| food for thought dont know if it was added earlier but meats on sticks or veggie roasted squiers you could make some diffrent LC dipping sauces (ranch, peanut, hot,lcBBQ, butter, creamcheese.) you could put meatballs on sticks to or even sample w/ some tofu balls you would have to search for some recipes but .. there is always ways around things.

| I think the next gathering will be an outside one as the weather is getting better. Cannot wait for barbecued food, YUM! Is this what Americans call a "cookout"?

| The best are Eden Black SOy Beans - they are organic and so yummy and I use them in everything that needs beans - they make a kick @$$ chili with ground beef and a fantastic black bean soup... http://www.netrition.com/eden_black_soy_beans_page.html In the US you can find them in Whole FOods and other HF stores - but I'm not sure in the UK - I order them on line anyway - by the case - they don't go bad and I use them up in a hurry... Good luck! |

| Last week I made some refried beans using black soybeans. The beans then served as the base for a "Super Nacho" appetizer dip. I spread cooked taco seasoned ground beef on top of the beans, covered with shredded cheddar cheese, then topped with chopped tomatoes, diced jalepenos, sliced green onions, sliced ripe olives, and then drizzled with picante sauce and topped with a dollop of sour cream. I served this with celery stalks and some l/c chipolte crackers for dipping. (The black soybeans tend to be a bit "al dente", unless you cook them first. The first time I tried to make the refried beans, I just ran them through a food processor. I was not pleased with the result. This time, I cooked them like I do for my baked beans in a pressure cooker and they processed beautifully.)
