I have one of those Mr Coffee iced tea makers and I love it. It sat around in my pantry for years after it was given to me and and last summer DH and I dusted it off and started to use it after we decided not to buy sodas anymore. Now I really regret all those summers we didn't use the gizmo. We use Luzianne tea bags and for a real treat sometimes we add DaVinci peach syrup to the tea. Yummy! This summer I'm going to start experimenting with adding some flavored tea bags with the regular ones for variety.

I LOVE Luzianne! Sometimes I can get it, sometimes not. I love that it comes in the big size bags!

I like to use both "regular" tea bags (I prefer Luzianne) and Celestial Seasonings in a batch of iced tea. My favorite is using about 4 Luzianne and 3 Celestial Seasoning Mandarin Orange Spice. I put them in a pitcher of cold water and put the pitcher in the fridge and let them sit at least overnight. Alternately, I like to throw a mix of bags into a pan of water, bring it to almost a boil, turn off the heat, and some time later pour it into the pitcher and top off with water. I prefer my tea unsweetened so adding the herbal tea bags change the flavor without adding sweetness.

Try, half/half: Luzianne and Bigelow Perfectly Peach or Red Raspberry. These are my favorites for a change of pace. I don't like it sweet anymore, either. "In the olden days" I used to use about a cup of sugar in a pitcher of iced tea, but I really don't like it sweet anymore.

Luzianne is very good...smoother tasting than Lipton, which I don't really like at all. One of my favorite herbals to drink iced is Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger.

I wonder why Luzianne is so hard to fine in the wilds of Upstate, Maggie? I usually get a couple of boxes when I find it.
I Like Red Rose tea, too. It used to come with little ceramic animals in the box, and I used to collect them.

I enjoyed reading about all the ways to make iced tea. I have found that the easiest and fastest way is to use the old coffee pot. This is similar to the resturant method.

Choose 6 regular tea bags or a combination of flavors and regular.
Place them in a 12 cup coffee pot and fill brew with 12 cups of water.

While the pot is brewing, fill a very large pitcher with ice cubes and
about 3/4 cup of sweetener. The smaller cubes can melt too fast, so
stick with the regular tray cubes. --I have never tried this with liquid sweetener.

When the pot is finished brewing, pour the hot tea over the ice cubes and
stir until the sweeneter is dissolved. You may have a bit too much brewed
tea, just save and add when the iced teas pitcher gets down a bit.

You now have instant iced tea, and you can even have cubes too... all
of the cubes do not melt. I have set this in the refrigerator and the ice
cubes keep for a good while. This has never been a problem in our house,
as the iced tea goes too fast. We all love it.

No boiling/boiled water, no hot pans or extra steps. I have found that
using 5 regular bags (and yes Luzianne is the best) and 1 flavored
(mint is very good on a hot summer day) will give a nice flavored iced tea and it will not be over powering.
