the PMS monster hanging onto my ankles, I know EXACTLY what you mean!

A couple things that work for me:

1) the simplest: a cup of warm or cold Carb Countdown chocolate milk.

2) what I had today when I was SERIOUSLY jonesing for chocolate: melt a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil in the microwave. Stir in splenda to taste (about 6 packets for me) and a couple of tablespoons unsweetened cocoa. When smooth, add a couple tablespoons sour cream. Put waxed paper on a plate and drop by spoonfuls. Freeze for at least 15 minutes or so till they set up.

I hope others will share their fixes, because I'd love some new ideas too!

Sarah, here's a version of chocolate candy made with coconut oil. I put it together back in '03, when a lot of us were experminting with virgin coconut oil. It's really good. Similar to what Staci does, but no sour cream. My recipe has nuts and coconut in the candy.

Another idea is to mix some cocoa with cream cheese, add liquid Splenda, SF Davinci or regular Splenda.

Two tablespoons Davinci sugar-free chocolate sauce.
Two tablespoons Kroger all-natural crunchy peanut butter (ingedients are simply peanuts and salt).

Mix together in a tiny bowl. Put in fridge for a few moments. It gets really thick. To me, it tastes like a Reeses cup. I've a serious sweet tooth and I can't eat the entire thing because it's so sweet and lucious.

And it stops my cravings for anything else sweet for DAYS. No kidding.

April, I bought a SF chocolate syrup similar to Hershey's at Wal-Mart. comes in an 18.5 oz. and the bottle is identical to Hershey's. It's the Great Value brand and it's made with Splenda, no sugar alcohols. It's ok but it does have a bit of an off taste, it has 2 carbs per tablespoon. You can find it on the aisle with the other chocolate syrups. I never thought of mixing it with peanut butter.
